These two mangas are based in some identical ideas: -A lovely and peaceful village where tragedies, weird things and delusions befall messing with the inhabitants and the city itself. - Main characters a woman and a man that struggle to uncover the truth - The strange stuff. - Unsolved mysteries - Wonderful pictures, scenes, etc. Both have a fantastic draw art. - The cheerless atmosphere surrounding both cases - Savageness appears but doesn't become part of the story

Made by the same autor these two are very good works, especially Green Blood. Both have a nice story, even though Hideout is a short novel covered in a volume. They are not similar in the story they tell, but one thing they have in common is their beautiiful draw art, made with too much care.

Both mangas have three clearly common basics. I) Battles. As a main resource all characters in both series return to fighting each time they must overcome an enemy or face obstacles. Also, Ryuko and Jonathan have a powerful fighting spirit and both are well skilled. II) Vengeance. The easiest reason to make a character fight. Both heroes have a desire to avenge their father. Jonathan wants to annihilate Dio Brando, the vampire who killed his father and plan to rule the world. Meanwhile Ryuko wants to discover her father murderer and take revenge. III) Peculiarity. Both works have really weird moments and things. First one strange thing occurs and then an even more bizarre thing happens. JoJo is a well finished work, whereas Kill la Kill manga lacks its ending. However, you could watch the anime to know how it ends.

They are a compilation of realistic stories in which people have tough times. Both mangas include sad stories, hard scenes and some serious critiques of modern Japanese society. While Asano Inio complains about the hard times that young people must face during a economic crisis, or just because of bad luck, Shun Umezawa uses his manga to criticize more aspects of the Japanese, for instance the racism towards foreigners or their worries of their appearance.
