"Chief Detective Kenichi" is a detective Manga in which boy detective Kenichi clears up a lot of mysteries and tricks, and settles cases. Kenichi is the chief detective of Boy Detectives' Street Society, which has 26 branches nationwide. Always with him is Donguri, a myna bird. Donguri can reproduce the voice of a person it hears only once more precisely than a tape recorder. It can also go to high or narrow places, and wins wild birds over to its side. It is a reliable "right-hand bird" for Kenichi. Kenichi and Donguri first face a radioactive fish case at Mount Oharai, and next search for the cursed secret treasure of Gandhara in the hinterlands of India. In the year 19XX, a new celestial body has been discovered in the same orbit as Earth. Dubbed "Planet Deimon" after its discoverer, Doctor Deimon, the planet's orbit soon slows, coming into close proximity with Earth. After a severe storm, the planet becomes Earth's second satellite. Doctor Deimon's son, Rock, organizes an expedition to explore the new planet and discovers that there are two races of sentient beings living on Deimon. Saburou Oonishi, an ordinary boy known as Sabutan, is a member of the Anpaka Gang made up of naughty boys in the neighborhood. Sabutan is nearly forced to become the leader of the Anpaka Gang, but refuses. As punishment, he is made to walk through a dark underpass, still under construction, alone. The underpass is a place where mysterious phenomena are said to happen from time to time. Sabutan is absorbed into the wall where some tiles have come off, and strays into a four-dimensional world. There he finds a mysterious spacious room and a four-dimensional creature that looks something like a doll. Having been given the power to stop time by the four-dimensional creature, Sabutan comes back to this world. Now, by simply shouting "Time, be still!" everything freezes except Sabutan himself. First published in 1934, Tank Tankuro was one of the most famous manga characters during the time, lining up next to Norakuro. He is said to be one of the first roboto ever to appear in Japanese manga and may be the first superhero in manga. He fights villain, Kuro Kabuto, who attacks Japan, and this Kuro Kabuto is famous among Japanese SF fans that it has resemblance to Darth Vader of Star Wars. Tank Tankuro influenced greatly, many manga artists, such as Shigeru Sugiura, Osamu Tezuka, Fujiko Fujio, etc., and is the foundation stone from which many masterpieces of manga art would spring from. Norakuro (のらくろ) is a Japanese manga series created by Suihou Tagawa. The titular protagonist, Norakuro, or Norakuro-kun, is a black and white dog.
