Recently I started to notice that the One Piece fandom has become really toxic and likes to compare/attack other anime, claiming that "One Piece is the best anime" and I honestly don't understand it.
The pacing alone disqualifies this anime from competing for the title of "best" not to mention the rest of the problems this anime has.
I don't read the manga, it probably doesn't have such big problems with pacing as the anime but never mind... I haven't read it, I won't comment, I mean the ANIME which is far from what One Piece fans think about it...
Let's start with the ultra awful pacing... it's
...
best illustrated by comparison to Jojo (a manga that has a similar number of total pages as Ona Piece) out of 80 volumes of the manga there are 190 episodes of Jojo (parts 1-5) and ATTENTION... as many as 755 episodes of One Piece, this series is so stretched and doesn't compensate for it with anything.
The One Piece anime, trying to prevent it from catching up with the source material (as other long series try to do), does the worst thing possible.
Other similar series prevent this with filler episodes, One Piece stretches/dilutes the original plot to the limits of its possibilities, drastically reducing its value, in the case of other series, episodes that are not part of the main plot could be easily skipped, in the case of One Piece there is no such possibility because the filler is written into the episode, it's just a tragedy.
But OK, this anime has terrible pacing but is the plot really good anyway? No, it's average and ultra formulaic.
This anime had the potential to be a really good adventure anime, 1000 episodes give the opportunity to tell about really many adventures of our heroes, however (also touching on the pace) we are trapped for several hundred episodes in one place and once again, most of it is not compensated by anything special.
Because yes, most of the arcs (apart from the mass of pointless, boring and too long plots in between) look almost identical, the schematic nature of this anime is terrifying:
The crew arrives on a new island -> Luffy meets new friends who are terrorized by a bad guy -> Luffy and the rest split up, Luffy runs to the boss and the rest beat up the minions -> Luffy fights the boss as always and Zoro and Sanji fight the vice captains, there are some exceptions but overall it looks the same, without any surprises.
The fact that the characters always run somewhere for almost half of each arc is already a meme.
I'm not saying that the plot is tragic, it has a lot of good moments but it's still far from very good.
Moving on...
"Dragonballization" from the beginning of the Wano arc, this anime decided to start moving towards Dragon Ball, when previously the fights of the most popular characters in this universe looked good but still mundane, in the Wano Arc suddenly the power scale skyrocketed, they started introducing various colorful auras and a lot of different exaggerated effects, it introduces a huge inconsistency compared to the rest of the anime.
It seems like One Piece is losing its entire atmosphere in favor of the exaggerated efficiency we see in today's shounen, but they have been like that from the beginning and do not seem inconsistent like One Piece, which started introducing all this crap relatively recently.
One Piece lost a bit of "it" after the time skip, it seems like the character interactions became less natural, more forced and there are fewer of them in general due to more frequent character separation, some characters lost their character and meaning, Usopp and Chpper were mostly reduced to boring comic relief.
Luffy (MC) well... his lack of development hurts me, the lack of development itself is not a bad thing BUT when the plot hits the hero with a traumatic event that screams "you idiot, you have to learn from this" and he gets up and moves forward without a moment's hesitation... it's stupid and makes this dramatic and important event irrelevant.
Luffy lost his entire crew due to his own stupidity (he was convinced of it) and what does he do in the rest of the story? he repeats the same mistake without a moment's reflection and provokes the emperor without any real preparation, stupid characters are cool and funny until their stupidity is simply annoying and gives the feeling that the character is completely empty. Additionally, for the vast majority of the time, Luffy stood out because unlike other anime of this type, he does not have hidden powers, he motivated by the fact that with seemingly weak powers, thanks to his willpower, he was able to pursue his goal, cliché? Yes, it works? Yes, but the author decided to surprise everyone and make Luffy a divine chosen one with divine powers and all this in the name of what? The "symbol of freedom" narrative does not compensate for this because Luffy is ultimately no different in this respect from the rest of the typical shounen MC.
Yes, Luffy is a "symbol of freedom" even though he doesn't see himself as such, but in the end it seems like he's just an idiot and does whatever he wants, the fact that he frees the oppressed doesn't matter because he only does it when his friends are imprisoned, his perspective is limited and if he doesn't see that someone has a problem he won't help them, he won't stop the world government which is a symbol of oppression xD but still, being a "symbol of freedom" doesn't require being a divine chosen one at the same time, what's the value of all that determination Luffy has and everything he's been through so far? if at the end, when the ceiling was too high, the author came up with an ultra big plot twist and gave MC divine powers is completely uninspiring and contradicts what we've seen in most of One Piece.
All that I wrote above is not everything, there would definitely be something more, but I didn't sit with a notebook in my hand while watching this anime and I don't remember everything, so well....

It's been over a year since I watched it and I still... think the path this anime went down is wrong.
I won't rewatch it and I'll just trust my memory.
This won't be a review either, I'll just write a few things that were really awful to me.
Not to mention the huge drop in production quality that despite most of the fandom coping, was objectively quite big, it killed a lot of the epic scenes that all manga readers were waiting for and no amount of thinking that the animators did everything they could will change that.
I loved this anime up until the rumbling started but
...
almost everything that happened after was just a disappointment, although at the time I watched it I didn't think it was that bad, but in retrospect I see/think that Isayama had absolutely no idea what would happen after the rumbling started.
