I gave this series a 9/10 overall i find it to be quite amusing, this anime is filled with mystery/suspense and a good amount of horror which makes it amusing to watch at nights.
The story so far is about random deaths occurring within a small village which begins to alarm the local doctor into making an investigation. While some believe the deaths are due to an epidemic, a group of children begin to believe that the deaths are actually murders being pulled off my vampire type creatures.

High school of the dead is pure Hollywood which is a good and bad. The anime is filled with fan service, gore, and extreme situations which makes ever episode pretty damn cool a bit like Hollywood movies which are usually senseless but cool to watch. Your not going fall asleep watching HOTD your actually going to be drawn in by the very first episode. Each episode is morally twisted where characters are faced with crippling decision for example decisions like 'should i ditch my friend to die and live or should i help them'.
I wont lie, this show is primarily trying to get viewers through
...
echi meaning its filled with half naked girls. On top of the girls you have blood thirsty zombies who can turn others into zombies if they happen to bite you.
STORY
Our lead character is Takashi a boring teen age dude who gets lucky to be stuck with a bunch of Hot teenage school girls. Along with takashi, you have Hirano who has a fetish for guns, then you have Busujima a kendo master, Rai a spear girl, a nurse and other females who have different talents. A cool thing about the anime is seeing how the girls use their very different skills to survive.
The story goes as a virus breaks out, people start to become zombies everywhere taking over japan. A group of students fight their way through hoards of zombies which are now crawling all over their school. Now this groups of teens has to mature fast and learn to adopt to this new ugly world where Men are becoming zombies and others are becoming insane. The story does a good job in showing what human society becomes like when chaos devours society.
The story has probably been done before but i find it actually refreshing.
ART AND SOUND
Good and Good
CHARACTERS
A little bit annoying at times, this is one of those animes where the girls are confident and strong while the guys are cowards and weak, so its kinda hard to root for the male characters. ON the other hand the female characters are pretty cool. Each is different and funny in their own way.
OVERALL
Great anime if you just want to have fun!!! HOTD is for anyone that simply wants to see a good zombie based story line. I also recommend the manga which is just as good.

Afro samurai is an interesting anime. But really its only for those who want loads of mindless blood spilling with no comedy, no story, and no character development. The Main protagonists says 2 words per episode!!!
The sound and the Art were outstanding... if i was to grade an anime based on those two, Afro samurai would be a 9, but the truth is Afro samurai failed in every other category as American programs usually tend to do.
Most of the time fights will occur randomly for no reason. There are many random moments in the anime that make no sense... for example one moment our
...
afro hero is cuttin down some foe, the next moment hes in the hospital with no reason given for why hes in there...Compared to shows like Samurai champloo or the lone swordsman, Afro samurai is fail.
I kinda liked how the creators wanted to mix Hip hop with sword fighting but it just didn't feel right, nor does it help you get into the story. The Music sucked, the characters voices were retarded and its hard to take the show serious because of the wacky villians and stupid side kick that fallows afro samurai around.
The show also is a bit gloomy, dark, and disgusting. The creators probably wanted the viewers to feel like crap after watching the series. The worst part is our Hero is actually a jerk, hes actually more evil then most the villians hes up against. Usually i like cool charachters that have mixed morals such as Yagami light from Death note, or Mugen from samurai champloo. But this guy is a plain blood thirsty idiot ogre who says 2 words per episode!!! Its hard to get attached to people like that.
Samurai champloo does a better job in mixing "hip hop" with its style, then does Afro samurai i would recommend samurai champloo to anyone who likes that style of story telling.
I give the series a 5, i really want to give it a 2, but thats just me. In conclusion you should watch this show if you want to see some awesome animation, and stay away if you wish to keep your sanity.

