Gatchaman Crowds

Gatchaman Crowds is basically a super sentai version of Eden of the East, bringing the message that everyone should play their part in making a better society because everyone has something to offer. Also includes commentary on social media, although Gatchaman Crowds is a little more blunt with this.

Let me be clear, in terms of story, characters, tone, and morals, these two have practically nothing in common. The reason i still make this recommendation is because both are anime that revolve around music. In Cowboy Bebop, the OST is incredible and highly composed of jazz, the names of the episodes are references to actual songs and artists, and the characters themselves are like jazz, by which i mean that they're cool, unpredictable, and move with a certain flow. In RahXephon the OST is also great though in this case composed of mostly classical, the concept is somewhat the idea of music changing the world, and music is constantly used as metaphor.

Three ordinary kids, two boys and one girl, that all of a sudden have mysterious beasts that they can control and use to fight other mysterious beasts in order to protect their city. Not to mention just the overall feel of it. I would say that Devil Survivor 2 is more mature, but that's about it.

Many will claim that Rahxephon is an imitation of Evangelion but this is not true, however both have various similarities that give me enough power to say that if you liked one you should like the other
