Story (7): It's the same plot of almost every zombie story. It's the exact same premise of Highschool of the Dead, the inspiration is clear. It has nothing innovator, but it's still quite enjoyable to zombie apocalypse fans.

Art (9): The art is excellent, character design consistent and good scenarios.
This work has a lot of panties showing off, and the design of these panties is outstandingly good and the erotic poses are very well drawn.

Character (8): The only character with a distinctive personality is the main heroine that is an exhibitionist, the others have classic personalities, but they were very well chosen, you'll probably like the ... most of them.

Enjoymente (9): The enjoyment about this work is something rather personal, if you are searching for a rich story and seriousness like on "I am a Hero" you'll not find it on this work, but if you like "Highschool of the Dead" with the shonen like horror and ecchi, you'll find basically the same thing here, and the mangaka is alive and full of health, it'll probably not end like Highschool of the Dead, probably...

Overall (9): If you like shonen with horror aspects and ecchi you'll probably like it. I really don't recommend this work to people who are looking works similar to "I am a Hero", but if you are looking for works similar to "Highschool of the Dead" or "Mahou Shoujo of the End" you'll probably like it.

The story, plotwise, sounds like something I wrote when I was 11. It's just so baffling bad and is nonsensical. The plot is so, I can't even explain it, it's non-existent. The only reason they try to push the story "forward" is to get to the next ecchi scene. The obstacles the MC must overcome is the most underhyped and easily solved roadblocks in manga history. An obstacle that would normally take 3 chapters to overcome in any well flushed out manga is easily overcome in a single panel, it's nonsensical to say the least. If you are looking for ecchi and some nice artwork ... you'll find some enjoyment, if you're looking for anything else you might as well leave.
There are quite a few plotholes and characters that the mangaka just seemed to have forgotten about which really makes you confused as to why they were even mentioned in the first place.
For example in Chapter 26 (Not spoiling anything just some nonsensical things)
they suddenly mention a guy who hasn't appeared for the last 20 chapters saying that he can't be trusted, all of a sudden they are mentioning names and events that they didn't show, but simply happen like the audience is supposed to know what they are talking about. They suddenly say that xxxxx is actually a very important person for blah blah blah, and all you can think to yourself is, "wait a minute, who the fuck is xxxxx? I have absolutely no idea who this character is and you're just bringing it up out of nowhere?"
With most bad mangas there are frequently pages you have to stop and re-read many times just to figure out what they're talking about or how some progression happened, this is one of those mangas. As I don't speak Japanese it might not actually be the mangaka's fault, rather the translator and proofreaders, but it doesn't matter either way because no matter who the fault is on, it's still confusing as hell.

This is an odd one. Some parts of it are actually very well done, like the bodyhorror and the tension in the beginning, the expressive art styl or the constant evolution of the danger, but so much else just didn´t work at all.

This manga tries to mix survival horror, with heavy ecchi elements, a highschool drama, light hearted comedy and a battle shounen protagonist in one story and fails so spectecularly with it that i just can´t stop reading.
We have emotional and dramatic scenes, that are built up for multiple chapters intercut with stupid sex jokes, that kill all tension and it´s leaving a ... taste of utter confusion behind every time.
Other times the cast is acting so irrational and straight out stupid that i actually can not stop me from laughing and i don´t talk about the discussions between characters in the middle of a zombie attack(and trust me these are so common here). I mean so stupid, that you wouldn´t belive it if i wrote it down.

The character are all over the place. Some are dense as a brick wall, some are straight out evil, others change their entire personality in just 2 pages without a reason, but if the character is a cute girl they will probably try getting it on with the MC. So of course nearly all female characters talk or think about the MC every time they are able to.
The odd thing is that you can actually see decent or even good written characters later in the manga, with nice characterisation and motivation, but even here they start to loose 50 IQ points the moment the MC shows up or something bad has to happen and that is the most frustrating part for me.

The story starts off as a more ore less classic zombie story and evolves over time into somthing vaguely resembling Parasyte or Sweet Home, just without the good writing to back it up. Sadly unnecessary highschool drama dominates even life or death situations for the most part.
To be fair, there are nice stories sprinkled in, but they are few and far between.


The manga is full of clichés, is unfocused, the characters are inconsistant, the story is somewhere between predictable and stupid and the dialog isn´t something to write home about either. I would never say that this is a good manga, but i realy do enjoy it for the very few competent parts that come to the surface from time to time and especially for the incompetent wrinting.
If you can enjoy something like this, you will probably have a blast with it, but if you expect a decent horror manga or something you can unironicly appreciate, don´t bother with this one.

