(NOTE: Disregard the MAL Synopsis, Our MC isn't Effeminate, but a clueless airhead with a huge crush on a Lesbian Girl)
Story 10/10
Senou Natsuru is a Man who dreams to be the boyfriend of his beloved Sakura Kaede, one of his School Top 2 Beauties, To his dismay he is chosen to be a Fighter, a Kampfer to fight battles vs Other Kampfers, the problem is that Kampfers must be female, and one day upon waking up he has Breast, a stunning body and Female genitalia and a stuffed animal, given to him by his crush tell him that he now is a Kampfer and can
...
transform to either sex. (We all know what we Men of Culture would do with that Power, but do not fret, his is Denser than Ichika from Infinite Stratos)
In order to keep with the rules, Natsuru has gained the Ability to Sex Shift between Male and Female at will, Our protagonist gains a Harem, Yeah I know how rare? but on this story, the MC doesn't want it because Akane partner Kampfer, Mikoto Childhood Friend, Shizuku the Mature Student Council President are no match to Sakura Kaede, His one and Only Crush.
Imagine his shock when he finds out that Kaede is a big Lesbian and that she has the hots for Him, but not his true form, the Female Alter Ego that he transforms to when battling Kampfer.
Now add the fact that he is twice enrolled on his High School as his school has two separate Campuses, Male and Female are segregated and he attends both on different forms thanks to the sadistic Student Council President Shizuku.
Now Natsuru balances his life fighting, keeping up with school on both sides, Male and Female campuses and Oh Yeah destroying his budget buying more clothes as unfortunately, Transforming into a girl does not create underwear and Bras aren't cheap as he later finds out and trying to get Sakura Kaede dislike his female form and approach his male form while she absolutely loves his female form.
Enjoyment 10/10
I absolutely loved this series, It's astounding on it's sole absurdity, It's juicy and a must for those who like gender benders, Unlike what the tags are here, I wouldn't call it a Yuri since the MC is a Guy but he does explore the duality of sexuality as both Male and Female.
Highly recommended.

From common place to worlds strongest, another "Isekai" anime as the whiners would say but how does this one fare to top picks like "No Game No Life", "Gate" and "Re: Zero".
Well this anime is a lot like "Sword Art Online" season 01 structure wise, unlike SAO Alice, the very first SAO was trimmed because it was a newcomer and if you know about the anime industry, you know there are things like Slot Booking, Budget and Profit forecast, Not a lot of anime studios go in with sequels in mind. so it's about playing it safe, what can last the whole season and most
...
likely relevant to what is being played, seeing how popular and how investment SAO has gathered despite the forever mad pseudo critics, not only did it pay off but it generated a large enough pull so that for years anything remotely moving the MC to a different place is good enough to be animated.
So how is it related to SAO, Arifureta it's a much shorter anime that uses the same summary format to maybe pique the interest of an audience.
Plot: 8/10
While SAO was a psychological twist on regards to being trapped inside a game which automatically means certain death if your HP drops to zero, things that only seasoned gamers can avoid and even then, mistakes are made.
Hajime Nagumo is a High Schooler that is transported to another world alongside his entire classroom. and unlike Kirito who has resolve and skills from the get go and you know, is playing with a fake virtual body, Nagumo is a easily forgettable youth with no back bone. was dealt a bad hand upon reaching the fantasy world, whose skills upon arrival to the new world can only work on groups, as he is basically a glorified Blacksmith that isn't a sorcerer, healer and / or even a attacker and of course is risking his life and limbs on his real body on a floor clearing system like SAO but instead of going UP, the higher floors go underground.
By all accounts, A Blacksmith has no business on the battlefield, and is usually in some shop in the safety of a town.
one day, on a mission for simple jealousy for a girl, A male classmate hides a magic shot among shots meant for the creatures they're fighting and hits Hajime Nagumo sending him several floors down by himself alone with terrifying monsters in a lot of darkness.
Now imagine being a high schooler, with the skills of a blacksmith, no weapons several hundred feet under ground surrounded by tougher monsters that the ones your party used to fight. Alone in the Darkness, with monsters to whom you are nothing more than a treat to eat. the upside is that Nagumo by resorting to eat monsters he is able to hunt by setting up traps to be able to survive, he acquires a myriad abundant of skills related to what he eat, even if it is all raw.
Nagumo has to survive and make it to the top, loses an arm to a monster that was already eating him alive and an eye later on. he has to toughen up and is now fueled by hatred of those who left him, but what should have been a story of vengeance, turns into one of growth on which a boy becomes a man, with a party of extraordinary monsters like a Dragon, a Vampire and a still impressive Bunny Girl with super Strength. Nagumo goes from a forgettable character to Rambo in 13 episodes.
Art 8 / 10
Arifureta has great animation and is very vibrant on regards to characters, landscape and world, but the monsters are 3D rendered so it's all about how you feel about that, I didn't find it as bothersome as others do but I'll leave this to your discretion.
Characters 9/10
Sound 10 / 10
Great soundtrack. one of the best things of this anime is the use of it's music.
