I watched this first watched this anime I had little understanding of the plot, what makes a good anime and in general how much was either edited or changed for this adaption.
I myself am a massive fan of Ryukishi07 even though I know less than half of his works, but Umineko has got to be my favourite. This anime upon my rewatch was a disappointment.
The story was passable for an adaption but they left out half of it stopping at Alliance meaning they left out End, Dawn, Requiem and Twilight which hold some of my favourite characters (Lion and Willard). Leaving out the plot
...
was not a good choice, especially when you leave out the answer arcs. I also have very many other problems but I don't want to go too deep into spoiler territory.
The art was a full-blown disappointment. Never and I mean never have I found an anime harder to watch because of the art. Higurashi's art was way better (and I mean the original anime, the new one's art is good but a disappointment). The characters are all overly 2D looking and flat-faced whatever angle their head it on, there were adaption dye jobs and hell wtf happened to Natsuhi's ponytail, it was PURPLE!
The sound effects and music kept this together. I myself have not yet read the sound novels but when I have the money will so I can't speak for the sound accuracy but though some voice actors didn't seem to fit it was amazing what they did. It would not surprise me if at least 70% of the budget went on the voice actors, no kidding.
The characters were good, but leaving out their long introductions (I've watched a little of the sound novel) and other conversations they would have had doesn't help them stand out as good cast.
Enjoyment. To someone who hasn't read the sound novel or the manga, it would be overly enjoyable, rewatching it is just painful though, even on my first watch when I'd skip read the manga I was annoyed at places with how it was adapted. If you are looking for an accurate and fun adaption of Umineko no Naku Koro ni then this anime is not where to look. I pray in future that a studio will come along and adapt Umineko properly they way it deserves.

Story: 8
As someone who owns two volumes of the manga I have to say that from them the plot stuck very close. I haven’t finished the manga yet but I am assuming either the last three episodes are not in the manga (which I doubt) or they are placed later in the manga. (I have read the last volume of the manga and know that the endings are different but that makes sense considering how long the adaption would have to be.)
The story was good, really good and I loved it. It held itself up and had a good end point that made it feel
...
complete.
Art: I
Good, I love how they kept the pretty eyes. Unfortunately the art did kind of decrease in quality, definitely animation budget issues, but overall it was good. The backgrounds were also good, I have a few minor problems with them, but there just me problems. Overall very good.
Sound: 9
Yesssssss, I love the sound track. The opening and ending theme are amazing same with the overall soundtrack. The voice actors are good and the only one that really bugged me was Matsuri’s voice. I found it very annoying (I’m referring the Matsuri’s voice), but all the voices fit the characters which was amazing. (I watched it subbed, I’m not a massive dub watcher.)
Characters: 10
The characters are amazing, though I don’t like Matsuri or Nina they all play their roles brilliantly. Every character has a role and fulfill it. Their strong characters and I absolutely love Yuzuchi and MeiMei, Sara and Himiko.
Enjoyment:
Dramatic, romantic, funny and in some places cringy. I loved it, it’s a bit much in places but still amazing 😍. It’s well worth watching and if you love Yuri or Shoujo-ai’s you’ll LOVE it!!!!
Overall: 9
If you can’t tell I LOVE citrus. It’s probably my favourite Yuri manga out there and Yuri is one of my favourite genres. It’s enjoyable, in places a hot mess but one with loveable characters and a memorable plot.
I recommend it!

Ok, first of this is from the people who made Anohana, and I found that such a letdown, (the series, not the movies, haven't yet watched it), and Her Blue Sky was AMAZING.
Story: 9
Well rounded and makes sense. It's simply a story about love and regrets. The story itself focuses around four, or three people, Akane, Aoi, Shinno and Shinnosuke and is very sad, (I cried, I NEVER cry watching sad stuff). I won't give a plot summary as I don't want to give spoilers, but trust me it's worth the watch.
The thing that pissed me off the most was the ending, but I'm sure
...
you'll understand it if you watch it. (Poor Ao-chan :( )
Art: 6
Really good until halfway then the backgrounds began to look more like actual photographs, but the character art stays very good, and the background revert around the last 20 minutes back to the original level.
I love all the character designs and backgrounds (ignoring the photograph ones) except for Shinnosuke's character design, but as he had to be originally Shinno I really understand it.
Sound: 9
I love the soundtrack especially Gandara. I just love it, and the voice acting really good, it really puts you off it it's had bad voice acting but it doesn't so :D. They also had really good voices for the cast who can sing.
Characters: 10
Ignoring Shinnosuke who if you can't tell I strongly dislike. All of the characters are strong and amazing. Shino and Aoi are the best though.
Enjoyment: 10
It's happy, it's sad, it's amazing. I found it very enjoyable and I would definitely recommend it to those who are fans of Your Name, Weathering with You, Hotarubi no Mori e, A Whisker Away and Your Lie in April. It is the kind of thing that I certainly think needs a rewatch and may when I finish this, (let's ignore the fact for me it's currently 02.29 in 24 hour time.
Overall: 10
Everything about it ignoring the photographic backgrounds which are my biggest peeve, it amazing, hence my 10/10. But I certainly recommend watching it.
Sorry about my rant and I hope this review could be of help to you.

