Male Main character adds powerful allies to his team and goes on adventures taking on vicious villains. Utawarerumono is more war oriented with far more drama and romance, but both are similar in fighting style and fantasy setting. Both are also based on a video game.

If you enjoy drama and major hero moral conflictions then you will enjoy these shows. Both primarily focus on story and drama above action.

Gritty, dark, seinin, awesome lead male charachters both are outstanding in terms of action story line and romance.

Comedy comes first for those who enjoy their laughs before anything else like me. Similar style of presentation with a lot of similarities. Soul eater looks like a simple comedy at first but like one piece drama and action can get pretty intense at times.

If you liked School Rumble add

...then you might like Toradora! add

Misunderstood Delinquent like lead male characters, awesome comedy and great female characters with tons of misunderstandings and comedy. Toradora is a bit more complete then school rumble, but school rumbles cast is more enjoyable then Toradoras in my opinion. Both are great Comedy/romances.

...then you might like Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch add

Twisted lead protagonist in both series, where both don’t really care about others lives and look to use others to gain something. Both lead characters have exclusively a strange power in Code Geass it’s the power of ultimate Command for Lelouch and Death Note Kira has his this mystical book. Both series have friends that oppose each other and look to kill each other, and have a sort of tragic romance to them as well. Both are dark animes to some extent especially Death note.

Both shows are about friends becoming foes, and have a lead character that becomes evil over time. Both lead characters abuse friends and foes alike to get to the top. Both also have a tragic romance aspect to them.
