Groups of people get stranded on an island and try to survive. In both you can see human behavior when society and morality is stripped from the protagonists. Eden no Ori has more fan service being Ecchi. Jitsatsutou struggles in my opinion because many characters have no distinct features and its really easy to mix them.

I think both shows need to be watched if you like AI/SCI-FI related themes. Steins Gate 0 has Amadeus - computer AI with memories of Kurisu while Ghost in the Shell has Makoto Kusanagi who is an android with a human brain but no recollection of the past. Ghost in the Shell has a lot philosophical commentary on what it is to be an android/human and what is the boundary between them.

Both are a conclusion to the series, both have a sort of twisted (but satisfactory ending in my opinion). Both deal with the characters being controlled by conspiracy and fighting an unknown enemy. Characters on the happy side, not depressed and unfriendly like Evangelion's. But definitely Evangelion has served as an inspiration to this series as a whole. Please watch from Washio Sumi Arc first, same goes for Evangelion, start with the series. Don't watch any of them if weird endings, and heavy stories are not your cup of cake.

Both shows depict tragedy and loss. One is real, the other is a fantasy relying on time travel but the real drama following a tragedy are present in both.

Different type of shows, one is zombie apocalypse, the other earthquake related. Both have characters that search for families and loved ones and deal with the aftermath of the disaster and the break-up of society. Break-up of society and the struggle to survive is greatly portrayed in both anime.

Shinsekai yori

Shinsekai Yori is set in the future 1000 years from now, where humans with telekinesis powers live. Power does not involve vectors but is pretty similar, especially in the way people are killed. I see Shinsekai Yori characters as evolution of Lucy's race 1000 years in the future from the Elfen Lied timeline. Very interesting to see what such a world is like and how a society of humans with special powers has evolved and with what effects to the "others"