Story: 8
It's about a world being attacked by monsters called the kisejuu (I may be spelling this wrong, I'm watching the dub). The Kisejuu are aliens that suck out peoples sexual energy to stop them reproducing meaning the Kisejuu have less to fight when they take over the world.
The story focuses around a group named SuperxEros or HxEros who use their sexual energy to destroy the Kisejuu.
Okay, it sounds like an ecchi, it is one, it's rather perverted let's be honest but it's also good in many other ways aside from the fanservice. There is plot depth, character depth and it's (four episodes in
...
so far) lgbtq+ friendly with one of its side characters in episode 3 having a girlfriend, (you do need to usually understand that this female character would probably have a boyfriend or be involved in an ecchi scene).
It doesn't have the best plot, but it holds itself up and supports itself. It's enjoyable and fun to watch.
Art: 9
(Were ignoring the censorship here which appears both in dub and sub and is annoying, if you give us fanservice, give us it, don't cut corners).
The arts really good. It has stayed at the same quality across the episodes if not getting a little better. It's not the most detailed or realistic out there but it's consistent and clean.
Sound: 7
(Please note I'm watching the dub.)
The music, background and sound effects:
Very good and they fit the episodes. Sometimes in anime (like Orange), I will find that the soundtrack doesn't fit or that a bit or the music feels wrong and out of place. This anime hasn't had a case of it.
Voices:
Okay, here's a bit of disappointment, I haven't watched the sub except to check about the censorship bit so I can't compare the voices but some of them don't really fit. For example, in my opinion, Kirara and Shirayuki's voice actors don't really fit them. The rest ignoring the Kisejuu who I think aren't the best. Otherwise, the voicing is good.
Character: 8
I've read quite a few ecchi, including all of To-Love-Ru and To-Love-Ru Darkness but I don't really remember how much detail the characters had as I last read it over 3 years ago, so I'm saying the characters a good. They have backstories, they're inclusive, they have depth and motives.
Enjoyment: 8
A bit cringy, but with the fighting, cast and fanservice pretty good. (Would be better without the white beams of censorship light that the Kisejuu send). It's enjoyable.
I watched ep 1 as a joke, to see how shounen and ecchi it was, and surprisingly I stuck on. I kept at it until now, when I just finished ep 4.
Even though I'm already watching LOADS I find myself waiting for the next ep.
Overall: 8
Though if you do the math it's actually 7.83333r
I recommend it, but only if you're an ecchi fan.

First, of, I don't really know what to say about this anime other than the fact it dealt strongly with war, death, poverty and what makes someone human instead of a demon.
It was a rather good anime so I gave it an 8 out of 10, in reality, I think a 7.5 would more accurate but that wasn't an option.
The story was promising from stage one. The whole premise that the story was based on was very interesting, hence why I gave the story an 8. I would have given it higher but I felt like there were some parts of the story where
...
things felt a bit unexplained.
The art started out promising, really promising but deteriorated, got lazier and lost some of the features that made the anime stand out. I assume they must have run out of animation budget or something similar. I gave it a 6.
Sound. Good quality the whole way through. The voice acting was superb, I loved it, (I am talking about the sub because at the time I write this there is no dub. Personally I think a dub would ruin this anime.) The sound effects were on point, same with the music. I gave it a 9.
Characters. Dororo is an anime that has a LOT of side characters as most of the episodes are stand-alone stories that fit into the overarching plot. Because they are so many and not that memorable though they were very enjoyable, I gave characters a 7. There was also good character development.
Enjoyment. Here's where I have the problem. Though fun in places and depressing in others it took me around a month to finish this anime because I kept on procrastinating. In places, I found it just too unpleasant, depressing and or messed up, for example, episode 20 I found very messed up. Because of this factor, I couldn't say the anime was that 'enjoyable' in the use of that word. The main reason why I finished was that I wanted to know what happened and that I had an interest in the world.
I would recommend this anime to you if you love anime set in the past of Japan, if you like animes with deep themes, gore and interesting characters. Though be warned, it is rather messed up. But what do you expect, it's about a guy trying to kill demons to regain his body.
I hope you found this review of help if you are deciding to watch the anime, because it is a good anime.

I, myself am not a massive fan of Ryukikishi07's Higurashi series as I am more of an Umineko fan, but even I can say that his manga was REALLY GOOD.
The story, Hinamizawa bus stop, is the base manga for the Higurashi series and focuses around Rika Furude and Mion Sonozaki who are both waiting at the bus stop. During the time they wait the come into contact with several strange people. That's all I'm going to say to avoid spoilers but I recommend this manga if you enjoyed Higurashi or any of Ryukishi07's work.
I really appreciate any who read this review. Thank you,
...
and if you decide the read the manga, I hope you enjoy it.
