I will sometimes rate a show I think is better than another one lower than the second show. This is rare, but will and has happened. For example, I think Your Lie in April is equal to or better than Baccano!, yet it is rated lower. This is because Baccano! executed its concept perfectly in my opinion. Your Lie in April had some mistakes or things I thought could have been done better, and so because of that, it is not a perfect 10.
With that being said, the numbers I use also have meaning.
1 means that the studio wasted their money, time, and effort creating the show and would have been better off either not making that show or not being in anime.
4 or lower means that the show wasn't entertaining. It was a waste of my time. I would have been better off not watching it. All numbers lower than a 5 are levels of bad.
5 means that watching it or not watching it doesn't matter. The show wasn't good or bad. Not a waste of my time, but not an amazing use of it either.
6 or higher means that the show was entertaining. I liked it. It was good and worth watching. All numbers higher than a 5 are levels of good.
10 means that the show was perfect. Given its concept, there could not have been anything done better that would have actually affected the show (redrawing one poorly drawn door you only see once wouldn't actually make a show any better).