Kannagi is quite original in my opinion, it starts out looking like a magical fantasy oriented anime, but immediately transitions into complete comedy/Romance. Kannagi isn’t extremely comedic or romantic so I would have to throw it into the slice of life category
Story
Lead character is a young boy named Jin who happens to have an acute sense of the spiritual. He one day sculpts an idol of a goddess out of sacred wood that a friend gives him and POOF, out pops a young girl from the sculptures. This girls name is kannagi who happens to believe her self to be a God. From their
...
on she joins Jin through out his daily life accompanying him to school, the mall and just about everywhere else he goes. For some reason she finds it her duty to rid the world impurities which happen to be evil mysterious bug like creatures that cause misfortune to whom ever they touch. Wait PAUSE, I know most readers are like wah??? But kannagi is a strange anime, it introduces this mystery but gives it very little attention. In fact ridding the world of evil is not first on the to do list for Kannagi, not second but THIRD on Kannagis list of chores. Her first and second goals are finding out more about her mysterious nature and becoming popular among the masses. Now how does a God not know anything about its self is a mystery in itself so don’t ask.
Chrachters
Great characters, Kannagi the lead Girl character is quite hilarious and enjoyable to watch. Even the side cast is enjoyable to watch, most situations in this story are very entertaining.
Animation Sound
Animation is excellent. Sound on the other hand I’m not sure about, this anime has very little sound or music through out its kind of silent at times making the show slow and groggy.
Pros
-Hillarious side cast
-Origional Story
-Entertaining plots and situations
Cons
-Very slow pace development, some shows get to a drooling level of boredom.
-Weird story to be honest but not horrible
Overall
A good watch especially if you enjoy comedy/romances. If you don’t enjoy mysterious magic in your anime don’t worry its very minimal in Kannagi. This anime does many things right, it doesn’t become to strange or to realistic making it balanced in some way for all audiences really.

Story
The main problem with Xamd is the story. Story starts out like your typical Shonen, boy receives special ability sets out on a journey to discover more about his ability known as Xamd. An ability which allows the user to change into a bug like creature. Story is interesting initially the main character Akiyuki, and his two friends have an interesting plot where each friend takes a different path as they mature and grow. But the story never matures into anything special from there. After a few episodes you realize the story is just missing something like intelligence or enjoyment. Still it’s a good watch
...
if you fancy a fantasy setting, airships and the occasional flashy battle. With that said fighting scenes are very rare but dialogue is abundant. Xamd eventually transforms into this bizarre drama that confuses the hell out of viewers in my opinion.
Characters
I liked the characters but a fatal flaw is that the show focuses far to much on characters no one gives a shit about, about half the episodes focus on side characters for a period of time which kills viewers interest.
Animation and Sound
Superb, makes up somewhat for the lack luster story.
Overall
Both Xamd lost memories and Eureka 7 were done by the same team. If you enjoyed one you may enjoy the other. Both Animes have this slow pacing and a level of drama which just kills the anime for me.

Soul eater is about a Soul Organization that teaches its students how to become Death Scythes(advanced weapons) and Technicians(weapon users) who train to protect good souls from the bad. Sounds familiar eh? Kind of like Bleach or Naruto, but this show is much different from your normal shonen and ill tell you why.
Story-
The show primarily centers around 6-7 kids who train in this school to protect the "Pure" souls from evil factions that look to reap these souls. The goal for the evil factions is to obtain enough Pure souls to transcend into the terrifying Demon king. The Demon King is the
...
strongest villain in the show, he who posses great power and the most pure souls becomes the Demon King. Villains usually have red souls which represents a dark heart while the good have white/bluish pure souls. You find out early in the show that the first ever Demon king is a powerful dude that was locked up centuries before, so some factions of bad guys actually look to reawaken the Demon King instead of striving to become one themselves. The primary villain is named Medusa, there are even characters with names like Stein… as in Franken Stein, you also have a vampire, a grim reaper, a were-wolf and witches. Hence Soul eater does something impressive: it uses European mythological creatures in a brand new role and it does so quite well so viewers will feel more familiar with some of these character. The setting is kind of emo and dark but complete humor otherwise, so I repeat don’t expect drama or anything in terms of story.
Cons-
First with the negatives, the one thing you must know about this show that pissed me off was that it doesn’t take it self seriously when it should. You will have random cracks and jokes in the middle of an intense battle!!! You never once fear the good guys life to be in danger, since this is a comedy first anime, it looks to deliver laughs before entertainment. The show is quite funny but sometimes it tries to be comical when it shouldn’t be. This is unfortunate since the battle animations and fighting styles are done real well.
To me Soul eater got boring and slow at times, the story isn’t very deep or interesting, most people will watch this for laughs or some action, but don’t expect anything deep.
Pros-
With the cons out of the way I found a lot of pros that must be mentioned
The Animation is superb, great fluid fighting animation, and all around great drawings.
The fighting styles are very cool, you will usually have two partners one will become a weapon for example into a sword, and the other will then use that sword to fight with, hence you have a death scythe and technician.
The villains are very colorful and original I thought, and since we know of them from European mythology its easy to pick up.
To sum things up, the best thing about Soul Eater is its comedy, the worst thing is also the comedy if your looking for a show with a balance of comedy and drama like Naruto or bleach, look elsewhere. I was hoping this show would be more like One Piece which is another Comedy first anime, but what One Piece does better then Soul eater is it gets serious when it needs to be (during decisive battles). You don’t need potty humor in the middle of an intense combat. Overall Soul Eater is definitely a good pickup if you just want to have fun with an anime but its not something you will get sucked into by the story, with that said I did enjoy this show.