Enjoyment 9/10
I fully enjoyed this anime, it has a sprinkle of everything, even Konosuba with a perverted masochistic Dragoness on par with Darkness from the aforementioned show. however the edge of the blade here is how does the spacing bother you, this anime spit the anime in to two, a story or summary of one and a long epilogue on which Nagumo is a badass cleaning house on the surface after learning a secret he uncovered underground. a lot of people wanted more dungeon bad assery and more skills. however this show based on how it was handled, the goods are at the surface not the dungeons.
Itis truly sad that this series didn't take the risk a made it longer, maybe get another season and perhaps could have been the next SAO on length but more of an underdog take.
while not the splash everyone anticipated, it's an anime you'll be glad you saw nevertheless. wouldn't be surprised if the show got second season, the character dynamic is a sight to behold after all.

Owarimonogatari 2nd Season is Volume 3 we the fans have waited for since the end of the first season back in the year 2015. Shaft has delivered however, Since making the promise back on the year 2013, Shaft compromised with the fans of the Monogatari Franchise to animate everything and anything penned by NisiOisin regarding the Monogatari Series. So How does this second season of Owarimonogatari fare?
PLOT
Araragi Koyomi High School year is drawing into a close and Owarimonogatari delivers a finale and freeing every knot conjured in the series quite masterfully.
On Mayoi Hell Araragi is forced to come to an understanding of himself
...
and face off to the fact that there is no point of dwelling on the past. As his graduation nears he is freeing the knots of his youth and battling his inner demons that hold him hostage for every one of his seemingly reckless actions. actions that he later learns after openly giving it some thought, would have happened with or with out him and ultimately hell is a place you go on your own accord, as to your own conscience you must feel guilt to be be punished as that is something that would resurfaced on the later arcs.
While Dead, Araragi has his life played before his eyes and learns that there isn't much if any to change given the chance. Mayoi Hell does one thing well, and that is it forces our MC to learn his place. he needs to learn everything doesn't depend on him and moving alongside the plot highlights his greatest hits while in high school.
On Hitagi Rendezvous Araragi learns to be dependent on others and perhaps more perceptive of those whole love him, as there are people out there that would match him in kindness or maybe stupidity to stake out their neck for Araragi Koyomi while on his date after so long with Senjougahara Hitagi. Hitagi wants intimacy and seeks to get on first name basis with her boyfriend, we are shown and reminded on our cast youth as it cn be attributed to their inexperience, we are shown how a young couple waited so long for this intimacy and it becomes accomplished by coming to terms and dealing with your issues together.
Ougi Dark dealt with inner demons given shape or should I say corporeal form, Sometimes you don't have to battle your demons but accept that they're your own self criticism and they'll leave you alone as so long as you learn that you are not perfect, as you're young you're entitled to your mistakes, but it is up to you to own up to them and accept them as part of yourself.
As Owariimonogatari 2nd Season was one giant metaphor for struggle, It closes a story of a youth whose life went to shit when he became familiar with the supernatural. Which he later lived through, confronted and came up on top.
Sound
The Choice of OST and OP/ED by Shaft was amazing, it played well with the sequences and further cemented points trying to get across.
Characters:
The monogatari cast are the incarnation of the 4th wall. they're well knit and developed throughout their lives on the series a more mature outlook in life and told you their tale for your entertainment.
Art:
The art was consistent of the other adaptations and the symbolism was ever so present. as always Shaft doesn't disappoint.
Enjoyment:
The monogatari series is an absolute masterpiece, well put together and the characters have a little of both relativity and absurdity, why wouldn't they on this case. It's a story of youth given the breath of teh supernatural confronting themes ever so present on everyone life and some not so much as they're metaphors to problems.
I highly recommend and before I forget, Watch Koyomonogatari Episode 11 - 12 before watching this installation.

(Minor spoilers/Rant in Enjoyment section)
Kizumonogatari is back and at last we get the last piece of the puzzle, This time part three otherwise known as "Reiketsu-hen" or "Cold Blood". The final chapters animated, just how well did it do?.
Story 10 / 10
We start the film at a brief conversation between the characters of Oshino Meme and Araragi Koyomi talking how it is unreal how Koyomi managed to overwhelm the hunters that were after his life and his master, Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade.
The film progresses as we see a rampant return of the eloquence of visuals, symbolism and long chats that have left a mark on
...
anime by the now known "The Monogatari Series". Reiketsu unites the presence of Monogatari by displaying thought and process of our main character Araragi Koyomi and the familiar Monologues as we se how Araragi opens up his conscious and spills it right before all of us all and notice how he has changed. Reiketsu shows us how is it that Araragi came to be as characters and show the transition to us all by splitting up the process.
As on Tekketsu, Kizumonogatari is Visceral as it appealed to human instinct of its rawness but also included a conversation oriented presentation that carried the first act.
Nekketsu focused more on youth, The youth of our characters reminding us just how over their heads the main protagonist are, being Hanekawa Tsubasa and Araragi Koyomi. It imposed the rampant sexuality and the ego of our characters and it brought forth action to the table that greatly differs from the first act, Tekketsu.
Reiketsu in the other hand combined all of that, and brought us the current formula of Monogatari as the last piece of the puzzle is unlocked and we get those ever so necessary inner monologues showing us the how! of how can someone who lives on being spontaneous and show us the results that it carry. It also shows us the result of forbidden knowledge, as the more you know, the less safer the world becomes.
