[Oshi no Ko]

Oshi No Ko is, as far as I'm aware, one of only 2 series in a sub-genre of anime that I'd like to call "IdolIsekai". The other one, of course, is Paripi Koumei. In both shows, a character is reincarnated into the entertainment industry. The only difference being, in the case of Oshi No Ko, it's a pair of ordinary people, but in Paripi Koumei, it's a famous historical figure. Both shows explore the industry in a fascinating way and have extremely deep worldbuilding. While it's true that both take place in the modern-day world we all know and love, they both explore and build the "world" of entertainment that their story has to offer in an extremely fascinating way, though Paripi Koumei prefers to focus primarily on the music industry, unlike Oshi No Ko which is a more top-down examination of the entertainment industry as a whole. Furthermore, both star characters are extremely similar, yet uniquely different, almost like reflections of each other. If you love Ai Hoshino, I can promise you'll absolutely adore Paripi Koumei's lead character Eiko Tsukimi. Both characters explore the meaning of love and relationships and how it connects to their music. Both characters have extremely charming personalities that captures the hearts of both characters and audience members alike. And both characters have really great character designs, and are just really really pretty! They of course have a number of differences between them, but that goes into spoiler territory. Ultimately, if you're looking for a show that is similar to Oshi No Ko but perhaps a bit more lighthearted but still very grounded in reality, I could not recommend Paripi Koumei more strongly.
