Did you ever watch a filler episode between two arcs, the episode where is just characters chilling while at peace with no villain or problem and thought, "I could watch a whole season of this"? Well, this is the anime for you.

This is a spin-off "slice of life" version done right.

"Tensura Nikki: Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken" tells the every day lives of the residents of Rimuru City. Unlike other anime that try the same thing, this one actually feels like its cannon(with some obvious exceptions that alter the main story). The interactions between the characters is interesting and enjoyable to watch. Simple, chill interactions ... between characters that dont force plot.

The art style of mostly hits with some misses. To go from the original art style to this one is a bit jarring, but you get used to it. In particular, I did not care for the appearance of the old man Hakurou, the facial hair seemed off.

Characters are highlighted with great moments. Characters that are not exactly my favorite ones. Treyni, the Dryad, is very fun, with a goofball charm, just wanting to be a part of the activities. Geld and a little goblin girl share very wholesome scenes.

This was a really good buffer between the first and second part of the second season. We got fun scenes and brief ominous of whats happened with Part 1 and whats going to happen in Part 2.

This is surprisingly wholesome. I can understand why people would not enjoy Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san. The first couple of episodes can be very mean-spirited with Nagatoro just flat out bullying the male main character(Senpai) to the point of tears. However, it quickly turns into playful teasing and to romantic feelings.

The animation is very good. The expressions in the characters , and mainly Nagatoro's face are really well drawn and funny. The wiggle arms will never be not funny.

The opening song is a banger. And Nagatoro´s voice actress did an amazing job. It fit the character really ... well and definitely made amazing scenes with her delivery.

The relationship between the two main characters is what defines this anime. If you dont like their relationship, you dont like the show and I dont recommend it. I certainly enjoyed this more then I expected. They could easily turned Nagatoro into a generic tsundere character, and although she some of its traits, she´s a interesting, funny character. She is a glass cannon. Max ATK and 0 DEF. We see her becoming more interested in Senpai and her blush levels go up as the series goes on. And Senpai reveals a good character devlopment, starting from quiet, weak, art nerd virgin to a more assertive, confident chad. I didn't like the side characters that much at the beginning. They seemed annoying and selfish. But they turned out alright. In the possible second season, I would like to see more complex aspects of these characters that are hinted at in this season, and a possible backstory.

This was better then I expected to be. One of the most enjoyable anime these season. Its a wholesome experience. It seems that the more Twitter complains about a new anime, the better it is.

I rate it 7+, maybe 8 in the future.

This is your standard isekai, overpowered main character show. If you are tired of this kind of shows and/or looking for something different then i dont recommend this anime.

The story is uninspired. Woman dies of overworking and is reincarnated in another world. I liked the art style, its vivid and colorful. The opening is catchy. The characters are entertaining, they pretty much carry this anime. I found the "straight man" role of the main character along with its voice actress delivery and the sound effects being made using voices pretty funny.

Overall, this is a enjoyable show. It follows the "cute girls doing cute things" formula. ... A bit overlooked this season.
