Soil is a manga written by Atsushi Kaneko. This is what you would call a weird story, and it's true. This manga is different from any other you have read.
Soil is a crime and mystery work, not a classic one... It has some elements that make it a unique piece of art.
STORY - 7
This manga has a good story, a clearly defined plot with some main parts and a little background.
The main objective in the story is to find out what happened to a missing family and a police officer and where they are. The problem begins when the autor introduce weird
...
elements such as those called "foreign beings" or "foreign organisms". That wasn't well carried on, since all became to be explained by these and other paranormal phenomena instead of the classic detective method I expected.
I must also take into account that some things end inconclusive and in a confusing way, however, the main plot was well made.
ART - 9
This manga is completely filled with a fantastic artwork. Atsushi Kaneko's style is unique and really beautiful.
The drawing was the main reason I chose to read this work. It was like this: I saw some scenes and then I have a small urge to read this story.
The design of all the characters, not only the main, but also the secondary and stuffing is beautiful, all have their nature.
The scenery and the weird elements have also a wonderful draw art.
CHARACTER - 6
This story has some interesting characters and a few of them are well built. Each character has its own nature and personality that make them react in each own way to the strange stuff that invades their daily and common life.
The development in the characters didn't deepen at all. I expected some of them to end in a different way, but, at the end, there weren't any changes in ther mind or behaviour of the favourite characters.
ENJOYMENT - 7
I really liked this story. It wasn't excessive long nor too short. It had its drama, some mystery and some hilarious moments.
I enjoyed the main story being touched by some delusional elements, and in some way, it was also okay that some of the mysteries ended unsolved.
However, the end of the story didn't please me entirely.
OVERALL - 7
In conclusion, this manga has an awesome artwork and story appropriately long. It's not a marvelous work but it has many good points.

This work was like an amzing adaptation from a classic western movie to Japanese manga. Kakizaki Masasumi made such a wonderful piece of art.
The story was great, easy to understand without warped plots or difficult ideas that blow your mind. It was simple, a bad guy experienced in battle and murder has an insatiable blood thirst. He wants desperately to kill his father and avenge his mother, without his brother finding out that he's a gangster. What makes it a fantastic tale is the thrilling suspense that fills it. You never know what will happen. You expect something to happen or someone to die
...
and then, in a realistc way another incredible thing occurs. During this outstanding manga you'll accompany the Burns brothers in their path towards revenge, a dream and their happiness. Besides the author uses some pages to tell us some historical facts as a context. These are well located in some chapters and they contain interesting info.
In regards to the draw art I only have one thing to say: Simply wonderful. Amazing battle scenes well done. It's easy to understand what happens in each panel. The scenery is awesome, delightful saloons, wonderful desert landscape, well painted animals, especially horses. All the images were drawn with plenty of details and the author used the shades in a spectacular way. The characters have an overwhelming figure. None of them looked like being drawn fast, otherwise with too much care, including those in the backgrounds.
There are only three main characters the Burns siblings, Brad and Luke and the bastard gang leader Edward King, their father. There are also some supporting characters well made. Regarding to the main characters they are well built, each of them has his background and development throughout the manga. However, the supporting characters have a little explanation, but it is must said that it's enough, otherwise I believe it will be too much. Although these secondary characters have no background they were infused with a realistic behaviour and neat goals or intentions.
I really enjoyed this story. It had one of the best draw arts I've ever seen, cool characters that fitted with this historical western work. The time I spent with this manga pretty worth it. I'm hoping to read another fantastic work of this author.

A group of young people that play the same online game must face it in the real life. Rabbit doubt, the game, consists on a group of rabbits that have a killer among them, the wolf. Rabbits win if they catch the murderer, if not they get killed and lose.
That's the plot of this manga. The story it's a bit por because it only has this idea. It's also told a little piece of background for the main characters but not enough to make a good development of them. Although I should have expected it, since it's a short work.
The drawing work was the
...
best charateristic of this manga. Nice scenes, good action and scary places. Sure it was a good job.
I really enjoyed this story. Although it wasn't a masterpiece and it didn't last long, it was such a good story to spend my time on.
I hope the sequel keeps the good points of this work and then improve some things, for instance some scenes were confusing as they didn't have enough panels.

