This show starts off really strong and it continues on with a few calculated "ass-pulls". It has many good moments, but it is far from perfect.
Plot: The plot starts off with an interesting premise and a pretty well thought out world. The main character kicks off very weak but with a supremely strong ability, and from there you know the drill. Its nothing outstanding but the general flesh out of the world makes it above average experience. The world starts to fumble a bit when the writer obviously put the character in an impossible situation and then had to create a new way for
...
him to get out. So I would say the show with its worldbuilding and its interesting premises starts off with a 7/10, it then drops dramatically to a 5/10. And thus the score.
Score: 6
Soundtrack: The soundtrack is amazing. Not every single one of them. But when battle kicks off, you are sure in for a treat. When you are in a bar? you wont be disappointed. Opening theme is mid. Nothing spectacular but it gets the job done.
Score: 8
Art: The art sometimes is eye candy with great choreography and battle movement and other times its more of a miss and less of a hit. It really looks like some episodes were either rushed, or they only wanted to give emphasis on the two Bs, battles and b**bs. Lots of the second, most of them unnecessary.
Score: 6
Characters: The beginning of the show shows great character development and good character backstory. After this is all set and done, every character becomes a tool for the main character to jump on in case of trouble. Of course when you have 12 episodes and 30+ different characters, some of them will get minimal time, and this looks really bad in the long run. The worst offender of all was the last battle where it looked more like a power rangers unite moment rather than a hardship episode. Again starts off with a 7 and then drops to 5 or 4.
Score: 6
Personal Enjoyment: I liked the beginning but not so much the continuation of it. I am a sucker for robust plots and beautiful visual don't do it for anymore. I need the plot to make sense and be well thought out. So the show lost me after some time.

This little anime right here showed the big boys what it is all about. A combination of wonderful character development, really welcoming and innovative story telling and a sometimes teary and easy going approach to the genre. (No spoilers)
Plot: The plot is simplistic. A tried and tested approach of an episodic anime where every episode can be viewed on its own but with a greater story behind running all through the 12 episodes. What really sets it apart from the run of the bunch anime, of this structure, is that every episode has meaning, it has a greater purpose, everything happens for a reason and
...
that I really appreciate. Its really well thought out for what it makes you think it is. You go in expecting mediocrity and it turns the tables and gives you a pleasant experience.
Score: 7
Sound: The soundtrack is really pleasant and fitting, it kicks in to tear jerk you even more at times where that is the focus of the plot. It is a nice and soothing soundtrack. Nothing extraordinary.
The opening track is a really nice Usagi Drop style of opening, cutesy and something when it catches me off guard It makes me tear a little bit.
Score: 7
Art: The art is above average, the animation is smooth, the characters are well presented with no misses on how well the characters are drawn, its not extraordinary, but Its good enough to make you appreciate the atmosphere.
Score: 6
Characters: The anime has 12 episodes. And it manages to smoothly get you to understand the main character, love him for his flaws and see his growth. It present a realistic timeline with reoccurring pains and it reminds you how a media can be so alive and human. Most of the side characters are not seen through very deeply as this is only a 12 episode series, but you get to know them a bit and every single one of them brings out a kindness in their actions, none of them are bad people and its really refreshing to see a person be surrounded by kindness.
Score: 9
Personal Enjoyment: I enjoyed this show very much. It was one of my favorites of this period and I am glad , even thought the name and the art suggested mediocrity , that I got to watch it and appreciate it. If you are tired of drama and want a breath of fresh air but without sacrificing the good level of storytelling, give this show a chance.

This is a completely biased review, this is my favorite show, and that might affect how i view and describe things. So lets get right into it. Story 9,5/10. You are up for a ride. Yes. The first season consists of amazing story line, great naration, miraculous plot twists and of course a mild taste of harem which is the reason my biased rating is not absolute 10/10. I wont spoil any bit of it because everything is well placed and beautiful. I could go on for some time, about how spectacular everything is. But lets just leave it at that, you wont be disappointed
...
if you are a lover of a fulfilling storyline. Characters 8/10 that's basically the only part that I ll try to leave my biases behind in terms of story elements. The characters are throughout well designed but not properly explained. The Visual Novel as well as the extra movies(+ans extra season of explaining and side storying) addresses pretty well. But as a sole series you only see the tip of the mentality of side characters such as Makise and/or Haxor. Could they have been less blunt? No, that was the point of the show. But addressing the problems is justified. The story really is centered in a way that over explaining on each character would be pointless and hurtful for the plot itself. Art 8,5/10. Its pretty, its not Violet Evergarden level, but its pretty, the scenery, the close ups, the opening art, the meaning behind almost everything. Subtle, but as it should be. Soundtrack/Music:10/10. This is the sole category that creators overdid themselves. Everything is on point. Subtle. They took the extravagant sounds of the VN and created a fitting work that is nowhere else to be seen, with only a few exceptions. Its really a great experience and no words can describe such majesty. Adressing the upcoming judgement on this: Its not epic, it was never created to be epic. Its not comperable with epic soundtracks such us Shingeki no Kyojin,Violet Evergarden or Rainbow. To end this review I will give my honest opinion, Its the best scientific/dramatic anime of its genre. Everyone should watch it. Even if they dislike it, Its a masterpiece that should be watched by everyone. Thank you.

