Are you an RPG enthusiast who played the original Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord game? Then you must watch this. It may not be a masterpiece, but it was made for you. You will recognize the character archetypes, the monsters, the spells, the grim atmosphere, the floor skipping elevator, how greed both motivates and betrays the player, this is all represented in a very faithful way.
Everything else is just generic even if competently done, so if you're not familiar with the source material you can safely skip it. The plot is purposely minimalistic and generic, and so are the main characters, perfectly

A serviceable manga for 10-year-old kids obsessed with Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar (a 1985 CRPG masterpiece), a respectable target audience back in the eighties but non-existent today.
If you're young enough you could enjoy this short shounen story, don't get me wrong, as it's adventurous, well drawn, and kind of cute. Unfortunately though this is just too juvenile and generic for grown ups, while adding nothing of value to the Ultima universe. It is a short story though, so you won't lose too much time reading this. Also, they've turned good old Iolo into a cute waifu, which is beyond funny. Oct 9, 2021
A mediocre Hades chapter soft-reboot, with none of what made the original Saint Seiya series good in the first place (that is, visceral battles, moral and metaphysical themes, imaginative world-building, and an outstanding soundtrack).
If you're already invested in the Saint Seiya franchise you might enjoy Lost Canvas, since it competently addressed many criticisms of the original show, and it can be amusing to watch past incarnations of beloved characters kicking ass. Unfortunately though that's the most this series tries to accomplish, never going beyond shallow fanservice.