Attack on Titan was often compared to titles like Game of Thrones, people praised the brutal world and the fact that "no character was safe" and you can agree with that, unfortunately now these comparisons go even further and Aot, like GoT, loses all its atmosphere and gives its characters who are loved by fans, a huge plot armor (yes, Hanji had her senseless sacrifice but still..) Levi lives only because he is the most popular character in this anime, we stop having the feeling that the characters are real people, we only see "chosen ones" like superheroes from Avengers, I'm not saying that the desire to save the world = Avengers but a small group of these wonderful and unique characters who, accompanied by plot armor, go to save the world and manage to defeat the fucking "God" gives me some Avengers vibes. But before that, these "good chosen ones" have to slaughter their old comrades, ok it seems to add something and show that it's not that easy and these heroic saving the world will require getting your hands dirty but the way it was presented in the anime is pure comedy, as if Mikasa ran a sword through a young boy which was enough to kill him BUT... additionally she had to blow up their corpses just to look "cool" in the rain of their blood XDD
Overall the final battle made the world building really disappointing, even though we skipped the island the world didn't end up being that much bigger, what do I mean? is all the world has to offer against Rumbling a few airships? and ships? is that all the world has to offer even though they were terrified of Rumbling? Everything that led to the final battle and how it looked was simply too simple/straightforward, there were no plot lines that would make the finale believable and diversify how our heroes simply chase after Rumbling, I think that the Tybura family plot was wasted and could have enriched the final battle, the family that feared Rumbling the most could have had some knowledge about the weakness of the founding titan, some secret special forces that would be prepared to repel the march of colossal BUT we got some shit with dropping explosive barrels from airships, which of course failed and everything rested on the shoulders of our chosen group who forgot about the previous seasons and do not know that gas, blades, lightning spears and titan energy, are ending, if Isayama had time and planned the final battle better, he could have supported our heroes with some army, this army could have been armed with experimental special weapons that could have been somehow mentioned earlier by Magatha who was close to Tybur, our heroes could refill gas and everything else on airships and Falco could rest until the last flight to Eren, so that the fact that he has been in titan form for so long despite only his second transformation, would not seem so stupid, Isayama had a lot of room to show off to make the whole finale more logical, so that all the previously established rules were respected BUT NO... we literally got crap in the style of Avengers where everything, everyone happily succeeded, the whole fight with those titans summoned by Ymir was a festival of weak writing.
Eren...yes, everyone knew that he cared about his friends and everything was just a "game" it wouldn't be a big surprise so what did Isayama do? he did something that no one really expected, no one had the right to expect xD he literally canceled the entire fucking development of Eren, a character that everyone (almost) praised for developing in season 4, a character who became really radical in his actions and everyone was able to deeply understand why he was like that, even those who didn't like him BUT *PLOT TWIST* Eren is the same idiot as in the first season and doesn't know what he's doing... why? no one expected him to be just a cold "Sigma" I expected him to finally crack and show emotions but I didn't expect that his whole "New Character" is just "acting" xDDD this is probably the most important disappointment in history!!
Additionally, his pseudo romance with Mikasa... or "romance" that was just a meme for season 1-3 and no one NOBODY took it seriously and in the fourth season they only got a few scenes of something that can be perceived as the real construction of their relationship, can it be the most important element of the finale? there's nothing more pathetic than Eren going from being completely indifferent romantically towards Mikasa for 90% of the anime to someone so desperately in love, really those few sad looks Eren gives Mikasa don't build it up enough.
Plus that idiotic vision of Mikasa at the end...I don't remember what it was exactly (I hope it was just a false illusion and not an alternate reality)
Was our asshole, infinitely in love with Mikasa, Eren, able to leave his people/other friends and run away with Mikasa? Someone will say "oh just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's bad" IT'S BAD...it's a complete denial of Eren's nature and character and all in the name of this hopelessly written romance, in the entire anime there's probably only one dialogue between them that shows that they have any real chemistry and it doesn't work only on the principle that Mikasa has a comical obsession with Eren XD Mikasa's character in general, if she had something in her than love for Eren and wasn't a literal Pikachu who instead of "pika" says "Eren" then maybe I would be able to take it seriously and it wouldn't seem like a forced comedy.
I don't want to write anymore...
To start the rumble 10/10
Next 6/10

For me, this anime is simply the definition of guilty pleasure and I will not recommend it because objectively it is shit.
This anime seemed ultra exaggerated most of the time but at the same time quite realistic in its whole toxicity festival, but in the end it turned out to be just edgy shit, for the sake of being edgy shit xD
Despite everything it was quite interesting from a certain point, mainly because it was simply pleasant to be irritated by the stupidity of the characters who, as I said, are quite realistic, in the sense that it is easy to imagine that teenagers can
...
behave in such an irrational way, but despite everything (not even counting the finale) I couldn't take these exaggerated idiocies seriously, it's just that every character in this anime was written to be the worst or most disturbed person in the world and none of them (apart from Katsura up to a certain point) could be rooted for, was it really impossible to make one normal character who would think logically and be a counterbalance to all this irrational shit?
The funniest thing about this anime is the fact that the MC, who is just an "ordinary guy" and is distinguished only by extreme idiocy and thinking with a penis, is some kind of magnet for girls who are obsessively in love with him for no reason at all, it's so stupid and unbelievable, he doesn't even try, he doesn't manipulate or anything, he just is and all the girls fall for him and literally kill for him, which makes it all seem like some loser's fantasy, although looking at the ending, I'm not sure if anyone could fantasize about something like that.
Katsura seemed like the best character and you could even root for her, understand why she wants to be with this idiot but from a certain point she just became a typical boring yandere, did some guy piss me off? oh well, I have to see the MC xD Katsura's whole storyline was ultimately ultra shallow and forced edgy, which made it simply boring and imo it had the potential to be something better.
In general, all the female characters in this anime really only serve as MC's sex doll and they don't really exist outside of the MC so well... people who claim that the characters in this anime are somehow particularly complex (I've seen people like that) are funny xD
Besides, I find it funny that adults don't exist in this anime and such stupid things as a school festival where students have a special room to "fuck" can exist xD
Imo 4/10 because at least it stands out from all the school romances I've watched so far.

