Gokiburi Taisou is a fun little animation featuring anthropomorphic cockroaches. The style of movement combined with their design does make it a bit creepy though. Furthermore the soundtrack is not altogether that special. Southpaw takes the quirky and original style of its predecessor and uses it much more effectively. By using a much altogether cuter character that has much more charisma in its design, the animator has produced a music short that appeals musically, visually, and stylistically. The animated dances are integrated well with the melody of the Kuricorder Quartet and should prove to most people a gateway to this hidden gem of a band as well. The animator's work often touches on taboo, bodily fluids, and the repulsive which may not appeal to all viewers. Southpaw, however, is an animation that will appeal to those who appreciated the stylistic originality of Gokiburi Taisou, but prefer a cuter or more conventional style of character. Truly, Southpaw is a hidden gem that I expect will eventually get picked up by some big influencer and become a hit. Definitely a must watch for anyone into short music video anime!

Weak MC gets betrayed and left to die in an OP dungeon. Becomes OP. MC is not afraid to kill people. PRO: MC is OP to regular people, but in the dungeon is underpowered, so everything is an actual challenge instead of a mere obstacle. Difference: Arifureta is harem and Dungeon Seeker is not. Though sex plays a part in Dungeon Seeker.

MC gets betrayed by party, is a weakling, and must work hard to achieve own success. MC gets great powers but still struggles against his enemies instead of curb stomping them all the time. MC has a fighting style that's not based on strength and doesn't use a sword. RPG status table system.

Isekai, defeat monsters and then absorb their powers. Not as developed in the character relationships though. Eventually ends up with city-building.

The New Gate

Both series have characters characters that get dropped into a new world and have to learn about the politics and other info. In Tate no Yuusha, the character is totally new as opposed to The New Gate but it's still fun. Tate no Yuusha is a dark-ish take on the 'trapped in a fantasy world that has game like characteristics' story. So instead of it being an MMO with other players it's about integrating into a world that has leveling systems, like DanMachi or Grimgar. You won't regret it!

Both take place in fantasy world that people are suddenly transported into. Grimgar is a realistic take on a fantasy world and the logistics of acquiring skills and stuff like that. Grimgar as a somewhat darker and mature tone for those who like that.