Kono sekai no katasumi ni is one of that tough stories that touch you deep. With this manga Kouno Fumiyo show us the life of a young woman from Hiroshima during World War II.
The story begins with the announcement of the convenience wedding of the main character, Suzu, with a man from Kure, a military port near Hiroshima. She must leave her hometown and go with her husband to live
...
with her family in law. All the story consists in the daily life of Suzu in her new home, during these years of war, fear, misery and lack of all kind of goods.
The draw art is very simple but beautiful. This work is full of wonderful scenes and pretty drawings.
The development of the characters is really good, they all grow and react in different ways. There are many problems they must face including poverty, American air raids and some accidents. It’s very nice how some characters realize many things about each other. My favorite is when Suzu discovered the embarrassing secret of her husband’s past.
I really enjoyed this sad story. There were many interesting things and the stressful feeling it gives is amazing. It was also nice the anxiety you have, because you worry about the characters knowing what could happen in the war, but you don’t know until the end, what will happen.

Story - 8
First of all I must say that the plot of this manga was made by the respected historian Kan Furuyama.
The story of this manga takes part in two different ages. First in the Meiji era, year 31 (1899) with old men talking about politics and telling the main story. The main story takes part in the first years of the Keian era (1649-1651).
This is a historical manga and it's about shinobis, war and an attempt to a coup d'état. I really found this plot pretty interesting. Japan's history and culture are very rich and they may show
...
us great works like this.
Art - 9
The draw art of this manga was made by Jiro Taniguchi. This author makes beautiful works, although he tends to draw similar faces. I didn't expect him to do such a nice work. He cared a lot about little details, and this is something to take into account because of the number of different swords, sceneries and fights that appear in the manga. Sure, it is an incredible work.
Character - 6
Well, this is a short manga so the characters are not developed as I like, but they are nice. I found some of them really interesting, for instance the main character Jubei and also the politician Kaishu Katsu.
Enjoyment - 9
This manga was pretty entertaining, I enjoyed so much spending my time reading this volume. As always Taniguchi's works are not disappointing.

STORY ~ 7
Atsushi Kaneko's "Wet Moon" is a bizarre story that focus on the policeman of Tatsumi, Keiji Sada. It begins with a macabre murder. While investigating that case the principal suspect, Kiwako Komiyama managed to flee and agent Sada gets his head injured. As a result, he gets in coma, and then he suffers headaches, delusions and flashbacks. These pains and illusions come to his mind during the whole manga, making it a little bit confusing. After his failure, Sada gets obsessed over capturing Kiwako, first related with his job, then because of a weird love.
I believe this crime story is
...
well done, but sometimes it's also baffling. It has some interesting scenes and plots. I really liked it because of the turns that are done with the plot.
ART ~ 9
The drawing is really nice. There are several fantastic sketches and beautiful sceneries. A constant in this work is the moon, attracting your sight for a few moments.
CHARACTERS ~ 7
It has no much characters. Mainly Sada, Komiyama, other policemen, only three are important, Mori, Kishi and Kinjou, and a weird info dealer called Tamayama. They all have realistic appearances, except for Tamayama and his strange complexión that fits very well in the plot.
If we refer to Sada he is a dull policeman, with principles, a little bit workaholic. He is also a crazy man. He is not a charismatic hero or a heartwarming protagonist. The facts that he is mad and also his obsessions with Komiyama, that are excessive, result in no affection for him but pity.
ENJOYMENT ~ 8
I did really enjoyed this manga. I devoured it, I mean... it didn't last long. It was fantastic but in the end it gave me the impression that it was too short.