This won't be a full review but this movie was such a waste of excellent animation and a great soundtrack that I just have to write why this movie is MID.
The plot seems to be based on the Little Mermaid motif combined with a strange world where Tokyo has been locked in a huge bubble with a different gravity inside and the outcasts who stayed there take part in "parkour races"
Leaving aside the unconvincing romance that refers to the little mermaid, the basis of the whole story makes no sense at all, the plot is built on stupidity that makes it impossible to take this
...
story seriously.
In the beginning...
They meet a girl who acts like a retard, she hasn't said a word and no one has thought about who she is and they don't ask any reasonable questions, no one has tried to talk to her and they accept the fact that she acts like an animal, especially a scientist who is a fucking SCIENTIST. This scientist is an adult, she wouldn't think that someone might be looking for this girl and she didn't report it anywhere, everyone just wants to include her in the team right away XDD and the only doubts about it are only one boy but he's simply jealous of her, although his jealousy or something didn't matter in the end and disappeared as quickly as it appeared.
Besides
The strangest anomaly in the world, some strange red thing floating in the air...and only one scientist who investigates it further and is there, besides literally no one was assigned to protect her from above even though the city is full of "outcasts" and she has expensive equipment for research XDD it should be a phenomenon and the most guarded and researched area in the world, something more should take place around it and not serve as a playground for children, would such governments of the world allow this?
The action in this anime makes no sense...
These parkours make no sense, the only goal is to capture the flag, the antagonists have special equipment that gives them a big advantage and they could quickly fly to the flag, but they prefer to use some strange complicated strategies and even when they succeeded and our heroes stood still because they were trapped, the antagonists did not capture this stupid flag at that time and probably also stood still for some reason XDD
I don't want to talk about this anime, I could elaborate on the fact that the plot is predictable, boring exposition, flat characters and mostly really meaningless despite this, this anime gives them some big moments from the ass, that the plot of the blue-haired girl who is a "copy of the little mermaid" is completely unengaging because unlike the little mermaid, we didn't see her previous life and we don't buy her addition at all that she "is finally herself" blah blah the ending is of course the standard boring ray into space (that weird red thing) like in Avengers and characters who forget about the instinct of self-preservation, go to risk their lives for a girl they knew very briefly, all without exception in the name of the ult anticlimactic power of friendship (I probably forgot something and there is more)
I could expand on all this, maybe add some pluses apart from the animation and soundtrack but as I said, this movie is so boring and unengaging that it's a waste of time.
I'll give it one plus...
These perfidious ads for Coca-Cola, Fanta and something else were pretty funny XDD

🟡Summer 2024
This is probably one of the most underrated anime of this season, although is there really anything to appreciate here? Overall, this series seems to be a victim of the fact that there is already a similar anime by the same author that stole the hearts of many people, but I haven't watched Hyouka so my review will not compare these two titles.......
So... the plot is that our duo of slightly (really very) eccentric high school students with extraordinary detective skills "try to live normally" what does that mean? it means that they cannot interfere in other people's affairs and solve their problems (puzzles)
...
but they always do it without a moment's thought and the anime itself does not really give the viewer a sense of why they want to be perceived as normal at all, the main goal of this story that holds together all these episodes based mainly on the puzzle, seems poorly built and senseless. Some of the dialogues seem as if our heroes were some superhuman beings who for some reason have to lower themselves to the level of humans.
But still...
The characters, dialogues, atmosphere, animation and the puzzles themselves are enjoyable.
Overall, most of the time this anime is an extremely slow, calm and simply relaxing SoL that surprisingly does not focus only on school nonsense and gives the viewer a breather by expanding the action to the entire peaceful town (with some exceptions) in which our heroes live, everything seems so homely and slow.
We observe the daily lives of the characters, who are not too many in this anime, but each one gets the right amount of time, which is mostly used for dialogues that are great/sometimes a bit monotonous but still, thanks to the direction it is really enjoyable to watch.
You will not see here the exaggerated reactions typical of anime or fan service, unless you count the existence of the protagonist as that.
Our duo, despite a certain sense of superiority and rather exaggerated self-control, is likeable and full of character, they are slowly built, this anime does not pour out a lot of information at once but doses it appropriately, gradually, we learn that our characters are not what they seem at first glance.
The formula of this anime is one riddle per episode, the riddles usually start and end in the same episode and generally serve to some extent to develop the characters.
Although the plot revolves around everyday life and does not really go anywhere, the characters simply exist in their own strange way, not rushing into anything, there are also longer plots that concern something more exciting and are a nice break from the slight monotony that someone might feel watching the characters solve riddles about trivial matters.
Ok...the puzzles are not about important things, but that's what makes this anime seem unique, it looks at the seemingly boring and calm reality that most of us live in and tries to find something interesting in it, you can feel like in your childhood years where thanks to your vivid imagination, everything seemed more interesting, the characters in this anime delve into something so absurd, for a moment they forget that it's ordinary and boring, they get into it and take it seriously, this dissonance between an ordinary insignificant thing and how seriously the characters take it, has a certain charm to it.
Really, I know it's not for everyone but I see some beauty in how an ordinary hot day when you're just eating cake with a friend can turn into something exciting without adding who knows what, we just have a boring reality and a vivid imagination of our characters. The way they are solved seems quite unpredictable, you really wonder "how did he make this fucking cocoa" and you enjoy following the course of this absurd "series of deductions" of MC, although some conclusions may be nonsensical, far-fetched, without proper support, based on fragmentary information and it may as well turn out to be something else, however MC is sure that he is right and it always turns out that he is, at the same time sometimes MC does not do some obvious thing, just so that the puzzle is not solved too easily.
