gotta be honest here, In many ways i like claymore more than berserk. Of course berserk has the better art and individual characters are more interesting than in claymore, But the story moves so fucking slowly that it can get tiring sometimes. Not in the first two story arcs (golden era and the dark knight or whatever), but after that its a little stagnant and there are too many long battles. Especially the last buildup to the sea god battle was kinda grueling and the tentacles lost their charm fast. I know claymore is largely inspired by berserk and you see it at every turn. The yoma are kind of a bland mirror of the apostels in berserk even in later volumes when their design gets better it never reaches the amazing creativity of berserks monsters.So the main two things claymore has going for it are that the story moves along rather quickly and always stays engaging and entertaining. And it actually ended so thats a major plus im looking forward to. The other major plus are the characters, which are almost all claymores. I love their design, even if their main distinction point visually are their hairs. Their personalitys are fleshed out and fun. The ranking system of the organisation is engaging af just because power rankings like that are always great. And of course theyre all cute grills, badass cute grills! Overall i wouldnt necessary put one over the other manga since i havent seen both conclutions (and who knows we'll ever see the berserk one -.-). Berserk is better for its artworks, deep characters, monster designs and wordbuilding, whereas claymore has the better story drive and an overall more engaging ensemble cast.
