This anime feels like the creator intended for it to be a boy’s love, but then was afraid of backlash and decided not to commit.

If you’re looking for an actual story with fully fledged out characters, then this probably isn’t for you.

However, if you’re looking for shirtless pretty boys, then boy, oh, boy, do I have some news for you.

All characters are bland and have a certain personality trait that they gate-keep to themselves

To sum up the main dudes, we have: dude who has an incredibly unhealthy obsession with water, the codependent best friend, the twink, dude who loves to impersonate butterflies, and shark boy

Taking my time to watch this ended up making me hate myself more than I ever have.

This film felt like it was created by people with dementia and was made to spread awareness.

The fact that some people rated this film as a 6 or higher scares me. It's evidence that shows the Coronavirus is mutating and becoming a long term disease This is proven by those people suffering from one of the most common symptoms of the Coronavirus: having no taste.

If The Promised Neverland was made in America, then season 2 would be considered the second biggest national tragedy, placing just behind 9/11.

I'll first discuss the anime on its own and then discuss both the manga and anime later on. That way, it includes both audiences and doesn't spoil anything for the anime-only watchers right off the bat.

Anime:
If I’m going from an only anime watchers perspective, I’d say there’s some good moments in the second season. From the very start of season 2, you're able to notice the art improvement and enhanced character designs. However, the good qualities of season 2 are completely overpowered by ... the negative ones. One of the biggest downfalls of season 2 was the storytelling; quite a few things felt incredibly rushed. It’s one thing if it’s rushed and then later on explained, but the show never really did explain what was happening at certain moments. Some parts of the show were way too complicated and rushed for the viewer to understand, then out of nowhere, there’d be some random filler episode. There were definitely some heartwarming interactions between characters, but it lacked depth. Besides for some interactions between Emma, Ray, Sonju, and Mujika, most character-building moments were cut short and easily forgotten.

Anime and Manga:
Now, from a manga readers perspective, the second season was a disappointment. The first season followed fairly well with the manga, but then season 2 highly struggled. First off, the things that were rushed in the show were all explained in the manga, and in detail as well. To compare how rushed it was: season 1 consisted of chapters 1-38 in the manga. Season 2, however, consisted of chapters 39-181. So, a ginormous difference between the two seasons can already be told just by knowing the number of chapters each season contains. The character introductions/development in season 2 can’t even be on the same playing field as the manga. The manga goes nicely in depth with the characters and you get to see so many of the minor characters shine with their own individuality. One of the things that irritated me the most about season 2 was that so many events that occurred throughout the season weren't correlated with the manga. The ending of season 2 is, for the most part, entirely different from the ending of the manga. Also, the show skipped a highly anticipated arc that introduced so many fantastic characters.
