Not a bad show by any stretch, Dr Stone has an interesting concept which would give it endless possibilities to tell stories. The problem i have with it is I want the show to be more grounded in a scientific based reality. I can buy the petrification and the smaller nitpicks dont bother me. Where it loses me is the anime tropes that seem to drag it down. The superhuman feats and aspects really clash with the methodical effort put into the real science part of the show. I loved watching them work together to make modern day things from scratch using stone age technology ... but then we would be treated to some straight up shounen style action.

That not being the only two things that clash uncomfortably, the light hearted comedic feel to most the show seriously clashes with the darker warlike reality of the situation. it needs to take itself either more seriously or less seriously and i am not sure which. I feel like the world hasn't been established well enough to suspend my disbelief so i am torn between what i want and what i get from Dr Stone