Reiketsu at large, It can be called the very beginning of the franchise of The Monogatari formula, it can also be the start of series itself but buried in all that, Reiketsu was the conclusion and acceptance to the end of ordinary lives that will from now on live knowing of the supernatural.
Art 10 / 10
Shaft really outdid themselves with this final arc, and brought us more fluidity we ever dreamt off to the screen surpassing the preceding films in the direction of visuals and their rawness, the combination of 3D CGI with 2D artistry of the highest caliber showcased on a eccentric but fully working presentation that the trilogy is. as well as honoring the culture of animation now that it has become a well define characteristic of the new culture of japan, that marvelously attracts new blood to japan enticed for the ever newer pile of contribution to society with impact on international scale.
Sound 10 / 10
The sound direction was astounding, as it was the voice actors on their A game. followed by well composed OSTs and keeping the old school horror feel you'd normally feel from Alfred Hitchcock, as many reference and use of direction clearly referenced the style and with new twist to the presentation of the film.
Character 10 / 10
Our characters, Oshino Meme, Araragi Koyomi, Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade and Finally Tsubasa Hanekawa were connected on highly unusual ways that your standard presentation, As their interaction feels timelined of progress aided by well directed visuals and ever accurate sound directions.
Our characters are weaved on the thread of ignorance, youth and experience. weaving them differently but ultimately presenting us in split acts the coming together of a series and the buiding blocks of a character we've enjoyed for years on the Monogatari franchise.
Enjoyment 10/10
I've waited for this for a long time, due to work I sadly missed this film while on theaters because of work. Know this though, any anger I held and all regret that plagued me as I patiently waited for clearly was worth every second now that I've witnessed the final film.
If you're a monogatari fan, I highly recommend it and if you're not give it a shot, For it is very possible you'd be one of us and enjoy of the international harmony and fandom that surrounds The Monogatari Series
However as much as I loved the movies, If I was director I would have added and removed a couple of things. In comparison I liked the structure of Tekketsu. The Alfred Hitchcock direction references and the music with cold moments with well executed music.
For example, instead of the dancing monks when Araragi returns from the convinience store to Kiss-Shot, I would reuse the animation just prior, where Kiss Shot in all her forms are running about in the garden of flowers, I would reuse that but change the background into a landscape of corpses and/or entrails. Adding some blood to the faces of the multiple kiss shots creating a better visual of Araragi Koyomi world view, the alternative would be to use the style of Onimonogatari painting like style but of old Europe showing vampires with human skulls since it's a European folklore, Given the use of French I'm guessing Kiss-Shot is probably of French relativity . If used the first scenario with the landscapes I would put a stare similar to hanekawa just like how she looked right after passing out in front of ararsgi after being ripped open by episode's cross and place it in the multiple kiss-shots.
I would add the same effect to Guillotine Cutter severed head, and remove the CGI because that's the only section where it doesn't really play well the CGI environment and 2D people is awesome but making Guillotine Cutter that way really steals from the punch araragi is supposed to feel.
I would have also added on the beginning a little flashback in black on white, same style as tekketsu, when Oshino Meme first came In contact with Kiss Shot the legendary vampire and her power as a little background when Meme tells araragi when he took Kiss-Shots heart.
Maybe that's just me, Absolute masterpiece of a trilogy nevertheless.

Sin: Nanatsu no Taizai “The Seven Mortal Sins”
Backstory and Information:
Hobby Japan has finally delivered and now this year Spring of 2017 with the help of TNK the studio behind “High School DxD” alongside with Artland. This series being far older than the now widely known Netflix’s Seven Deadly Sins, Hobby Japan responsible for series such as Queen’s Blade, Hyakka Ryouran “Samurai Girls” and Demon King Daimaou or “Ichiban Ushiro Daimaou, Whatever it is you have seen, Hobby Japan has a history with high tier Ecchi and
...
who can forget their amazing figurines that radiate quality.
Sin: Nanatsu no Taizai being a series that had over the years been teased to the fans on multiple instances as this series is from a Video Game, It has left us waiting many years because of dilemmas. Whether this series could be delivered in shorts or OVA’s it remained to be seen. With a Manga introduction in August 29th of 2016, Published by Hobby Japan it brought forth light to the people who were getting tired of holding their breath and later confirmed when Visuals once again teased a incoming anime series. The issue grew deeper whether the anime would adapt the video game or the new fresh manga, Categorized “Shounen” and on February 2017 a “Seinen” version is being put out by “Media Factory”.
Plot + Pros:
“The prideful archangel Lucifer disobeys God and is cast into the lowest level of hell as a fallen angel. On her way to hell, Lucifer happens to meet a high school girl on Earth named Maria, who helps her. In hell, Lucifer meets Leviathan, and Leviathan explains to Lucifer about The Seven Deadly Sins, the seven demon king rulers of hell. After The Seven Deadly Sins seal Lucifer's powers, Lucifer goes on a journey with Maria and Leviathan to defeat them.” Courtesy of Anime News Network
It seems pretty cut and dry, as one can guess the story here is one of revenge with juicy details native to Hobby Japan’s Ecchi ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).
