Flip Flappers has to be one of my favourite anime series.

Story

The story was good, 7/10. Each episode showed the journey Cocona and Papika going through the world of Pure Illusion in order to grab all the crystal shards. The story could have been approached a tiny bit better but I enjoyed the fact that it was not too cliché. The story appealed to me a lot, especially towards the end.

Art

The art in my opinion was amazing. The art showing the ... transformation when Papika and Cocona shout out “Flip Flapping” has a shoujo vibe to it which I am still am trying to get used to. This is where I felt where it could have been cut down and had a bit more of a realistic vibe to it but yet again, this part is basically the cliché part where they transform and eventually beat the evil; nothing else. Thus, I suppose it does not need to be realistic and it is just my tastes that I need to change.

Sound

The voice actors/actresses were amazing. It felt that the voices matched their characters. I did not notice the background music being awful. It blended in well with the certain scenes. The OP and EDs were not perfect but they were not all too bad. At first, I did not really like the OP but now I can stand it at least. The ED at the start does not really have a kicking explosive start but the chorus is where I decided to make the ED one of my favourite EDs.

Character

I felt that all the characters combined were well balanced. However, I felt that some characters did not react to situations in a realistic way. This anime, however, was not portrayed in a realistic way, but fiction. There were some antagonists were just there to be there, however, other antagonists did have motives. I also felt the supporting cast was perfect. They were not too bland. I generally hated the antagonists because of their evil nature. However, the antagonists needed to exist in order for this anime to be what it is or else their flip flapping adventures will become all for naught. (no antagonists mean they did not need to go on flip flapping adventures and just enjoy school life, making it become a slice of life anime instead.

Enjoyment

I overall think this anime is very enjoyable. I might even re-watch it. I feel that others can also enjoy this anime as much as me. This is probably an anime to watch for people who just cannot decide what to watch. I recommend this to absolutely anyone. Cocona and Papika shall stay in my heart forever. These two characters are what makes the show enjoyable.

as of writing this review, i still have not watched the anime. i have read the manga first.

when i first picked up this manga, i thought it was going to have some sort of sailor-moon vibe ish, where magic girls are just going to fight off evil and it was going to be cliche, however it wasn't that at all, and that is why i really like this manga. there are so many plot twists in this manga it was ridiculous.

i do have to say, i did have a bit of a hard time trying to understand the story, and even to this day of ... writing this review, i question myself of what happened on some parts.

maybe this is just me but i found some characters looked so similar that i couldn't really distinguish them when they're in black and white. making the story harder to understand because i thought one character was this other characters. then i just realised my mistake and i would have to flick back a lot of pages just to try to understand the story again. i'm the type of person who barely looks at the pictures and just reads the text, i like to imagine things what's happening, not see. although i do look at the pictures from time to time if they are salient or if the story gets a bit confusing.

what makes it more enjoyable is how short it is. it's only 3 volumes yet it is so good. when i first heard this was only 3 volumes, i had a vibe it was going to be bad, but to this day, this is my favourite manga so far as of writing this review.

so overall, i rate this manga 9/10
there are so many feels in this manga...

i didnt really like the first season, mainly because i'm not used to the comedy/slice of life genre. i decided to try to get used to these genres by continuing on and watching the second season. the character art is amazing and i just wanted to see more of the characters in this anime.

again, there isn't really much story. i feel kind of delighted that chino's friends are shown more in this season. the op no poi is really good. the ed is also good. the other ops and eds were a meh, but still enjoyable to watch. i've yet to skip ops and eds. ...

i'd just like to point out that imo, megu's voice actress seems to be a bit off compared to what she looks like. but you know, this happens in real life too, where people may sound completely different to what they look like. i didnt really put this account into my rating but it kinda did bug me a bit.

overall, it's just cuteness overload and i really enjoyed it. i tried my best to just let everything happen and absorb the slice of life genre. some eps were funny, sad or just want to make you smile through the whole episode. i do think when i have more time, i may re-watch and re-live these moments. i'll miss chino-chan. i want to see more of chino :(.

I was hoping this would be a sequel to charlotte but it wasn't. althought it wasn't a sequel, i still did like some parts, but most of all, it seemed a bit unbalanced. i can see some people really liking this.

this could be one where you could show your friends who never watched charlotte to see this and see how they like this and then they'll watch charlotte.

i was hoping for a new OP and ED but they seem to have used the same ones. i had so much hype for this but... i think i had too much hype.