If I had to find fault with something else when it comes to puzzles, it seems to me that the fact that Kengo (MC's friend) is always involved in these puzzles somehow and he is the one who usually assigns them may seem tedious, it would be better if MC accidentally got involved in them in random places, observing everyday life and finding a puzzle in them, I think that something like that could add even more charm to this anime.
But back to the theme of this anime....
It really seems completely irrelevant and incoherent.
Starting with the fact that MC always engages in all these puzzles without a moment's hesitation despite his serious approach to this matter of "being normal" and the only moment when he is able to hold back/is reluctant is not when his friend assigns him a puzzle "who ate the donut" but when his best friend is in serious trouble, only then MC has to be convinced to use his skills....yes
Generally the reason why MC decided to be normal is the fact that "people don't appreciate him, they don't want his help" but he just says it and the anime itself doesn't show in the present any negative effects of MC engaging in puzzles, as if the characters are having fun and nothing happens because of it and then they dramatically say "God, I did it again, I promise it won't happen again" (it will repeat throughout the anime) or MC will be excited "oh I did it again, but I'm rude, I'm playing with fire" xDD
REALLY our duo's approach to the issue of being normal, it seems like a couple of superhumans who are above all these human issues, have to lower themselves to the level of humanity despite seeing the absurdity in its existence, because there is no point in being better in a world adapted to ordinary people where the stupid common folk do not even notice your superiority and try to bring you down to their level....yes, maybe I am prejudging but really, the whole theme of being "normal" is a bit like that, I expected some analysis of human nature and idk, celebrating ordinariness like riddles do (from my perspective) and I think I got a bit of "elitist" gibberish which in itself may not be bad but the inconsistency and general senselessness of it all, does not allow me to engage 100% in the story.
But still...
I think this anime is quite good and the characters and their interactions are really fun to follow.
MC and Osanai are a duo of eccentric teenagers who don't fit into normal society, while MC is still quite normal and has friends, Osanai is a complete weirdo and it seems that she can only get along with MC who is her shield from uncomfortable situations.
Although most of the time, mainly at school, their relationship is quite calm? However, it seems that in everyday life outside of school they are more open and show their true character, they compete with each other and are not so nice to each other that they throw up, which is really fun to watch, additionally it is refreshing that there does not seem to be any romantic relationship between them, just a pair of super and intelligent friends.
As I said earlier, we don't have too many characters here, especially the important ones who get any development, but looking at the number of episodes it was a good decision.
For me, the most important asset here is undoubtedly the character of Osanai who introduces the most confusion and emotions to this anime, she clearly has the most character out of the entire cast and watching her on screen is simply pure pleasure, on the one hand a charming and shy girl who is obsessed with sweets, and on the other a strange, vengeful and terrifying genius who will destroy your life if you cross her. Unfortunately, sometimes her relationship with MC seems poorly written, for example... Osanai is sad and runs out of school saying where she will be waiting, MC guesses that it is something serious and what does he do? Yes, he ignores her and goes to solve another puzzle that his friend assigned him, not to mention the countless previous times when he interrupted a meeting with Osanai because that fucking Kengo wanted something, MC ignores his friend and nothing comes of it, although it should affect their relationship... ahh poor Osanai.
Apart from that:
-The animation is brilliant, one of the best in this season which is surprisingly high level in this respect.
The backgrounds are extremely detailed and have great compositions.
The cinematic strips, despite the initial discomfort, give an interesting atmosphere.
The animation is very detailed, all these everyday things are so well animated, you look at someone pouring milk into a cup and you say WOW, the same with the animation of gestures and facial expressions of the characters which help with the dialogues.
-The dialogues are very well written, you just flow through them and everything seems natural, a lot of conversations about nothing give more realism, additionally each time the direction diversifies them great, the camera is alive and looks at the characters from different angles.
We also get a nice presentation of emotions using the change of environment which during the dialogue, visualizes what the characters are feeling at the moment.
Although one might complain about the overly calm tone of most of these dialogues, they have a calming effect and do not throw you off the rhythm of this anime with some typical, over the top reactions.
- The soundtrack is great, it perfectly builds up the calm mood and tension, some themes are really dark and atmospheric, as if they did not fit this SoL anime but they work.
Well, even though I was as positive as possible about this anime and overall I liked it, I can't rate it higher than...

I was afraid to watch this anime hearing people's opinions about the tone of this anime and now that I've watched it, I see why so many of these opinions were negative.
This is an anime whose undoubtedly, most important asset is a great, although not perfect production, but is it enough? NO and for me it is one of two examples of anime from this season that shows that animation is not always able to carry anime, although in this case it is not particularly bad, which is why my opinion about this anime is more mixed.........
What is this anime about?
This anime tells the
...
story of an 8-year-old heir to the throne living a carefree life until his family is betrayed and murdered.
MC is saved by a priest who can see the future, who predicts that he will become a great hero, MC begins his journey to save the country and take revenge.
So yes, the action takes place in times when death is an honorable path, and betrayal and violence are everyday life, but MC is different, deep down, he has a strong will to live and wants to fight for his country and build his new relationships on trust. In this anime, the division into good and evil is too blunt, cute kids fight with cartoonishly evil adults, as if we have a fight for power and the evil ones murder everyone left and right and our heroes only the worst monsters, the antagonist must first show how evil he is and deliver his evil monologue so that MC can say "ok, I can kill you" xD so it is already known that we will not experience any moral dilemmas here, MC's path to regaining power will be the only right one, I do not expect any major nuances from this anime, but their lack does not help the rather simple and from my perspective, unengaging plot. Despite this, this anime tries to be the most naturalistic and brutal samurai cinema to some extent, but combined with this loose/naive plot and silly comedy, it doesn't work at all, although it could if this anime allowed these more serious elements to resonate properly, but more on that later....
