Both surround a group of loveable characters heading towards to bottom of a mysterious hole/dungeon, passing through each one of it's layers, with worse things awaiting them on each one. Both have similar body horror elements which twist it's original playful tone very well (Made In Abyss moreso). Made In Abyss is still the better show by a mile, Dungeon Meshi tends to focus on food which detracts from it's main interesting plot too much for my liking. But both enjoyable watches.

Aside from both being in a futuristic 'humanities-gone-to-shit' setting, this is mostly a VIBE reccomendation. Both center around themes of growing up, maturity, picking the 'bad' side and romantic elements that compliment all that. Cyberpunk is better though, I still haven't forgiven the ending of FranXX.

Tower of God is like the first arc Hunter x Hunter but longer and 10x better. Note: HxH is still the better show as a whole.

Instead of just listing in dot points what similar, I'm just going to say one thing. What both these stories have is a similar sense of adventure. Both have a group of characters working towards one goal. Not only are the character from both stories lovable and have in depth backstory, but the adventure it's is fascinating. The worlds they are both set in have lore that is not only explained extremely well but itself is just so damn intriguing. You know the world building is good when you as the audience can imaging thousands of other stories that can be told in the same universe. Any way if all that sounds to vague and doesn't convince you, here's my last point. After finishing FMA:B, it's always hard to go back to watching other shows without thinking "This new show it good but...it just didn't have that FEEL FMA:B had". Well let me tell you...Made In Abyss has that FEEL, and you'll love it.

Won't say much in fear of spoiling either story so all you need to know is that they are quite similar, sweet yet funny romantic films that will tug on your heart strings and leave you contemplating life for months after you watch them. Enjoy watching them for you'll never be able to watch them for the first time again.

These films are extremely similar, child runs off and gets lost in a new world filled with weird beings. They both find someone that will guide them though it, teaching them the ways of life there. But eventually their goal is to return to the human world. Both these films are masterpieces a highly recommend both

Now if you're like me and HxH is one of your favourite anime's of all time, then you've also most likely already seen most of the recommended anime on this list. But, here I present one more for you... HERO ACADEMIA Both protagonists are EXTREMELY similar even down to how they look. They both are striving to be a very strong fighter (Hunter and Hero). They both are going through trails to become this fighter (Hunter Exam and Hero Academia). They both have learnt a new powerful ability and are slowly trying to master it (Nen and All For One). They both even have green hair. This recommendation is for people for have already watched everything else that is just mildly similar to HxH (or Hero Academia) and now are looking for something slightly different. I highly recommend both this shows if you enjoyed one of them.