There were some parts where ... i just didn't want to accept. the mind reading thing seems inconsistent. if it was mind reading then a lot of stuff would be heard, people are thinking about any rubbish 24/7.

well, the anime is kinda sad. i overall didn't really enjoy it. there were some really good parts but overall i'm kind of dissapointed (maybe because it was not sequel)

omg. this is the best comedy anime i have ever watched! I'm so glad there's going to be a season 2. Well, there are a lot of pros for this anime but there are a few cons, such as it being too short, therefore the plot felt rushed and it ended up negating the fact that there is now no plot and just comedy which kinda ticked me off a bit.

the transition from eps 8 to 9 and 10 was a bit like..... too much transition, we needed more, it just like SUDDENLY HAPPENED. Well, for those who like comedy, this is definitely the go ... to anime.

The art is pretty amazing, nothing really much to complain here.

The OP i guess was okay and the ED was pretty bad. espeicially with how sesaon 1 ended, then all the sudden ED theme plays, it just didnt feel right of a transition. the ED in my opinion does not go well with the anime itself.

So overall, i enjoyed this anime, so many laughs and stuff. i would not recommend to those who want an actual story plot, this is an anime for those who want to have a bit of a giggle.

just to let you know, i watched this anime in english dub

this should only be watched if you want to have a bit of a laugh. my rating is low as i want to rate everything equally. i dont want to be too biased. there really isn't any stable plot, honestly, what are you expecting from this naruto shippuden spin off?

the art is not the same as normal naruto series but i like the simplicity of the art, making them really small and kinda cute.

i really like the music and stuff in the middle of an episode where there's a short break where it ... shows tenten, lee or neji doing one of their signature moves.

the characters are really funny, especially rock lee. rock lee is what makes this so funny.

overall, i enjoyed this anime, had lots of laughter.

but to not be too biased on liking comedy anime, ill like to balance out my rating to "how good the plot is" so when including that balance in, i rate this 6/10

just to let you know, i watched this in english dub.

this anime is one of the best animes i've ever watched. the artwork is amazing and the story's plot is great.

story was very clear from beginning to end.

off topic: the anime charlotte, end part was really rushed, and the last episode could've gone on for maybe like 5 or more. (my opinion). with "a lull in the sea", the episodes were spread out so every little detail about the plot was very clear and wasn't just rushed through. But with the little detail, i felt that it could've been shorter, just a tiny ... bit shorter so that's why it's not 10/10

art 10/10

the artwork is AMAZING. like seriously. just watch the anime and be amazed by the art, just trust me.

character: 9/10

nothing really wrong here. i'm probably a bit biased here not giving it a 10.

i honestly don't like some of the ships that have been sailed, sorry if i sound too biased here.

enjoyment: 8/10

what irritates me the most is the fact of how many laws of physics were just broken in the anime. well, although i knew this was going to happen, it still bugged me. I'm one of those people who just want every little detail to be perfect so i can overall rate an anime 10/10.

so far i have never ever rated an anime a 10 as the first eps of all the anime i've been watching so far are slightly irritating to watch.

Just to let you know, i did pause this anime a few times at embarrasing parts out of embarrassment. too shameful.

so overall i rate this anime an 8/10

just to let you know, i tried to watched the 1st ep of the second season in english dub, but since i was so used to the jap dub, the eng dub sounded so bad, i only watched like the first 3min of eng dub then switched to sub.

Baka to test season 2 was a great anime. but you may be thinking, why did i rate it a 7? not higher. well, the beginning was bad. first like 3 eps were so bad but the rest were okay. i really enjoyed the last 5 or so episodes.

story: 6/10

what do u expect from this ... honestly? it's a comedy anime. don't get me wrong here, i really do like comedy anime. i just dont want to ratings to be biased (i want to rate everything equally, so if the story is bad, then so be it) so this is why i rating the story low. there is plot here and there but it gets blocked out by the comedy.

art: 8/10

nothing really wrong here.... well the nosebleeds were a bit overused (i do know what the nosebleeds represent) but still. There's nothing else really to talk about artwise.

Sound: 10/10

Well, how can sound be bad? Honestly, unless the voice acting is bad (*cough* eng dubs *cough*) then it's not 10/10. i really liked the OP. I probably didn't like the english dubs due to the fact i watched it in subs first.

Character: 9/10

Some of the characters were too baka, it felt that in the fillers, they were just rushed in to do really silly things. but either than that, nothing else.

Enjoyment: 10/10

i had a blast watching this anime. I had a few laughs here and there and i really liked how it ended (many will disagree).

Overall: 7/10