Moving on.
Overall, it's a classic story from zero to hero, raised as a figurehead MC in whom no one believes, slowly becomes stronger, transforms his "flaws" into advantages and gathers friends to be a great hero in the future and defeat the bad guys, the revenge motive in this story is not very important, MC wants to take revenge but it is not built well, MC is more comedic and laid back, MC's doubts and regret quickly disappear and then he becomes a typical charming boy who gathers friends and influences them with his uniqueness.
The overall plot is that MC hides (plays hide and seek) in the priest's temple, gathers friends and fights villains who were sent to finish off the remnants of the MC clan, the pacing is quite good, although everything that happens does not give us a broader picture of the further development of this story, we simply slowly gather allies in the form of one exceptional kid every two episodes, MC becomes stronger and villains incompetently try to catch him, it is a bit unengaging and honestly at some points really boring despite a large amount of good and incredibly animated action. The plot is pushed forward the most by the character of the priest, he leads our heroes by the hand and tells them what to do thanks to his ability to predict time, he is such a plot key that for the purposes of the script can be a deus ex machina,
although at some point to increase the stakes, his character is set aside so that our heroes can prove themselves on their own, which is of course a plus.
But before that.
The plot is too rushed and poorly built up, the MC's family dies very quickly and before that we only got a few scenes with his brother, we went from idyll to action too quickly and nothing that was supposed to resonate, resonated, we don't build the MC's relationships with the residents or family and then we drop a bomb that doesn't make an impression because of that, although that's also mainly because of the stupid comedy.
The antagonist who seemed nice at first turns out to be evil and it doesn't make any impression "oh why did you betray us?!" I don't give a shit because I only saw one scene with him, it could have been developed, shown who exactly he is and then made a big plot twist with the betrayal, then those scenes where the MC has a grudge against him would really mean something.
This anime, although deeply rooted in Japanese history and peppered with authentic dates and facts from the legendary story of the fall of the powerful Hojo clan, seems more like a bizarre parody where everything is exaggerated to the max, so it's hard to take the "historicality" of this series seriously... OK... this is not a serious anime, it doesn't have to be, and for most it's a loose story, someone will say that it's good that instead of pathos and this banal story, the series diversifies it with comedy, which makes everything stand out, fan BUT... this anime does it hopelessly.
It can't combine seriousness with comedy, where as I mentioned earlier, for some reason despite the loose story and all these absurdities, we also get a lot of brutality presented in an extremely blunt way, it can be done well but this anime doesn't do it.
Like you make the most serious and quite atmospheric scene, flames and dead people, MC wonders how this samurai could betray them and SUDDENLY you ruin it with a stupid priest comedy, where even MC's emotions are presented as comedy, I understand that not everything has to be 100% serious but why make such a serious scene and mix it with such a stupid comedy, this comedy is not even funny or creative in any way, screams and stupid faces do not compensate for this lost opportunity for a really good emotional scene that would allow you to feel the plot in any way.
It's really refreshing when an important scene is finally brought to a serious conclusion, i.e. this anime can do it but for some reason chooses to be this whole mess.
It can be said that since the main characters are children, some elements are presented as if through the eyes of a child, in such a childish and naive way, which makes the narrative seem more interesting and unique, although the children (8-year-olds) in this anime do not fully behave and look their age, they do not differ much in mentality from other, even older, protagonists of this type of anime, the characters are aware, there is no childish naivety in them and they themselves use violence, they are like in any other shounen, which is why it all does not work completely and you do not feel that the whole brutal world presented is really interpreted by a child's mind, I do not know if the author really tried to present it in such a way, but I know that if so, it did not work at all and if he tried, something unique could come out of it, maybe something like Jojo Rabbit directed by Taika Waititi?
Apart from that.
From the time frame in which the action takes place and the whole atmosphere, we are thrown out by things like a literal hockey game or some inserts with elements of computer games, not to mention of course the supernatural abilities of the characters xD so if you are looking for a historical anime in which you can feel the atmosphere of those times then.... I think this is not the best choice.
Despite the average plot and tonal mess, the action saves this anime to some extent.
The action is interesting and well written, despite the characters having supernatural abilities, the fights do not look like in typical shounen, the fights are usually short and concise, the characters have logical strategies and do not win by simply being screams and the power of friendship.
Everything is supported by beautiful animation and direction, they convey emotions in a creative way, we rarely get scenes in which the action is presented in an uninteresting way.
You can write a lot about great animation but this review is already quite long so... yeah, others have already praised this aspect enough.
Although, despite the fact that the production is clearly the strongest point of this anime, due to very visible drops in quality at certain moments (ugly CGI, lack of faces even from close shots), looking at it generally it is hard for me to be particularly impressed with it all.
Ultimately, this anime, although not bad, did not win me over at all and exhausted me terribly, so it is hard for me to rate it, but somehow I have to.

🟡Summer 2024(I think)
I admit that I have never watched the original Terminator trilogy with Arnold Schwarzenegger, the only movie from this universe that I watched as a kid was Terminator Salvationc (2009) and I remember it very well, that's why I couldn't miss the premiere of this anime and after watching the whole thing I say that it's really quite good, although after the first episodes I had mixed feelings......
This anime is an alternative version of the Terminator story from the perspective of Japan, MC who is a scientist, created his AI to stop Skynet from annihilating humanity, at the same time Eiko (resistance fighter)
...
and Terminator (killing machine in the service of AI) come from the future, whose targets for various reasons are MC and his AI.