The Question now becomes what will the anime reflect, One of the two manga or the video game?. The answer is a little of all three and this series approaches the viewer with more visual appeal rather than complex storytelling as the series holds to present a simple point and questions the tittle of the sins and whether if any of the seven should be indeed be worthy of pulling a human soul towards Hell.
Whilst the main character isn’t on full out display as of yet, due to we have a duo of Lucifer and the human Maria leading the show, This show is executing a learning process between human and Lucifer as they unravel sin by sin and accept that nature isn’t sinful as it make up each one of us. While showcasing high tier ecchi for the delight of many of us to see, It is well accompanied by doubt and self-discovery of each of the demon lords as they learn from their defeats that their existence isn’t anything to be ashamed about and shows us growth from a Lucifer who sees herself as one cast out for not belonging to the herd and being an individual thinker.
As the series advances it pseudo - parodies "Dante's Inferno" in the Journey of Lucifer in place of Dante to recover her powers, Become head of the 7 Deadly sins and hold a goal of holding Heaven, God and the Archangel Michael accountable for kicking her out of heaven for simply having a opinion and most of all, for being individualistic.
The Con:
While the series is visually stunning here and there and has a lot going for it, It mirrors another series in one aspect. This series is leaning more towards an original work and like Dragon Ball Super there is a lot of improvisation and often things fit in on rather rushed ways, As the Manga both put out by Hobby Japan and Media Factory don’t have as much content for the series to draw from, So it often does fill in the blanks in a anime only format.
Except for the whole Dante's Inferno references from here and there.
Art:
This series has a rather somewhat unique animation and has a lot of vibrant colors, Other series that count with the same type of animation is the anime “Yuushibu” or “I couldn’t become a hero, So I reluctantly decided to get a job”. The bad though, Is that it seems that to rise the amount of BD sold, the uncensored version of this show airing on AT-X is using rather high end brightness which tend to render many of the beautiful screen captures found of this show too bright and useless to many.
Sound:
The music is great, The voice actors are top notch and we are joined by Rias Gremory Voice actress “Yoko Hikasa”, So far I haven’t been disappointed with the choice of OP & ED either.
Conclusion:
I recommend this anime to two sorts of people, The first are the ecchi veterans who can appreciate the series and the second are the folks that don’t mind women’s bodies and are up for a cold beer or soda chill and let the visuals stimulate you and do the talking for the first hit of 2017 on Ecchi goodness.
If you’re anal and don’t like Ecchi anime, please do yourself a favor and stay away from this anime at all costs. It is most like not your coup of tea.

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one. - Albert Einstein
I really do wonder what was the genius physicist I admired so much on my childhood thinking about when he said that. What would later become a well renowned quote that many just I would cite and presented depending on how fitting it's the occasion. such deep thought and intriguing that begs the question onto what's real.
However it is the one thing that came to mind when I saw this film. Reality, Time, Identity and Romance all circle this very quote. Things that are very present on this film.
"Kimi no Na Wa" or
...
"Your Name " It's a quite a controversial film, As it has climb up the charts at a unprecedented level even if it's MAL we are talking about. It has also taken Japanese theaters by storm and the film itself has outsripped various Ghibli films as globally aclaimed as they are and shove them behind them. It begs the question whether the film deserves all the hype or not after all. Is Makoto Shinkai a genius and is his work a work of art worthy of all the praise?.
FUNimation has acquired rights to it and plans to screen it on 2017. They've even gone as far as to enter the film for a Oscar nomination as strange as that sounds. as this development was happening I was wondering and asking myself, Is it really worth it?.
I'm a sucker for Gender Benders, Romance as long it has comedy and Ecchi. You can call that my guilty pleasure. So when I read the synopsis I was intrigued and honestly I didn't know what to make of it. It even annoyed me at some point because people wouldn't stop talking about. It's mere name irritated me to no end.
Like the obsessed Naruto fans and their Anime Gang Signs they throw out all day (LOL, I know it's Ninja shit). Anyway let's begin.
[SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD]
Plot: 6 / 10
After all I've said, You're probably flipping out. Why did I give this film at least for it's story a 6 / 10. Well the story revolves around two high school students from different places in Japan. Miyamazu Mitsuha a girl with city dreams who abhors the country life. there is nothing interesting going on and lacks absolutely everything that relates to entertainment.
Kinda like a more grounded version and more humble of Megumi Shimizu from SHIKI. though this isn't as tragic, there is the sense of despair present for a time. regardless of which, she wishes she could escape the country life. Out right declaring on a shrine that she wishes to be a cute boy on the city as she wants to be on Tokyo. Why does she wanna be a guy on Tokyo? Who knows. what we do know is that she has had recurring dreams on which she is a guy on the city. However while awake, she is told she acted quite bizarrely the previous day and she begins to question whether it was ever truly a dream to begin with or is something supernatural going on.
Her switch partner Tachibana Taki a city young man whom we really aren't told much about. He works multiple part time jobs and has a talent for drawing and subtly has been shown to harbor a slight desire to escape the city life for a bit. The body swapping allows both individuals to experience each other way of life, To gain experience and perhaps learn stuff that you'd normally wouldn't learn. As time goes by they leave each other notes about what they do on each others skin. leaving things written on each other bodies and/or cell phones and give each other tips on how to handle things.