You all must understand that I cant stand most Romance animes actually I cant stand any (except for this one), for some reason School rumble defied all logic and immediately became… yes it immediately became my favorite anime of all time. This anime is unique compared to others, it doesn’t fallow a set linear storyline rather its very random, you could say its formula used for success was to endlessly surprise fans like any good comedy should. This is by far the funniest anime I’ve ever seen but to be fair I will point out the good and the bad in this anime.
Story
If you are
...
looking for a very sweet, slow and dramatic anime look else where because School rumble takes viewers for one hilarious ride, but the amazing thing is that even though it is primarily a comedy anime, its has heart wrenching moments of drama and romance. Not the kind you will see on soap operas, but the sweet yet sour kind. It has a tragic romance twist to it which keeps fans tuned in for more School Rumble. School Rumble is a Comedy first romance second anime about a 17 year old clumsy girl named Tenma who looks to win the heart of her high school crush Karusuma who happens to be the most boring character ever created. Harima Kenji(some call him the real main character) is the high school delinquent, he actually happens to be my favorite anime character of all time, a very rough and dumb guy yet with a big heart. Harima is in love to with…. Tenma, you can see where this show is going as it starts with a long triangle immediately. Now both Harima and Tenma are trying to win the hearts of their respective crushes but fail miserably every time in the most hilarious way. What really drew me into this show were its side characters fine development, Sawachika Eri friend of Tenma and Tsukamoto Yakumo the sister of Tenma somehow begin to have feelings for the male lead Harima Kenji. That’s when the story gets interesting. Multiple love stories unfolding in the funniest way, with the most random twists and jaw dropping moments.
Characters
What can I say about the characters in this show, they are by far in my opinion the most well thought out and detailed characters I’ve ever seen. Not just the main characters, but even the side characters have deeper story lines and real life like problems in conveying their feelings to the one they like. Everyone in real life has experienced the inability to confess to the one they love, and school rumble takes that into the anime world and this show takes a slice of life and mixes in comedy to keep itself appealing. My favorite characters Harima, Eri and Yakumo who are all very unique and personalities I haven’t seen in other animes. Other side characters like Hanai, Mikoto and Akira are even appealing and interesting. You will certainly fall in love with at least several of these characters before this anime ends.
The Bad
The bad part would be the lack of speed in developing the story line but that was inevitable in a comedy oriented anime, where entertainment comes before storyline. So some viewers will feel like the story isn’t going anywhere I would argue that this is a good thing though, the show builds up the story through all the funny situations to create a feeling amongst fans for a certain outcome calling for a climactic conclusion.
Overall
School Rumble took me on one of the most enjoyable rides I’ve experienced. The re-watch value is very high since there is mountains of comedy in each episode and it just doesn’t get old. The situations are funny and even intensely dramatic at times.