Well...the plot starts slowly, at first it may seem too straightforward and sometimes a bit boring, the rather bloody action didn't help either, because it was filled with a lot of nonsense and was lazily written, which I will mention at the end. But from a certain point the plot is much more intricate, surprising and focused, we get really few "unnecessary scenes" at the beginning everything seemed very predictable and it was, but towards the end we got some really interesting plot twists that made more or less sense, as for all this nonsense about time travel which I personally hate because in this type of plots there is always a lot of stupidity and paradoxes, but this anime seems to be aware of it and explains quite well how all this stuff about going back in time really works, that it is impossible to change the future, despite this the whole plot is based on the fact that Skynet sends the Terminator for this purpose, although it will not affect the time from which it was sent, additionally some facts that will be explained at the end make me feel that there is a lack of any consequence in all this. Most of the time we observe two main plots, namely how the characters chase each other with the terminator (it is done in a more or less satisfying way) and how the MC lies/sits/stands and talks to his AI trying to convince it to help humanity and stop Skynet but the cold calculation of the AI that sees no reason for humans to survive, apart from their selfish survival instinct, is a tough opponent haha
We get a lot of interesting moral dilemmas, although all these moral and philosophical considerations are just long monologues from the characters who speak directly, the anime does not present it in a particularly interesting way, the AI will simply give you a whole argument about how "humans are evil, they are a cancer to the Earth and must be eliminated" blah blah.
Sometimes it seems that the series has too much pathos during the MC's conversations with the AI and tries to be smarter than it really is, which can give way towards the end because I think that this plot ultimately turned out to be a bit too naive and too easily resolved, but still this whole plot is interesting, it can provoke thought and we get some pretty interesting concepts.
But getting back to the plot in general, almost all the plots develop nicely (although the Skynet plot seemed a bit ignored) and connect with each other, characters that at first glance might seem uninteresting get some nice development, characters have to make really difficult decisions, everyone has the right amount of time, mainly because we don't really have too many characters here.
Of course, not all of them are particularly interesting and the interesting ones aren't outstanding, but everyone gets "something", has their own task and doesn't seem like a complete filler.
Mr. Terminator, who at first seems bland and makes no impression at all with his bulging eyes, becomes really cool and generally expressive throughout the anime, I like how often she changed clothes, once we had a slicked-down man in a suit and once we had some I don't know... shaman or something haha
Another plus is that the world reacts to everything that's happening and the police/military are interested, although it wasn't on such a scale (especially when it comes to the military) that I would have expected but still, the world is alive, but due to the limited budget, the cities seem deserted.
Unfortunately, we also get a few plot simplifications and quite a lot of stupidity, for example, the resistance movement, which in the post-apocalyptic future barely makes ends meet, is able to steal ultra-important data on time travel from Skynet, which was protected (from what we saw) by only one Terminator, additionally they are able to build a damn time machine... not very credible.
Terminator slaughters randoms who have no self-preservation instinct and attack him, sacrificing their lives for our main characters (randoms from their perspective) and our heroes don't even mention it and the plot forgets about their "glorious deeds" XDD
Action scenes:
The accuracy of the character depends on the scenario, the character runs straight and the machine specialized in killing cannot hit him, really, I don't know who came up with this, how on earth these bullets don't hit.
We also have a lot of plot armor where the characters survive impossible situations, the antagonist, although previously presented as ruthless and finishing off his victims, suddenly after defeating the main character, they leave him just like that without killing him, just because the scenario tells them to.
Eiko seems like a human terminator and her endurance and skills/strength are simply poorly written, which made it hard to feel respect for the Terminator at the beginning, because he gets his ass kicked by a "regular woman" yes, he keeps getting up and may seem like an unstoppable force but after the 10th time you manage to knock him down, it doesn't make such an impression anymore, at least that's how it was at the beginning, then it seems better, the action scenes also seem more logical in general, which means they are finally satisfying, brutality and a lot of blood definitely help with all of this.
Animation:
Mmm...it's not bad, although it's not good either, you could say it's average.
We get a lot of, often not very good CGI and a bit of recycled animation.
2D is pretty decent but could have been better, the animation is often quite wooden but of course we also get a few really good sequences so despite everything there's something to look forward to.
We also have a censorship that I hate, where instead of setting the "camera" at such an angle that you can't see intimate places, you just draw boobs without nipples, it looks so weird that..yeah.
Overall, if I were to rate the animation itself, a 6/10 would be a reasonable rating.
The soundtrack also deserves special mention, as it was able to turn up the excitement of a given scene.
To sum up... it's simply worth watching, even though my review is quite critical.

🟡Summer 2024
Roshidare is probably the most popular and overrated anime of the summer 2024 season, but it's still quite enjoyable and if you're not tired of romcom clichés, it's worth watching in your free time......
This anime is a pretty standard school romantic comedy and doesn't really stand out from other anime of this type.
The story revolves around a boy named Masachika who is of course surrounded by the most beautiful and unique girls in the entire school, one of these girls is Alya, half Russian, half Japanese, she is in love with MC but hides it from him, being just a typical rude tsundere,
...
her true feelings, she is only able to express using Russian, she thinks MC will not understand her but WARNING "Plot twist" MC understands our white-haired tsundere, what does it mean? .... nothing special, it seems to me that it is just an element that is supposed to distinguish this anime by force, not much comes out of it, we do not get a good comedy from it, nor anything interesting plot-wise. Besides, it works as if the MC reads the girl's mind, suddenly at a random moment of conversation, Alya, will say something in Russian, as if nothing had happened, the characters will ignore it but the MC knows what the tsundere really thinks and does nothing specific about it, so the plot will revolve and revolve around these two and a few other pretty girls.