Till one day, the messaging stops and so does the body swapping. Just to find out that Mitsuha the country girl and her town disappeared out of existence 3yrs ago and over 500 people died on a comet crash that erased the town. Now Taki becomes engulfed by the intrigue of how did he talk to the girl and to reach her and perhaps save her and her towns life from a deadly catastrophe.
Now although the plot is now evident. this films biggest issue is it's pacing and shaky focus. it doesn't know where it's heading at all. this anime swallows the world building and the how to of how in the world is soul switching by time travel even being done on the first place.
Although from experience, Anime shown this way isn't about the plot but it's symbolic nature. Anime such as "BokuMachi" or "Erased" whole purpose was about dealing with regret and showcasing how it affects your future and can with hold you from achieving your best at your dreams. going as far as to intervene on your love life too. The plot of saving an old classmate was never important plot wise but it's symbolic nature of awareness of your surroundings.
This film constantly jumps around and whatever message it wants to get across gets lost on a white noise. There are traits of what perhaps are a desire to be with the same sex hinted from one of the characters and it's vaguely approached whether the experience is to be missed or was it simple lifestyle that somehow turn into romance as each one of the individuals live on each other skins and get to know each other from within.
one can argue that "Kimi no Na Wa" contains a coming of age element to it on which two youth are dealing with their place in the world as well as getting to know their identity better by living on each other skins. however it's execution it's quite poor. throughout the film you can't help but feel potential brimming but this films biggest mistake was to be a film.
"Kimi no Na Wa" was a mistake!. A TV show would have made this show stand truly atop as for now I perceive this show being graded on it's potential and what it could have been. Aside of being full of holes on regards to consistency and the set up to create a form of drama but coming out slightly above average.
Art: 8/10
The art is very good and the visuals are astounding. the characters designs are ok and aren't very important as the youths exist solely for whatever purpose the films wants to show you rather than have you get attached to them. basically a means to an end kind of thing.
Characters: 7/10
The characters are good and decently developed. However though bouth Tachibana Taki and Miyamazu Mitsuha hold a somewhat equal relevance you can't help but think "Convenience" aat their character dynamics despite their set up on regards to the past with each other.
The characters are designed to just be able to boost each other just enough but not enough to be memorable.
Enjoyment: 7/10
This film was enjoyable at the line of good but it was most certainly not perfect not masterpiece worthy. I was entertained by the first half of the movie and it's showcase on a different approach to body swapping / gender bender was these are quite rare to find as a whole, Trust me I've looked since it is my guilty pleasure.
To jumpy to what it wanted to accomplish and wrong expenditure of time for it's different themes of Gender Bending, Time Travel, Body Swapping, Identity and Romance. As I mentioned earlier, This should have been a TV Show.
Overall: 7/10
I give this Film a 7/10 since it's a most fitting score taking everything into consideration. Would I recommended? perhaps but people who don't care much about details. Meticulous people would be good for this film as they would enjoy it.
If you're here for the gender bending and it's showcasing on dynamics, It will be quite interesting but to be frank, As a enthusiast of this kind of theme. I shedded more tears at Maken-Ki Two Episode 0 approach and their portrayal of it's consequences better than how it is presented here.
If you're looking for fulfilling romance well, "Ano Natsu de Matteru" or "Waiting in the Summer" it's a hint for that. As per time travel well, It's just used as a means to and end and it will most certainly not be explained as it's just a vehicle to the what is happening in the plot and it requires you to look past it.

Kizumonogatari is back once again but this time on the form of Nekketsu-hen or "Hot Blood" meant to showcased different aspects of Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade, the Iron Blooded, Hot Blooded yet Cold Blooded Vampire. It brings us the meat of the "Wound Tale" novel as it is called by "Vertical-Inc" , "Hot Blood" maybe I should say it is the backbone that leads us straight into the climax that is yet to approach us on the upcoming January 6th of 2017 for Reiketsu-hen or "Cold Blood". However did SHAFT managed the middle installment we've all been waiting for since February masterfully as they
...
handled Tekketsu-hen where we left off.
Plot: 10
We are brought into Nekketsu-hen with Dramaturgy and Araragi right off the bat as they prepare to fight for one of the limbs of Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade as she finds her self currently in a child form. from there on we are once again rewind on a similar fashion to Tekketsu-hen leaving us with Araragi Koyomi reading books regarding fights and/or sports books as he gathers ideas to fight Dramaturgy.
Kizumonogatari Nekketsu-hen Adapts Chapter 007 - Chapter 013, Pages 101 - 220. there is some shaving here and there once again removing the inner dialogues and replaced with body language and some symbolism however not as rich as it was present as Tekketsu-hen. As this installment is a little more confrontative and addresses the issue of the characters not demonstrating their thoughts on a confrontational manner letting them rip across the screen for the audience to enjoy. since this is the backbone of the trilogy and as such it is less intuitive as the predecessor.
Art: 10
The art in comparison to Tekketsu-hen did what i didn't expect. It rose and once again proved that SHAFT has mastered the blend between CGI and standard highly detailed animation. Its is superb and other words can't describe how well done it is.
Sound: 10
The BGMs are back and well placed. Overall hard to complain about them as they're meticulously well placed.
