Dang, for real? I guess AEsir Holdings doesn't have the rights to it. That sucks. Well, hopefully with all these shows getting announced, RahXephon will eventually get a license rescue. It's not as if the show is incredibly obscure or anything of the sort, where a license rescue would seem out of the question. But I suppose only time will tell.

RahXephon isn't licensed? I thought one of those weird, lesser known companies held the rights to it.

Haha, same. I've been hoping for a Wolf's Rain license rescue pretty much ever since Bandai shut down in the States.

Yeah, I've heard. I'm crazy hyped. So much so, I busted out the old Bandai set for a quick little watch.

Yeah, I need to get around to Shiki and Nana one day. I know my sister was a HUGE fan of the Nana manga back in the late 2000s, but I unfortunately was kind of a bit young at the time to really get into it. I'd love to give both the anime and manga a go, in spite of the hiatus.

Haha, I would love to eventually read And Yet the Town Moves. I was quite fond of the anime, and I am interested in reading the manga counterpart, it's just a matter of finding the time to do so.

Yeah, I've been going through Ghost Slayers Ayashi and it's been somewhat enjoyable since I'm interested in Japanese history. Otherwise I had just recently gone through Hakaba Kitaro which was a really cool little retro throwback that came out a few years ago. I liked the dark humor, but the characters were interesting in concept more than they were likable. I want to finish Zettai Shounen soon since I started it back in June, and while it's a nice coming-of-age story, I have a tendency to get sidetracked really easily with slow burn, type series.

I'm enjoying Yuri On Ice, Flip Flappers, 3-gatsu, Bungou season 2, Girlish Number, and Occultic;Nine the most out of all the shows this season. Fune wo Amu looks like it has potential as well. But most of the ones I'm following are at least decent. Unfortunately I haven't caught up with most of the shows because I have a strong tendency to fall behind on seasonals rather quickly. Though I definitely have no problem taking some time out of the day to veg out on the couch and watch some seasonals.

The art style struck my eye. Thanks, it sounds really interesting. Are you enjoying this season? What titles do you recommend?

And no time for anime, but it's great to be informed about it, though. I don't want to be out of the loop with the anime community. Although I'm too overwhelmed with scanlation stuff and in my free time I watch kdrama. My newest addiction :'(

I really liked it! The characters were fun and had great chemistry with each other, it took this weird story filled with outcasts somewhat specific to Japanese culture and managed to make it easy to relate to for anyone. It was funny, it was heartwarming, and it put a smile on my face. The crazy character designs were also really charming and allowed for some really expressive animation. I think the last episode was crazy rushed, but I could appreciate the fact that they tried to end it in a way that was semi-conclusive and did the best they could with the time slot. As much as I appreciate the noitaminA block for attempting to streamline more "out there" and "unique" anime, I always thought that the one cour limitations very much hold a lot of shows back. I don't think it quite did that for Princess Jellyfish, but I felt like it could've used another episode to wrap up that section of the narrative.

Well, I tend to look on Animesuki, which was pretty much the top anime forum for fans back in the mid 2000s, for example, here's a thread on their favorite Bones series back in mid 2004:

The discussions aren't terribly analytical in lighter threads such as that one; however, when it comes to series-by-series overviews, I actually do learn quite a bit, even on shows I don't particularly care for.

Aniplex should, at the very least, give me a simple release for a cheap price. Like I wouldn't mind the high quality releases being that expensive if there were lower quality releases that were less expensive. I just want to own some of their shows. Like I'd love to own Madoka, but I'm not too into paying that much for the show.