Despite everything, speaking your thoughts in Russian is some kind of variety, although it could be any other language, looking at the title which has the word "Russia" in it I thought that this anime could be some interesting clash of cultures, but it is only what I described above, we only have broken Russian and cringe texts spoken in it, every time I got shivers of embarrassment, really, it could have been better in terms of pronunciation but from what I know, we got what we got because the studio wanted the Russian language to sound more "cute" to the Japanese xD idk
Imo wasted potential.
The overall plot is pretty standard, it's mostly school SoL, typical school stuff like student council and similar uninteresting stuff.
But of course, as in romantic comedies, the most important element is romance and comedy, so yeah...we get a ton of pretty good comedy based on misunderstandings and generally situations resulting from the teenage personalities of our characters with the addition of standard exaggerated reactions and fan service.
The comedy is ultra subjective, for me it was funny enough, definitely better than the deer from the same season xD
Romance...we focus mainly on the relationship between MC and Alya, the pace of development of this relationship seems a bit too slow, especially considering the fact that MC knows how Alya really feels about him, after all we are getting somewhere but
there are various obstacles on the horizon such as MC's childhood love or his sister who is the main source of fan service in this anime and has a "special feeling" for her brother, so we won't get there too quickly.
Overall, it's not some exceptional writing of relationships, we get a lot of clichés, I would say it's just average and a lot of people who have more experience with romcom anime may not like it, for me it's good enough to have a good time with it, along with the funny comedy and some interesting characters.
I forgot the most important thing.... incest xDD
This is the weirdest part of this anime, on the one hand the brother and sister relationship is really cool, they tease each other but at the same time they love each other above all...it's a shame that at the same time we get so many weird sexual scenes between them, which are sometimes funny but mostly awkward and completely unnecessary, it's probably just a controversy forced for publicity. Idk
The characters are quite okay for a romantic comedy.
In my opinion, the brightest point of this anime is the main character, he's not a typical "cunt" he's something between a chad and an embarrassed, lazy loser and finds the perfect middle ground.
Thanks to this, the action seems more credible, we see why all these girls flock to him, the MC is able to surprise a girl with his self-confidence, intelligence and support in a difficult situation.
Finally.
Very pleasing to the eye line and animation.
The ecchi scenes are a plus, the foot fetish has been satisfied (not mine) xDD
But really, thanks to the nice drawings and good animation, the ecchi comes off well... yes, the scene of putting on knee socks, the scene in the changing room and most of the wicked scenes with Yuki were necessary for the plot.
To sum up... I think it's nothing special, just a pleasant comedy, watch it and forget it.

🟡2024---Shika....*slap in the face* shut up already!
The promotion of this anime and the opening song being pushed everywhere is one of the most annoying things in the world, but I must admit that this song is quite catchy xD
So yes, OP deer/10
What is this anime about?
A perfect student with a terrifying past... no, there's nothing serious here, not a single thing, just a mix of various oddities, most often related to deer, tentatively
...
connected by some pretextual "thread" related to the deer club.
Additionally, we often see breaking the fourth wall and references to other anime/movies, Tokyo Revengers or Spiderman, in fact, the funniest part of this anime, like Tobey Maguira's iconic dance, is funny in itself, so adding it automatically adds ridiculousness to this not-so-funny comedy ...yes, it's a comedy that isn't very funny, this anime shows that sometimes less is better.
I know comedy is the most subjective thing in the world, but...
Too fast, too much and too weird, in a childish way, trying to be funny.
Imo, the best comedies are the ones that aren't based on comedy itself, and here, because there's no time to take a break from these quick and weird scenes, most of the jokes don't work, the next "funny line" isn't funny because the characters are constantly trying to say something funny, all the time, and there is no counterweight to it.
Due to the excess it no longer makes an impact after the first five minutes of the first episode and is more irritating, the comedic scene of revealing awkward information about a character doesn't work because the character is already a walking gag and another funny or just weird thing about him is ignored. ....Okay, next one
The character I'm talking about is Tarako (the blonde) was supposed to be a counterpoint to the rest of the irrationally stupid characters but something didn't work out because, as I already mentioned, she is a walking meme herself, it could have been good if, unlike the rest, she was really "normal", unfortunately she is made in such a way the way it feels forced, I don't believe her reactions to weird things when a scene ago she did something equally weird.
This anime isn't even shocking, there's nothing as extreme/controversial as the "sperm fight" from 4s Golden Kamuy XDD, all this absurd humor is very safe, I wouldn't be surprised if it was shown as a children's bedtime series on Japanese TV.
Honestly?
Regular romcom anime, of which there are a lot this season, has much better comedy so... in the end, despite its attempts, like a little child trying to make someone laugh by making stupid faces and pretending to be a monkey, Shikanoko is not even the best comedy of summer 2024.
But.
The girl with the deer is still cool and cute, I like her strange sound and the "shika" in the background, like tribal rituals haha, really that's probably the only reason to watch this anime, not counting the references to other series.
The animation is average, the CGI deer are supposed to be funny, but the 2D is just low budget, but does this type of comedy need anything more? I don't think so...the animation is a stag/10

Pluto... my first association is the dog from Mickey Mouse xD but no, it is an anime based on Naoki Urasawa's manga of the same title.
It is Sci-Fi in a world where "robots" and people live together in society, against the background of which a story takes place where one of the 7 strongest robots in the world was "murdered" and the famous detective Gesicht must find the perpetrator.
It was very enjoyable to watch, but I was a bit disappointed.
So yes...
Imo it definitely stands out from other anime when it comes to the narrative and characters, I
...
felt like I was watching a normal American series.
This anime deals with a very interesting issue regarding human nature, the most prominent one was probably "hate", supposedly you can't build anything out of hate, but it is an essential element to create a perfect robot, overall the philosophical mambo jambo was very nicely done without being pretentious.