Characters: 10
The characters are tweaked a little bit as they're more youthful and direct on this installment. they're not you're usual quick witted 360 degree characters that dissect the smallest of things as usual of the Monogatari Series.
To reiterate, on Nekketsu-hen they rely a little less on symbolism and have the characters be a little more direct to interact with once another. Araragi is more emotional and Hanekawa less smartsy than what we are used to. the dynamics between the characters works rather well and let's us see another face of the characters we are used to and spin them on a more correlated way to reality imprinted on the screen as high school students interact and some bonus shinanigans fly about.
Enjoyment: 8
The movie is well put together. I've enjoyed it a lot, It's most definitely more action packed and a lot more comedy is thrown in. some ecchi from Kiss-Shot md form and more panties from Hanekawa Tsubasa.
however sadly this comes with some drawbacks. Nekketsu-hen unnecessarily trimmed itself into a 1Hr and 9 Minutes. this unfortunately thins out and sometimes removes the cushion necessary to shift gear on a adaptation which contains different states of emotion and setting that vary from serious to comical. the removal of this cushion handicapped this film up most potential on the eyes of a person that hasn't read the book.
Fan can overlook this mishap as they know what is going on but on the other side of the coin. Kizumonogatari Nekketsu-hen shifts gears a little too quick, It doesn't let you settle in the setting it's built up and what you were comfortable settling on a serious, dramatic take suddenly turns a bit corny and outright comical that steal some of the set up the film was trying to achieve. Nekketsu-hen needed more time to widen the cushion between the rotations of each setting.
Overall: 10
I give Nekketsu-hen a 10 / 10 since it was well executed to a certain degree and many other areas are just too well done that overshadow the unfortunate lack of cushion.
If you're a fan just like myself you're probably already stalking Aniplex USA for any announcement regarding Reiketsu. If you've seen Tekketsu-hen and you've yet to read the book released by Vertical-Inc. I wholeheartedly suggest that you pick up a copy ASAP to create context for what you're watching as the movie will become more enjoyable. Kizumonogatari, from "The Monogatari" franchise it's more fan base friendly rather than newcomer friendly.

Rank: Tier 1
Premise: "Suspension Bridge Effect" It's the rapid heartbeat and arousal when in state of danger. Named after it's discovery of friends and/or people of the opposite sex tended to get married right after experiencing a tall bridge crossing. When in danger your biological alarm kicks in as a form of a reality check, All living beings are meant to procreate. The phenomenon released chemicals inducing individuals to fall in love and a need to have intercourse after a hyper sense of arousal on a very aware state.
On Masou Gakuen HxH Episode 01. Hida, Kizuna and Chidorigafuchi are under attack by an alien
...
mecha force; the heroine in question on a almost near death situation with an already state of danger both Kizuna and Chidori blush and simultaneously suffered from rapid and increasing heartbeats. All this while Kizuna touches Aine on a erotic manner arousing her and driving her to climax. After the "Heart x Hybrid" takes place the heroine is seen pressing her hand against her chest when Kizuna was talking to both Himekawa Hayuru and Yurishia Farandole on a flirty manner or at least is seen in such manner by Chidorigafuchi Aines eyes.
The name of the phenomenon "Heart x Hybrid" which is later explained by the commander of "Amaterasu" Hida Reiri, Amaterasu being the name of the Japanese force against other world invaders, Reiri says that "HxH" is not be outright lewd and/or actions but a state of synchronization between Body and Soul. The Heart Hybrid Phenomenon is later expanded upon on Episode 02 when Yurishia Farandole achieves this when Kizuna merely places his hand over her left breast, reinforcing that a psychological x danger requirements are a necessity rather then outright lewdness for power up as many can easily misunderstand. This means endorphin s are creating the love state whilst the human body becomes aroused with lust. This directly results on the power up of the "Heart x Hybrid Armor" and / or "Magitech Armor" as it is referenced later on the show. A weapon which is the only weapon for humanity.
Twist: Although "Heart x Hybrid" grants enhanced abilities powered by the synchronization of Love and Lust. It uses spiritual energy as well as fuel, The state and power of "Magitech Armor" it's directly correlated to "HxH Points" who directly affects power output of the armor and ability to protect it's user.
If the Heart x Hybrid points were to reach Zero it would result in immediate death for whomever uses the armor. A fact that only the commander and/or sister or Kizuna "Hida Reiri" and Kizuna our MC knows. this becomes his coping mechanism as he seems to operate under the thought that lewd things and/or Heart Hybrid + Climax Hybrid are nothing more than maintenance and he does it with the outlook of protecting his comrades lives. he becomes vigilant making sure none of his team members Heart Hybrid Points reach the Danger zone which is 15% or Below.
Heart Hybrid participants experience the power up because they all have gone through body modification, They've injected invading alien Mecha core that seems to respond to a combination of Love and Lust. Normal women don't get a power up because they can't since they haven't been modified themselves.
Ecchi Builder: Kizuna must come up with unique ideas to accelerate healing on Heart Hybrid participants by doing lewd actions. This lewd factor absorbs the rest of the genres on a satisfactory way on which the lewdness facilitate battle engaging, Character development towards one another as well as opening up about their individual experience as human experiments growing up in order to fight other world invasion and halt humanity progress towards extinction.