Lets jump right into it. This is a piece of art. Every anime is. And this is no exception. First of all, we got the storyline. Story 5.7+/10. This is the part you have to reaaally get through. Its one prime example of a generic isekai (travelled to a different universe, is it a videogame? No idea. It looks like it, yeah? No! Yeah!) It really contradict with itself as those point where it doesn't know if it wants to be a VR experience for the MC or just completely different universe. Those aspects exactly can be a little confusing and because of it you
...
fail to get dedicately immersed into the anime. Ignoring that its your classic fantasy medieval with a taste of originality and creatures of different worlds and perspectives. It will leave a mild harem taste in your mouth. So pick your poison. Secondly we have characters. Characters 7,5/10. This is a mixed bag. The main character (mc) also knows as "edge lord" is someone teenagers can relate to. Kind of a weeb, but not entirely. There are the generic friendly swordsmith, the good army, the crazy eccentric princess and of course the Pope that always refers to God upon his actions. On the other hand we have a somewhat original (or not so well used) Raphtalia, and her story. On another note, we have the 3 heroes. That really, leave a mild taste in the mouth. All in all characters are pretty interesting and make the show enjoyable at best, and at worst they are just there. Next on the animation department. Animation - Art 6/10. It's once again pretty 2019 generic. There is a fair amount CGI. Which they try to minimize in most cases but its there and its distracting. The characters and pretty well animated with a wide range of facial expressions and patterns (especially the melate ones). Effects are top average and they don't impress in any case. Landscapes don't try to leave a comment or an impression. They are generic. Next we have maybe my personal favorite in this show. Music and soundtrack 9/10. One thing they did right, was to put amazing music to appeal to me. I think they took it personally at this point. The music is vivid and matches every single moment of the show, while the back it up with splendid sound effects (most of them not stock). The sound director overdid himself and the producer of most music you will hear is just fantastic. Search for his Spotify albums and be impressed. In the end, is this an enjoyable experience? I recon yes. But that is mostly based on your own oersonal taste and likings. I dont really enjoy harems. I despise them when im looking for a show to watch. But this didn't draw all attention on that. Also there a extremely small ecchi aspect. But so tiny that even if nudity really makes you feel uncomfortable, it wont in this scenario. I recommend it. But, whether you like it or not depends on you.

Let me be transparent with you. This is a biased review of my favorite anime of this genre. I will critique and explain why that is. But almost everything falls into the category "Absolutely perfect, couldn't have been done better". Now that the disclaimer has been set, lets begin. Story 9,5/10. This is like the strict part of me trying to flourish not accepting the fact that there is a thing called "Perfect story". This series is a the outcome of a few different stories fused together showing the re-life of a young girl with robotic arms. I will say no more on the side
...
of content and only share with you how thrilling and pretty the whole plotline is and how much it provided to the final atonement. Characters 10/10. After all that time i think I know as much for people that have not appeared in the series, as for those thag played a vital role in the story. Everyone comes from a place and has a incredible background. Violet builds that backround and makes you tear with the way she teaches and gets taught. Art 10/10. I dont know if we will ever have the chance to lay our eyes on something like this. Ghibli is the only studio that produced such magesty. People tend to praise the studios that use the more unusual style of animation, but we forget that if we harvest and build on the "usual", then that can be spectacular as well. From thr reflections, to the detailed characters and landscapes. This was one for the ages. Im sorry for the the team that animatwd this, because actually holy freaking shit, you have to suffer for many hundreds of hours in order to make something so detailed and beautiful. Personally, I have a friend that draws and draws for long hours
She manages to produce the most amazing art imaginable. But she also gets hurt by that dedication. Thats why i send my prayers and praises to the team that managed to overcome such difficulty. The animation is amazing. I dont have to say it again. Soundtrack/Music: 10/10. I will be a little biased on this, music is normally not somehting that everybody likes as much, but holly freaking crap. The soundtrack, every part of it, the choirs the instrumentals, the beauty and epicenter. If you dont appreciate it as much as I personally do. Its alright, but everybody has to admire the beauty, dedication and love put into this to make this show legendary. All in all, I tear even trying to post a review on such marvelously. This may be the best history/drama/psychological anime in existence. This is by no stretch of the imagination an overstatement. True love towards the creators and the staff. Bring more of that beauty alive in later projects.
