- School settings with romantic interactions are present - The male leads are cynical, average, perceptive and distrusting of others while the female protagonists are narcissistic beauties who suffer from warped views due to a superiority complex, leading them to be loners. There are mediators between the difficult protagonists whose personalities are presumed to be falsified. - The vibes exuded from the novels are identical. In spite of the comedic romantic tags attached, the moods tend to be heavier than expected because of the focus of deep themes.

There are striking similarities with these two anime shows. The stories are about a set of students in an isolated academy, who are striving towards being the sole (class or alone) graduate by either killing other students or having them expelled. The main female leads are seemingly cold-hearted people who remain calm but are accommodated with flaws, in spite of wanting to appear perfect. There are characters who bear a wide range of personality traits such as being gentle or cold. The more interesting factor is that students pretend to fall under certain categories to acquire advantages that are beneficial for said students. Because of the nature the shows carry, the atmosphere exuded is heavy and characters utilize their wit to remain unscathed by others, which includes not getting betrayed. There are exams that students partake in that tests the abilities of said students. In Danganronpa, it's trials whilst Classroom of the Elite offers a multitude of exams.

The stories take place in a school setting, both main characters carry unique features and stand out. The mystery tag is prevalent in the novels and most of the mysteries are mundane but are significant to the stories. The school setting is accompanied by a club the main male leads get compelled into joining. The same male leads are lead around by the female protagonists and are unable to decline their self-centered requests. The female protagonists are similar but also different. They share similar views as in expecting events to circle around them and people to adhere to their needs. Haruhi takes this obsession to the extreme while Chitanda Eru from Koten-bu Series is tame. It is evident that their quirky actions lead to them being depicted as unique characters. On top of the aforementioned information, both works are character-based. The stories are insignificant because of the attempted realism they portray. There are not many over-the-top moments but the focus lies on the character's mental aspects and the development received.

The psychological works are deceiving to bypassers. They seem like generic high school drama manga but there are aspects of them that separate these works from others. Two main characters who share egoistical personalities are met by reality. Onanie focuses on a superiority complex while Chikan Otoko focuses on a man who expects too much. The main character's use the help of someone else to conduct their activities but their moral values take a change for better or worse and develop thoroughly as characters and undergo personality changes.

The works are popular mystery light novels with a school setting and hints of romance. The concepts, a boy encounters a popular girl, are prevalent in the works and the story is narrated from the originally meek boy's perspective. The males gain self-understanding and put their brain to use to crack mysteries and the direction the works take are creative and unexpected. The females are mysterious and bear certain secrets and are incomprehensible to their male counterparts. The sense of Kafka's writing is an aspect that shrouds the reader with a sense of danger. It is unbeknownst to them and the readers what situations await them. Finally, the characters are profound with many aspects to them.

The thumbnail seems identical but that is not all that meets the eyes. The main characters are similar in both works as they have personalities that are not straightforward and are instead playful characters. There is a hint of mystery prevalent in the works that sets the stone for them as more serious reads. Inner monolouges and an evident displeasement of the female characters are displayed for both male leads but character development impacts the course of the story. The expectations should lean towards a school life with minor world building and events occuring at school. There are traces of higher authorities so crimes will be touched upon, but very mildly.

Misunderstandings are prevalent in both shows, generic onsen episodes and similar lighthearted fun are existent.

The manga series in question share undeniable similarities. The chapters consist of one page, making them easier to read for beginners. The style of humor is similar as they really on slapstick comedy at times. Circling around romantic development between characters is a prominent feature of both manga and the cast of the manga consists of a handful of people, ensuring development to flesh out and extend the relation with the readers and the characters. The shows also rely on unnatural abilities the characters contain, in order to add comedic value and also develop character through said powers. It's psychic powers (Mousou Telepathy) versus physical powers (Tomo-chna wa Onnanoko!) The shows rely on misunderstandings to extend the duration of the manga but the usage of such misunderstandings are sometimes cleverly written. Recognizing this flaw is essential to realize that development is prevalent throughout either manga and that a direction for the stories are present. If any of these manag was an enjoyable read and more is craved, look no further because the other side of the coin contains a similar story with similar structure that still feel different because of varying casts, settings and underlying issue that imprints a negative mark onto the characters!

The show differ slightly in tone but the synopsis is similar. Both female leads use other means of communication to convey thoughts. The location of occuring events are related to school and the comedic relief brought forth is depicted through similar means. The manga share a similar sense of fluffiness and the evident chemistry between the two main characters. The side characters are highlighted and become the center of attention, ensuring development for more characters. On the flip side, Senryuu Shoujo has a striking difference encapsulated through the romantic expression the show uses. Many chapters try to develop the establish bond between the male and female lead. In contrary, Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu dwells less on the romantic gap and relies a lot more on the pure slice of life aspect it carries.