Plot Overview: 15yrs + ago humanity was attacked by another world and was humiliated into submission. Even though the enemies left most of humanity was killed and weren't seen again until 6 months prior to the present of this story. Humanity has been kicked out of their respective countries and have no other choice but to live on "mega floats". Artificial countries floating about on the ocean. most nations and their inhabitants have been killed off and those whom wander the ocean goal is to take back their respective countries.
The surviving countries all have specialized teams that can fend off the other world advanced technology. a team of people wearing the "Magitech Armor" and/or "Heart x Hybrid Gear". aside from the goal of taking back their respective lands, teams of each respective nations such as "USA, Japan, Russia, China etc" must seal inter-dimensional gates that serve as portal from this world to the next as well as to reclaim their land under enemy control.
Animation: Throughout the years we've seen experimentation of the anime industry to use 3D animation to reduce cost, Keep animated consistency, Facilitate mass producing of more anime and possibly keep more money for better pay while trying to keep the "Japanese animation history" of authenticity. They're tried from fully 3D all the way varying 2D textures on 3D models. Some kinda succeed and some end up like "Berserk". Most anime studios have reached the conclusion to keep 2D characters while just 3D environments. One of the first projects to do this was the anime "Tokyo Ravens" or earlier one like "To Love-Ru" season one when displaying alien creatures and some inventions but as someone who has seen "Kizumonogatari" movie, Shaft has mastered it.
On Masou Gakuen HxH there are 3D modeling but somehow Studio IMS has given a whole new breed on a 2D Fusion with 3D. The result are noticeable on the characters as they seem multi dimensional without feeling boxy like standard 3D. The art feel more fluid and more solid as per substance on the artwork. The enemies keep a higher amount of 3D but it isn't a issue since the main point of the series lies on Erotism. With that I think it was a good call.
It isn't perfect all the time since Production IMS had their hands full the entire season handling "Active Raid" simultaneously. however the episodes that did managed to get through the animation it is superb.
Sound: It puts hentai voice acting to shame, The voice actors /actress do a very good job at the erotic scenes.
Characters: Ecchi / Harem are pretty standard, It's flooded with Tsunderes and some Kuderes. Minus the Yanderes. The writer Kuji has been paying attention to successful ecchi on the industry and has grabbed the best from past / current ecchis.
Himekawa Hayuru: it's a nitpick out of To Love Ru, Since her personality is 88% Kotegawa Yui "The One Yelling Shameless All the time" but twisted on a more assertive fashion and a little less tsundere. Her personality it's well thought out though as it becomes evident why "Shameless" things bother her and ultimately what bothers her is slacking off.
She is very much obsessed with morality and being proper. Himekawa also harbors the need to be competent due to her once arrogant demeanor got many Japanese citizens killed while she was on escort duty to transfer them to the Japanese mega float.
Currently her sense of duty is near an obsession that she is trying to get over with. she is fully aware that Ataraxia is a military school of sorts and to her relationships equals lewd things which ultimately means slacking off. her pursuit to keep people or rather students in check from doing anything it's a damage control of hers trying to keep her fellow class mates from having to experience what she saw when escorting Japanese citizens to the mega float.
Chidorigafuchi Aine: An orphan who lost everything and doesn't know how much she lost. She is cold on the outside and always seems to portray a seemingly god complex to sustain her ego and maintain her constitution afloat of being the best so that she may be useful to the cause.
Her personality is explained through her dark past and how she developed that personality. As an amnesiac orphan who sees her worth strictly correlated to her fighting capabilities. She will do anything to obtain power to maintain her world view of being worth something for capabilities only, instead of her persona. She would offer up her body if need be.
If I had to give you a blend of characters to accurately tell you about her, I would say she has a 46% Senjougahara Hitagi on regards to attitude and self worth. This also is shown on her aesthetic relationship with the MC Kizuna Hida. Then I could add a 34% Xenovia Quarta on regards to thirst of fighting and desire for power and improvement as well as some aspects to sexual matters. The remainder 20% it's up to you guys, Though personally I think is Asia Argento. Which isn't all there is since later on she becomes a different persona upon reaching a mutated state that her silver hair becomes PINK that just gives off and astounding air of confidence.
Yurishia Farandole: This character can only give you one flashback, That is the black haired beauty Akeno from High School DxD. The is a sadist and a tease all the same but on a much open form for interaction. she comes from a wealthy family of America.
An American on the Japanese "Amaterasu" team, former leader of the american "Masters" team. though she posses traits of a sadist she mostly gives off an older sister if not motherly vibe. she has the trait of being very protective of those she cares about and/or those on her team as made evident on episode 2 and sent Kizuna away trying to beat the danger herself and confirmed later on when her conflict with the current head of the "Masters" Scarlet Fairchild was revealed. Yurishia will not hesitate to lie to her peer to get them out of harms way. even if it means getting herself in deeper danger while trying to resolve what she deems great threats herself.
She often stresses herself being protective and like many on a position of being a care giver she deeply wishes that someone would take care of her as well. this is what opens up and new section and allows for her to become the "receiver" or "masochist" since she is into BDSM and / or S&M. as she can get into either role but harbors desire to be the one receiving the punishment since it allows her to escape all the burdens she places on herself.
