imo it did pull off something unique. though i dont agree with your violet evergarden uniqueness statement. it was very pretty but not special in its own way. anyways back on topic, angels of death had one of the best color selections i had ever seen in anime. its so visually pleasing seeing the different colors on the characters so you could easily differentiate them, and how well they stood out from the backdrop so it felt like the characters were popping out of the screen and coming to life.
7/10 art gtfo angels of death. animation is smooth and crisp af. may not have amazing effects and cgi like ufotable but the drawings are still top notch. rachel's blue eyes are so well done it's like looking into an ocean at night. the characters just move so fluidly from one frame to another and the backdrops are nice as hell and fit the character's personality. art isn't all about it looking nice. it's also about how it fits into the themes and creating an atmosphere and environment that the characters are living in. angels of death manages to make this mysterious landscape that looks right but doesn't feel right where the killer's theme matches perfectly with their living area, like the dark alleys with zack.
