If you enjoyed Aria, you'll probably also enjoy Amanchu. - Both of them were directed by the same person, Junichi Satou. - Both anime have the same mood, being a slice of life without much happening most of the time, but whose characters easy to like and get involved with. - They are both also set in a quiet and happy town, and people go there explicitly to travel in the sea (in Aria's case, it's above water, in Amanchu's case, it's below water). - Amanchu has Aria references popping out from time to time, including "pseudo-cameos" of characters that are really similar to Aria's main characters and have the same voice actresses. Overall, if you liked one it's hard that you disliked the other. If you've not watched either, I'd recommend to watch Aria (in order) first, since Amanchu has a some [s]fanservice[/s] references that would be lost without having watched at least one Aria season beforehand.