Hida Kizuna : He is the troyan horse of this kind of anime and this anime in particular. At a glance it would deceive you to think he is yet another generic main character who is as dense as condensed milk and as thick as an oak tree.
[Note: I can guarantee that if his design were different and he posses another hair color many would go gaga over him.]
As they say, Looks can be deceiving and this is the case for Hida Kizuna. Masamune Kuji really gave this a thought and gave us an MC with abandonment issues. As a child he was deliberately orphaned by his mother once he proved useless to her on regards to human experimentation and saw her son would prove little as a utility and wasted no time in discarding him as a ragged cloth. since he would no longer present any form of advancement for her experiments and weapon development.
This aspect would prove useful so that he would always seek improvement and a sense of duty to protect his peers. As prude as he is, he disregards it under the shadow of being discarded once again and he feels bound to be useful and often will be angry when told to do nothing. This quality unifies our MC with our heroines who at first went after him lusting for power. this bond with different forms of troublesome pasts that would come crucial on Heart x Hybrids which are literally Love and Lust. All born from self preservation and desire to survive. creating and ever evolving bond between our cast and deepening trust among themselves.
To reiterate the "power" he was lusted after or depending on the countries respective team is lusted after currently. it is because "Heart x Hybrid Points" takes up weeks in going back to normal and time isn't a thing anyone of this world can spare.
Eros his "Magitech Armor" is capable to refill anyone armor restoring in one go their fighting capabilities and capacity being god sent to the teams that wish to triumph and survive. Eros is also capable of mutating any magitech armor increasing power output and granting higher tier weaponry. the weaponry in question can be absorbed by eros granting him any variable weapon he "Climax Hybrid" with which would be the mutated state of the magitech armor after surpassing the limiters of recovering regarding "Heart x Hybrid Points". many disregarding what lewd actions and sentimental proximity needed for it to happen. However understandable why Chidorigafuchi Aine and/or other women from other "Heart x Hybrid" teams want to meet Kizuna and/or stay on his good graces. Kizuna represents an unprecedented advantage for humanity and certainly a trump card that can make any team who has him more resilient in battle and power in comparison to those who wait maybe even months to get back to normal once their "Heart x Hybrid Points" are spent.
Hida Reiri is his moral compass and support so that his inner demons don't take over and to remain relevant and useful as his sister fulfilled his mothers role. fulfilled a role that was abandoned after he was discarded by his mother shortly after vanishing altogether.
"A persons value isn't decided by their abilities but on how they live" -Hida Kizuna
A quote that Kizuna always says to himself and that he has found useful to say to many other people to comfort them as his sister has comforted him and gave him hope and his feeling of being useless and ultimately possibly discarded once he becomes useless once again.
If I had to give this character a blend to give you an analogy of who he is or where he stands. I would say he has a 26% Yuki Rito on a degree of pureness and prudeness, Followed by a 54% Basara (Shinmai Maou no Testament) on a sense of duty and desire to protect people or at least help out. The rest is unknown but the direction he is taking is that of Akatsuki Ousawa (Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero). He grows more confident as time transpires and less disturbed by lewdness as time goes on. Needless to say he can get the job done where many MC would have frozen in time.
Overall 9.60: Masou Gakuen HxH creates atmosphere for a good lewdness factor absorbing and not getting on the way of the other genres native to the Tier 2 Ecchi. Such as Date A Live, Infinite Stratos, Hundred, Rakudai Kishi no Calvary and Gakusen Toshi no Asterisk. The characters on Masou Gakuen HxH are designed to chemically open to one another and when it comes to designs. Kuji made the right decision getting the legendary "Hisasi" the Doujin artist do his/her characters.
Masou Gakuen HxH though giving the feeling of cramped, It's well set up since the very beginning. all characters are well knit into each other and each episode can reinforce past episode and/or set up the next on a satisfactory way.

(This review covers both seasons as it was meant to be seen and will be on both seasons review section.)
Shinmai Maou no Testament comes to a close on this final season. I think is fair to say that it excelled as a successful "Ecchi". The Succubus factor not only delivered mind blowing fan service but assimilated well the action elements as well as to rid the common problem of the Hero vs Demon premise suffers from. Locations of peers when kidnapped as well as growth of our protagonist on a steady pace thanks to the aforementioned succubus factor.
We are left with many questions and I
...
certainly feel compelled to check out the Light Novel. The story is standard given spice and the elements thrown by the author are very creative, Made use of many cliches and some ideas found on other Light Novels and boosted them to his advantage.
Art = 8
The art is very good on regards to the cast, not so much on the enemies. The animation was very good however it didn't steal much.
Sound = 8
The sound is very good and the OP / ED were among the best I may add.
Characters = 5
i was a bit disappointed on characters since they seem a bit robotic at times and the personality of the villains was a tad cringy.
Enjoyment = 10
Despite it's flaws I very much enjoyed this anime as a whole. The Ecchi factor which is the heavy weight on this installation came through flying colors and was done unusually and well as some high level Fan Service. If you're an Ecchi fan this is for you, I may warn you it's more extreme than DxD and not as good.
Overall = 8
8 + 8 + 8 + 5 + 10 = 39 / 5 = 7.80 rounding up to the nearest 10th. Overall 8.
