The two main male MC's are similar in personality. You had one that is mister perfect that everyone wants to be with or be around and the other is more in the shadows as a helper, but often overlooked and taken for granted. In both anime, mister perfect takes notice of all the help the overlooked male gives to others and is rather happy to be around him more so than any females.

Haikara-san ga Tooru Movie 2: Hana no Tokyo Dai Roman

SPOILER The plot of this movie is very much the same one of Mermaid Melody Pure. The main male love interest is thought possibly dead, is rescued by a physically sick lady, main male has amnesia, they get together, he eventually sees his old real love interest but doesnt realize at first, new sick love interest is aware and keeps saying things like "stay by my side, I need you" and manipulates the emotions of the main male. TLDR; super frustrating to watch. But in a good way. You know what is going to happen, but it still enthralls you. The movie is better than the show in the aspect of you are frustrated for less amount of time.

Both involve a shop ran by a mysterious girl with elegant clothing that grants wishes. It is very episodic in that every tiny arc is tied to a wish granted by the shop. You always find the shop when you need it or have use for it. People often end up regretting going to the shop and exchanging a prized possession in return for a wish. While the shop is there to help people, it usually is more melancholic and ends up not going well for the one that made the wish.

Similarities: - Centered around the same time period - Have a decent focus on boobs (Hanyuu having more of one) - Mainly girl only cast - Have girl love elements to them - Give off the same atmosphere - Travel from town to town and no two episodes relate much other than to progress their journey's Differences - Size of the traveling party - One main character is praised for her looks and the other is made fun of for them - Koihime incorporates side characters into it's storyline more than Hanyuu

Both shows are about kids in high school and has very little of a "true" plot. Doki Doki involves the males in high school more so than Lcuky Star, which basically focuses on just the girls. Overall, they both have no real story behind them and are good to watch if you just want a light laugh.

My first reccomendation.. Both shows have a main female heroine with pink hair. The main girl has a crush in the beginning, but then they both start to fall for the enemy. In both shows they run around try to save stuff. Both shows have character transformations that take long periods of time. Only real difference is I think Shugo Chara is drawn better and aimed for viewers a few years older than Tokyo Mew Mew.