Gurren Lagann in a few words can be described as the single most large scale revolution ever put on paper.
The Story
is about a child named Simon and his hero Kamina who are both forced to live in a underground City gaurded by giant robots called Gunmen. Kamina dreams of flying to the skies while Simon like most kids is terrified of trying anything so daring. For some reasons on this planet human beings are not allowed to reach the surface, and if they do so, they are usually crushed by these monstrous Gunmen robots. So through the use of fear and
...
power, the Gunmen imprison humans underground, so naturally rebellious humans ban together to revolt against these tyrannical monsters. Kamina and Simon eventually meet one of these rebels known as Yoko and begin a long revolution against the king of Gunmen, the stars, and even God himself.
Characters
This is where I had a huge problem, all the characters lacked development in my opinion. Not one of them was interesting, and the one entertaining personality Kamina was killed off early, so the rest of the show you have to put up with a wining baby named Simon as the main protagonist. One good thing about this show is the time skip where Simon and his friends grow up, the bad thing is no one becomes interesting over the time skip. Another annoying aspect of the show is when you know the good guys have the clear cut advantage over the other side, what is the advantage the good guys have? It happens to be this spiral like necklace which can unlock Gunmen’s true powers. So when ever Simon finds himself in a pinch, he simply relies on his magical charm to give his gunmen infinite power to kick the enemies ass. What ever you stick this key into becomes an unstoppable fighting machine. This made the show very uninteresting since the main characters toy seemed to possess some sort of immense power that the enemies could never dream to overcome(he defeats GOD with this toy!!!) Certainly who ever possessed this spiral like necklace had a major advantage in battle thus the element of surprise is not their in this anime.
Overall
Now the story and characters may interest some people, but for some reason I was never swept away by this anime, it just felt like a huge roller-coaster that just never hit full speed.
Every episode had a reoccurring theme, “Never Give up” or “Nothing is Impossible!!!” or some crap like that. It felt like every episodes message was to tell viewers you can do anything as long as you BELIEVE. Something I haven’t heard since pre-school I might add. Another issue I had with this show was killing off the backbone of the show, Kamina. He had a colorful personality and was not the least bit dull unlike the other cast members. This anime certainly aspires to do big things, but fails at many small things. The show wasn’t incredibly funny, dramatic or original but it did try so I would say this anime is certainly not a wannabe anime it just isn’t something I found interesting. It felt like a show that belongs on Saturday morning cartoons on FOX. But if your into wacky mecha fighting, large scale DBZish warfare, very good animation then you should try this anime.

As you can see I had to give this anime 7's all across mainly because the last 70 episodes were dreadful and drag this anime down a whole lot. With that said the first 130 episodes or so were fantastic I Must say. Naruto was one of the first animes I cracked open, and at first it appeared fresh and bold taking Anime to a new level, and it did for the most part. Although Naruto has MANY good points, it also fails miserable at many things.
Story
The Story has been kind of done before, a loser kid wanting to become a winner. But this loser
...
kid has been given some kind of special power which the leader of his ninja clan implanted in him at birth known as the Nine Tail fox. Naruto now looks to become the leader of his Ninja clan, so Naruto Uzamaki with this orange jump suit and heart wrenching battle cry "IM GONA BE HOKAGE" sets out to become the best ninja in his clan.
Characters
This is where I really enjoyed the show and didn’t enjoy the show. Of course Naruto the main protagonist is interesting for a while but the anime focuses far to much on him and puts everyone else in a very long waiting line. No other characters besides Naruto and to some extent Sauske (Narutos rival and best friend)get a fair level of development. Now the villains are certainly exciting in Naruto and for most fans like myself, the villains actually carry the show more then Naruto. Its always interesting when the villains are conspiring mysterious schemes.
Overall
Although Naruto is entertaining at first, it quickly begins to fade as a show that’s lived for too long. After a while the story line becomes weak and very boring as fans ache to see more of the villain instead are fed filler episodes. The characters may get annoying but to Naruto’s credit, the fighting style and drama is very real and new. If your looking for that anime that has a good level of action, drama, and comedy you should try Naruto.

One of the most interesting action packed shonens I have ever seen, this show deserves far more credit then its received, truly a show that’s gone under the radar for some time. Incredible characters, incredible storyline and drama, with very intense moments. With that said what makes this anime so great? Its style is one thing, the show doesnt leave you a moment to breath, it immediately jumps into the conflict and pushes its viewers into the middle of a giant epic battle between two warring ninja clans.
On one side is Genouske, the head Ninja of one clan and Oboro the head of the other
...
clan. The two love each other but now have both their clans in a battle with each other and no way of avoiding the inevitable clash.
Basilisk is indeed my favorite Ninja anime of all time, for Naruto fans I will use both in comparison since many people know of Naruto. First of all basilisk gives the true real life sense of being a ninja. basilisk has fantasy like battles if you enjoy those, but it primarily focuses on Ninja tactics of assassination and stealth. Naruto is more about a child looking to become the greatest(hmm pokemon? ).
Every battle is eye popping violence with incredible animation and a very unique style of fighting. Even though its a Shonen, the show boasts a very strong romance story line which makes each episode that much better.
If nothing else if you enjoy crazy fighting mixed with a very epic tale of two lovers, then you will really enjoy this show, basilisk is one of my favorite Animes and I recommend you get your hands on it now if you wish to be blown away