The series depict the life of teenagers who take on a part-time job and work in a cafe/restaurant. The art styles are very similar, featuring moe-blobby character designs that exert similar vibes. Both stories are slice of lives with similar comedic approaches capitalizing on their romantic tones for comedic sucess. On top of this, the anime series have a large cast with a variety of characters to fit the archetypes that are common for the romance genre. Using their casts, there's a lot of development on a variety of characters - that also leads to vastly increased amounts of world building.

The artstyle are very similar with the surrealistic drawings that draws you into the scene; very detailed. The stories deal with a normal world and another vaguely explained world. The way everything works is not put in front of you and requires you to activate your brain and think things through; maybe even doing research. The stories are very powerful and both activate emotions very easily. The biggest difference is how Clannad takes the emotions very far and toys with your heart, while Kimi no na Wa takes simple steps to trigger a lesser level of sadness.

The stories consists of seemingly normal worlds with a group of great friends that are having the typical school life. It's pretty simple to believe that they're slice of lives without stories. However, nothing is as simple as it sounds because there's a major truth that exists in both worlds. Both of the main characters wanted to pry too deep into the surrealism because of their curiosity. The thing that they didn't realize is how everything, including their friendship would shatter because of their simple greediness to know. Both of these shows are from the KEY studio which means that they will be very dramatic and the development will mostly go towards the characters. The key elements in this anime are the perfectly done character drama and friendship aspect which does mean that the story will be flawed. If you can connect with the characters these flaws can easily be overlooked.

Don't get fooled! There's more to it than what meets your eyes. At first they might look like your usual cutesy series with the characters in both series following their own typical lives. However that's wrong. They're both seinen, so be sure to expect deep themes. They're both about main characters striving for something minor. Whether it's a girl or a dream they will work hard for it. They realize that they cannot do it alone so they will involve someone who'll be a core part for their future decision. Along the way they will have to make decisions such as if they value their dreams more or not which instead means that they'll be a sacrifice for the sake of their nearby and loved ones. There's a lot of mental stress for them and they'll be running away from their main objective multiple times. Kuma Miko will play the Slice of Life card for the characters to take a mental break and might even become lazy to the point where they can't move and everyone has to do every minor thing in their stead, which will play a big part in the conclusion. School Days is more harsh and will play with the main characters life and possibly ship his head with bloody thoughts. You'll see an interesting series of mind games, psychological manipulating and high level decision making which accumulates a lot of frustration. You as a viewer will also be mentally impacted and have a lot of unique emotions towards most of the events that occurs. I ended up feeling really terrible while watching these series and they did impact me with questions such as suicide, manipulation and respect towards other people. This included not making girls be your toy or slave. Are these things really okay and how should you treat other people? You'll find it out while watching these two. They both answer the same questions differently. If you had a hard time understanding one of them, the other one might relate to you more.

These two are so simiilar. A sequel which outclasses the previous season and both have romance. It now turns into bonds and relationships. Not to mention they're the only two anime from KEY which made me cry. They create a strong and confusing plot which then gets connection every episode until you later on understand everything. They're mostly about solving personal problems which hold huge purpose. What makes these so great is how you can relate to these problems. These take a huge step into a great supernatural anime which is perfectly done. They deal with life, death and other conflicts. Recommend both without any problems.

Same concept about being stuck in a RPG world. However what these two does is creating an economy and a leading world so they can keep the world going. These have low focus and how to get out and has alot to do with adapting to their new setting. They're both very strategical anime and is heavy-dialouge anime which doesn't focus on action that much. What i do think these anime series could have evolved was giving out a plotline which they'd follow instead of taking irrelevant side quest. However what Log Horizon did better was in a way or two using these side quest to create something for the plotline however Overlord used these merely as a plot tool and didn't really develop much on anything at all. Overlord didn't have a deep storyline and characters as Log Horizon which is something you might consider for a simple watch, however if you're looking to expand on a storyline i'd highly recommend Log Horizon. Remember that Log Horizon has a seriously slow plot line while Overlord has a fast paced plotline since it is quite rushed, which might give you some quick watch entertaintment. They're both good series to enjoy.

Basically about a perfect imouto on the outside but is in reality a shut-in. It follows the daily lives of them trying to hide their identity. OreImo however does have a side plot, with a much wider cast. Both of them has a storyline and connection, yes, even Umaru-chan has it. Also the imoutos are annoying in both series. Finally, there's a sub genre of romance although again, in OreImo it completely takes over. OreImo has better storyline but Umaru-Chan has better comedy and SoL elements.

The plot is about three people who help other people and end up creating a larger cast of characters. They're known as hyper comedy series and they live up to their names. There's slight hint of romance but the main plot is about how they live as friend. There's some serious arcs in it.

The protagonist are new to the sport and is that nice guy who gets easily embarassed. They both love someone and that person will be relevant throughout the series. They had the skills from the start which they didn't use until they joined the club, they could have been legends if they started from a young age. School is a genre in both of these series although it has low presense throughout this anime. They dream of going pro. They get tons of rivals with exciting battles and will make you cheer for both teams. Last but not least both of these anime series are sports anime which are unique so you'll probably enoy them.
