Chill and hilarious trash isekai.

Hilarious isekai with OP MC that's pretending to be a background character in public while playing dark hero during the nights. I didn't have any expectations since it belongs to the category of trash isekai, but it is great at what it's doing - making fun of itself/isekais, great jokes, execution,.. Even the story gets interesting in later episodes.

However, if you want proper/serious show with amazing story and character development,.. then don't watch this. You need to have a correct expectation of what are you watching

Synopsis
For as long as he can remember, Minoru Kagenou has been fixated on becoming as strong as possible, which has led him to undertake all kinds of rigorous training. This wish, however, does not stem from a desire to be recognized by others; rather, Minoru does everything he can to blend in with the crowd. So, while pretending to be a completely average student during the day, he arms himself with a crowbar and ruthlessly thrashes local biker gangs at night. Yet when Minoru finds himself in a truck accident, his ambitions seemingly come to a sudden end. In his final moments, he laments his powerlessness—no matter how much he trained, there was nothing he could do to overcome his human limitations.

But instead of dying, Minoru reawakens as Cid, the second child of the noble Kagenou family, in another world—one where magic is commonplace. With the power he so desired finally within his grasp, he dons the moniker "Shadow" and establishes Shadow Garden: a group whose sole purpose is to combat the enigmatic Cult of Diablos, an organization born from Cid's imagination. However, as Shadow Garden grows in both membership and influence, it becomes increasingly apparent that the Cult of Diablos is not as fictional as Cid had intended.

If you like rom-com, feel-good, musical anime and anime where MCs pursue their goals and work hard,.. Then this is the perfect match.

Just first episode has so much happening, while keeping up the humour and building towards a great music later. It doesn't keep it up all the way, however the enjoyment stays. There are better animes if you like sad stories, but for feel-happy work-hard this is one of the best. Would love to see more series like this.

The characters are quite simple and don't change much, but still, my favourite musical anime. The stupidity of Nodame with combination of perfectionism of Chiaky ... is hilarious and feels nice.

Finally, some good long-running series that keep the quality. You won't find here anything new and ground-breaking, but it's solid magic fantasy that will fix your shonen needs. Of course there are a lot of cliches and repeating themes, but why not?

Negative reviews are mostly because first episodes are pretty annoying, and it has a lot of similarities to other anime, but does that make it bad? No!

So if you like medieval magic fantasy, with some fights, jokes and guilds (magic knights), then this is for you.

I might have given it a different rating if it was not continuing anime, but there is ... nothing better so 10 for me.

This is a hidden gem. It's laying under layers of "unusual" approaches, but hides amazing deep world and unique story told in a light-hearted comedy with romance style.

Layers hiding the gem are:
-Art - 3D art is not great, but you can get used to it after a while
-Language - don't get scared of Chinese language, you will stop noticing it after a few hours/series
-7min episodes- I found a source that combined whole seasons in one video (40episodes), it would be pain otherwise

If you can get over this and the bit childish dialogues/approach, then you get a deep world with solid mechanics. The combination of magic, ... alchemy and family branches works very well together. Story is about MC that died after his city got destroyed, but his memories transport few year back to past (younger) himself. MC tries to use this knowledge to strengthen the city before it gets destroyed.


I love how all of it fits nicely together. Having memories from "future got bad" gives the chance to change it - He exploits his knowledge in magic/business/alchemy/relationships and basically becomes OP. But this brings new challenges like not having enough magic power, or not having a trust of future friend and not knowing how to build it, or meeting new people that he never met in the future,.. This is all presented in light tone with comedy and romance feels, what makes it enjoyable experience.

I was very sceptic after I started watching this, but now I am on 4th season and it became one of my most favourite running animes.
