Yeah, there hasn't been a slice of life I've finished without it leaving a hole in my heart.

This one hurts me. Right from the beginning, I was so intrigued by the kind of story a grandma could create from being born again at the same time as her demise. There's no period of adjusting, no weird knowledge, or things the grandma fears. Just the calm atmosphere, the day-to-day life of this knowledgeable child as she goes on to have friends, to hang out with her grandson, and eventually find out what she's supposed to do.

The stories of the people surrounding her, and the ... melancholy, permeating each page, as we encounter children in conflict, a family trying to get to know Hinata, and how she clashes with the ideas of each person around her. It feels like a toned-down drama, with an extra flair for something I can't explain. Like a cold tea, in the last summer of my childhood. Nostalgic, a coming of age, not for the protagonist Hinata, but for her grandson, through the eyes of his reincarnated grandma.

The progression felt so natural, it reminds me of my responsibilities as an adult, of growing up, and the need to become a member of society, from a warm hug that lets you know how well things will be. Loads of those strange analogies for lovely things we feel when in the presence of the family.

It's not a groundbreaking story, or the most interesting plot progression, but, it's special from just how much heart it's got. There's so much grandma trivia, cooking scenes, school life, conversations that don't have much meaning, it's legitimately like watching a day to day in the life of someone peaceful, reincarnated or not.

Everything was designed to be as wholesome as possible: The art, the dialogue, the expressions, the character designs. They all have a philosophy geared towards softening the day, and giving infinite positivity, with big arcs about the implications on reincarnation. It's got incredible backstories, and moments that do add stakes to the story. It isn't empty at all, so instead of just the nice style, it's got the substance to back it all up.

We should all appreciate those around us. They won't be there forever, and we'll mourn the fact we didn't reach out as soon as we could. Call them, tell them just how much you appreciate them, and never forget. There's an invisible number of calls you have with your grandparents before they'll stop being able to respond. Always keep that in mind.

8/10. Anything that strengthens the bond with me and my family, deserves a solid rating. And it's just so nice, and comfortable.

In short, It is wholesome.

When you hear about reincarnation as a premise, you start thinking about the legions of poorly written modern isekai mangas that became common in the recent years. This one is different.

Here, we have realistic characters, and the manga touches many adult topics, aging, loss, dreams and so on. A kid or a teen probbaly won't appreciate it much, but a grown up adult is much more likely to enjoy it. Honestly, If you think about it, it reminded me of Pixar's "UP" somewhat. Although the premise wasn't as tragic.

7/10 Story, 6/10 Art, 7/10 character, 7/10 enjoyment, 7/10 overall.

Story - the work ... takes itself seriously, and despite characters occasionally being somewhat stereotypical on occasion, manages to touch many topics suitable for adult people. It is heartwarming at times, sad at times, and basically it can touch heart strings of a grown up, which means it is quite good.

Art is okay. It is good, the amount of detail is decent, but it doesn't exactly standout otherwise, it just does its job.

Characters are portrayed more or less realistically, with focus on the main character. Can't say they're completely lifelike but they're believable, likable, and the manga does a good job portraying age differences well.

I enjoyed it.

Overall, it was a hidden gem I accidentally found whille looking through the piles of trash mangas, manhwas, and manhuas where every single one of them was about some sort of harem, overpowered protagonist, cheat powers and whatever else. Instead I found this by accident, and enjoyed it very much.

I highly recommend this title.

Eh, Obaachan Shoujo Hinata-chan is not as great as I expected it to be, but the premise is really catching. A grandma that gets reincarnated as a kid, this seems like a promising I can tell by the premise that it's going to be interesting than 90% of isekai plots, is it? Nah it's pretty average. This manga story is non-linear so there really is no direct story that is being told instead it's just really badly aimed slice of life anime anyone who's been reading manga long enough knows these tropes such manga are Jahy-sama and that 4chan girl (I forgot her name) but ... I was not surprised by this manga and its trope. The only thing I do like about this manga is how well they portrait the main character, I like the fact that she acts like a grandma, almost to the point of talking like one and acting like one, there is this really funny trope in this manga where the grandma constantly drinks tea and talk about her surrounding I do find these tropes fun but that's much all that there is to this manga, again remember what I said earlier it's just another slice of life anime with isekai thrown in it I did not expect anything new and I do not expect anything new now which really made me hate this manga because there was way too much that I was hyped for in this manga. I do like the fact that the main character grows but unfortunately, since there is no story I'm not sure if it matters, I forgot who the targeted audience for this manga is lolicons? I don't know but this not better due to it lacking in story and premise.