This is possibly the best zombie manga ive read, considering i usually hate zombie series. It does start a bit like a generic zombie manga but it becomes its own thing slowly. My best comparison would be this is like a mix of Highschool of the Dead and Summertime Render but with a more interesting plot and less fanservice (than HOTD)

Quick story summary ( Around first 50 chapters ): A zombie outbreak starts in Sendai from an unknown cause and the government seals off the area, leaving the main cast and many people inside to survive. As they fight they slowly find out more info ... about the zombies, and turns out they arent exactly zombies, but humans with too much evolution data that it has deformed them. After this discovery everything goes down to hell. The 'Zombies' start evolving even more and from now cast has to figure out where they came from and how to stop them.

Unfortunately this barely has a fanbase and the official english version was cancelled due to poor sales with only a fan translation thats on Chapter 122/267 as of this review, so its a bit difficult for western audience to get the full experience of this manga.

If you know Japanese or even dont mind manually translating the pages I really suggest giving this manga a chance. It is definitely worthy of getting a good Anime adaptation but its gonna need a bigger fanbase for that. From the other reviews it looks like people just dont give this series a chance and conclude their opinion from the first few arcs which is fair. The only reason i rated this a 9 instead of 10 is because it has a pretty mid start.

Overall,

Story: 9 - Very good for a zombie series. Has its starting issues and odd writing but very enjoyable
Art: 10 - The art is just really good. It keeps improving as the author continued this and its pleasant to look at. Has a bit too much ecchi for me but its less than many other ecchi series so not big issue
Character: 9 - Rare case of me actually caring about a fictional character. This manga does have overpowered unrealistic characters but the actual characters personalities stay realistic for a world end scenario. Lots of emotions, good character development and personalities. Only complaint is that a horrible character was kept alive for no reason other than to cause trouble.
Enjoyment: 10 - Very surprising to myself for enjoying a "zombie" series this much. I was so invested in it i read all 267 chapters in a single day
Overall: 9 - Definitely a must read for anyone into zombie / gory series. It has its flaws and slow start but give it a chance. Get this seri the fanbase it deserves because its way too underrated right now. I really hope we get a good quality adaptation of this someday.

People say this manga is the same as Highschool of the Dead. I don't understand why would they say something so insulting to Highschool of the Dead

Never have i ever thought I'd give a series a score this low. I always try to appreciate people's work but this feels like the mangakas didn't even try to make a good story.

If you want some good zombie manga, go read "Fort of Apocalypse" or "I am a Hero" Its 100000x times better

Its no something special. The characters are at school, some mysterious virus spreads and now they must survive. But I assure you, the ... authors care so much more about the fanservice than the story, that they don't even mind using incesm. There are literally chapters about the MC bathing with his sister, completely nude.

I guess the only good thing about this manga. Such wasted artistic talent.

Oh boy. Where do i even start? The characters are irrational af. The main character is literally a Karen. At least in HotD, the characters are actually smart and knows what they're doing. This just proves how bad the writing is.
An example would be(mild spoilers), the heroine got her skirt stolen on the 2nd chapter and she legit refuses to wear anything to cover her bare ass for the WHOLE series, just because the clothings were "unstylish". When the MC's close character was about to die, they thought "What better way to die than escaping the safest place on Japan, risking the lives of thousands, abandoning all the painkillers the medical team was offering, and dying in their cold house with endless pain & suffering? Am I right?"

Even the fanservices aren't enjoyable. Most of the time they just try to seduce some elementary school children with their ass or give the characters some incest relationship. Just go read some doujin its much better

Don't waste your time on this.

IF YOU HATE WORMS DON'T READ THIS.
It's not HOTD but it's pretty solid. You still have typical idealistic MC, a betrayal type person, super OP dude, convenient character connection, or how smooth things went, you also have the usual 'a god-like' character that can moves wherever they want or know what's happening in the background. They also played with politics and science, which isn't bad. Some people thinks it's bad some will think it's good.

But I feel like some part is more realistic than HOTD. How the government respond to an unknown epidemic or how untrained character react to death early on or how romance ... slowly developed over time.

Infection is a manga that seems to be promising at the beginning, with all the survival, horror elements there, but then, after a certain point, it drops down drastically, changing from horror to something that has no pressure at all. It's quite a let down as it seemed quite promising with the idea of infection but then it seemed like they don't have any more ideas to write about.
Something that is worth highlining is that it could be good for people who like echi stuff, but only that, because they ruined the horror element of the story. There could be some part that might be ... a BIT of horror but only that.
The main character development its a typical one of noobie survivor who has no idea of surviving and then suddenly became an ace that becomes sonic and start rescuing others.

When I first found this, I really liked it. The first chapter was decent storywise but the art was top notch for the horror design and the lewd parts were just and eh.

First like 3 chapters are quite good however the moment the sister was lewded, I wanted to drop.

The sister in the story is 12 and has a bunch of panty shots.

It's a discount Highschool of the Dead with far more nonsense.

In chapter 8, they help an infected person escape because friendship.

Don't pick it up, it's really dumb, and morally I can not agree with it.