A few advantages that first come to mind:
-This anime has a nice atmosphere of anxiety and this untamed evil force lurking somewhere, the antagonist is not visible and it captures the imagination.
-We observe several characters at once instead of following only one in a straight line, and this is done very well.
-All characters are important and none of them seem unnecessary and most, if not all, have interesting plots, I didn't think for a moment that maybe a character had too much screen time because I didn't care about his plot.
-This anime introduces new threads and characters very nicely, it is very fluid, sometimes a character that is introduced does not seem important until suddenly it develops significantly and you can like it.
But as I mentioned, although it was an enjoyable experience, I was ultimately a bit disappointed.
I'm not entirely convinced by the idea that there are thinking and feeling robots living in society, for me this is the biggest drawback of world building, and that's very bad since it is the basis of this series, I'm sure it could all be explained logically, but it doesn't do that .
I understand the idea of an intelligent robot, but what I mean is the sense of filling society with them, I understand one or these 7 intelligent robots, but I don't understand why everyone got such advanced emotions, how does logic work in this world, why would the government or anyone install robots designed to work? such advanced emotions in a factory, why should robots created for military purposes be able to refuse like Epsilon?
As if it makes no sense, we are creating a new social group that will be discriminated against, as if we know that people can discriminate based on skin color, but we will still add thinking robots to society that will take people's jobs and these people will hate them, and then we will patch it with some act against discrimination against robots. xD
It is not logical that the creators of the 7 most powerful war machines gave them the character they wanted, if they are created for a specific purpose, why give them unnecessary functions? What army would order a robot that would oppose them? and the scientists who created them are probably some sadists, since they knew what they would be used for and gave them the opportunity to acquire PTSD xD
I understand why artificial intelligence might want to create a family, go to school and generally imitate humans, but I don't understand why anyone allows them to do so on such a massive scale. Why does anyone need robot dogs? Are there too few normal people in shelters? What are the benefits? including the person who produces them?
In a children's story like "Astro Boy" this might work, but in something that is taken seriously, a scene where the robotic parents are sad about the "death" of their adopted robotic child, but not before they are happy because the child is "learning" to walk, is funny without any specific explanation why it is this way and not otherwise.
I don't know why anyone needs robots pretending to be 1:1 human, why limit them to humanity? and teach them or give them all this human crap? why should a nuclear arsenal be as unreliable as humans?
The anime does not properly establish the concept of thinking robots in its world and builds this entire philosophical veela on these unstable foundations xD
Pluto relies on the detective story for a large part of the time and up to a certain point it is done very interestingly and convincingly, we learn new things in a smooth and understandable way and we get to the truth, although the technology they use for the investigation is a bit of a hassle like some solutions in the series CSA crime mysteries Maiamia but nevertheless fit into this futuristic world.
Towards the end, unfortunately, this detective story seemed to get worse,
sometimes in this detective case there are too many coincidences and shortcuts that make the mystery move forward too easily.
Not everything seems logical and characters don't always act rationally, for example, it was completely ignored that one of the twin robots protecting the professor was hacked and not looked into, and then they sent the other one to protect another important character or (much more important plot) a good character is kidnapped by an evil character and is forced to do something that will have serious consequences, what does the good character do? makes the evil character realize that he can do it himself... and we have an ultra threat that was created by an ultra stupid decision of a character who is portrayed as the smartest one in the series xD
But this is nothing compared to the stupidest illogicality in the entire series that pushes the entire plot forward.
7 robots are not protected even though they are important, just like the people taking part in that important mission in the war, we know that someone is killing the strongest robots and in most of the anime we don't care about their protection at all and then we give one of them, one weak robot, to protect , they should be monitored 24/7, this is one of the most important parts of the story and it was written so hopelessly and unreliably just to make the plot move forward and these robots could die one by one, if it was logical, the murderer was definitely would be useless and would not always have a convenient 1v1 situation to kill.
What's stupid is that a character who easily defeated an antagonist later in the story couldn't help earlier when another character was fighting that antagonist and decided to run away because she would be "useless"
They allow an endangered character to be around their children even though they could be attacked at any time just so there can be a storyline with the kid saying "Bora"
Even though the antagonist clearly poses a threat, the characters are too laid back and don't behave rationally in the situation, why was such an important element presented in such a stupid and irrational way? and then this anime expects that someone will care about some drama related to these characters (usually their death), which is sometimes pushed to the limit, it is also not entirely understandable to me, because even if it survives with its head, the robots die from a hole in the body even though we have examples of the fact that other robots can literally detach their heads and live in another body as if nothing had happened, once again this anime tries to make it in an incompetent way that robots are 1:1 people.
This seemingly "smart" anime is a source of such hopeless writing, it's just a pity.
The most important part of world building in this anime are robots and, as I have already mentioned, it is done completely unconvincingly, the logic of the world has been stretched to the limit, and every now and then you wonder why the world in this story, even though it deals with serious issues, is so poorly constructed e.g. why are robots such an important military force? and the world has nothing else? wouldn't a cannon capable of destroying the MC be effective against the antagonist? why isn't the metal from which the MC is made used for something else, why do we rely on robots in the final battle and humans have no other military power ?
In a series in which world building and all this geopolitics are so important, this is a truly blatant illogicality that does not allow us to take the story seriously and immerse ourselves in it, the worst in this respect is the finale which most shows how empty the world really is in this respect. anime and forces the viewer to suspend disbelief as much as possible.
The last minus is the action, apart from the finale, it is done poorly and you can't really see it, it would be better if we didn't see most of these "fights" and it was all left to speculation.
Ultimately, I really liked it but I can't give it more than 6/10
