Is that Gangsta in your profile pic? I've wanted to try it out, is it good? I think there's an anime for it coming sometime soon, right? :)
thank you ♪ XD
Though the lack of a new Jinrui episode per week still weighs on me, I agree that this anime season is shaping up quite well compared to the previous one. As for what is the best, well, I say it would probably be either Psycho-pass or Shin Sekai Yori - or Yuri or Yaoi - depends on how you've seen the later's development on its latest episode.
I get that there was a fuzz regarding SSY's episode 5 because that was full of QUALITY moments but other than that, nothing else fall short. The story is, as I see it, still coherent as it is unique and radical. The mystery is still in tact even though they let out a bit of answer on episode 4. Lastly, the main asset of the show which is the atmosphere remains good, particularly the soundtrack from where I get chills out of nowhere just by hearing it.
Regarding Psycho-pass, the setting is good. You have a seemingly utopian society where a system(most likely a super computer) decides how man should function on it. It welcomes some general themes such as determinism and anti-existentialism. I recall there was an episode where Akane said that she wanted to choose a path of her own so she declined the other vocations dictated by the Sybil system and went to apply as a Prosecutor but in the end, being a prosecutor was still an option given by the system. It's like she was given different routes but those routes will still lead to the same destination. That's why my favorite character in the show was the old man..err Masaoka, if I remember it right. Not because of his reference to Rousseau or the way he is moe but the way that his action contrast with the said 'perfect' Sybil system yet these actions still work. An example is when he was with Akane and they were wearing costumes while chasing a criminal. He didn't rely on the system to dictate that the guy was a criminal, rather he relied on his gut feel. He knew it because there is an 'it' feel to it - a very human factor.
Anyway, it's hard to explain so just look at it as an individual that doesn't rely on the system. On the other hand, you had Akane's friends talking about there job and praising Akane because she had better marks in her exams, which Akane humbles and complain about how she is depress the way things are but her friends just shrugs it off since her mental status dictated by the system is said to be healthy. In a way, you see the over reliance in the system and the crack in human relation as technology takes over. I mean if they were her real friends, I think they would ask questions like 'why are you sad', 'what can we do to help', etc. but they don't.
Anyway, I think I rambled some loose thoughts, sorry. I still think though that while Psycho-pass is interesting, the universe is a bit unexplored and requires more time to express itself; the sequencing is also episodic like a cookie-cutter cop drama. But seeing that this is more of a character-driven series, I stop paying attention to the lack of detail regarding the setting and focus on the character instead.
Tonari no Kaibutsu, Chuunibyou and Magi are also good too. As for the others, well, I'm a bit tolerant and tend to watch almost everything every season so I don't really drop much. What do you think of the series this season?
i've just been busy this last week,
and my perspective for this season is "a lot of sweet shoujo anime" :3
i loved it, even though im a man :D
for a while i just watch Bakuman. 3, Hayate no Gotoku Can't Take My Eyes Off You, Hidamari Sketch x Honeycomb, Sukitte Ii na yo & Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun. other will follow
and my favorite is Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun and maybe Chuunibyou (thouugh i haven't watch Chuunibyou :p)
^_^
The Last Guardian looks like a bundle of promise and will probably turn out well like Team Ico's past works. Sadly, I won't be able to play it because I don't have PS3. And hoping it would be release in PC only amounts to self-betrayal as it is painfully obvious enough that Japanese games, in general, are console-focused. I can only see myself struck with awe as well as envy while reading reviews and feedback online raving on "how good the game is" when it's already out. Probably, not that dramatic but you get my point.
I'm glad that you recognized ICO. I rarely encounter people online who are familiar with its title, much less people who have played it. Only Shadow of Colossus comes to their mind when the name ICO is brought up, mainly due to the name of the developer.
i want to live in that world haha.. XD
i'm watching right now!! XD
i love episode 9 of Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita (become a Queen lol x3)
SAO yes i'll absolutely watch it :D
