Story: The premises does sound a lot like SAO but the characters are tasked to complete games in order to gain views to reach their 1 hundred million view goal. Each game is different and potentially leaves their lives in danger. There is a sense of danger with everything not just with the games but with each other as well as each of them has a secret that may even be connected to the whole game history.

Art: It's nice and clean and is easy to see what is happening. It definitely has impact as well. Whenever the story becomes more intense it could be seen ... through the art style. Not to mention that there are some strange creations that are interesting.

Character: Each character is given a different personality and a dark backstory. Through the story they are learning to trust each other but are still not fully. Obviously the focus is on the main character but something interesting about him is that no one can really read him. He acts sweet and innocent but has this underlying threatening aspect to him.

Enjoyment: The games are never the same that it's interesting to see how they push through each one. The games themselves are relatively simple but there is often a twist to them.

Overall I think the best part would be that even though it does have it's comedic parts they still have have a dark aspect to it where they can never really ensure that they really know what is happening.

Nakanohito Genome had a promising beginning. A psychological, dark survival game? A diverse cast? who could ask for more?
It starts as a danganropa-esqe story, BUT turns into a cutesy, light psychological comedy one where twists and backstories are frequent.

Story: Video game streamers who specialise in specific genres and have a connected(?) mastery to it IRL as well. They need to reach a certain amount of "views", which they magically acquire. Each "game" they play for "views" is different and is composed of working together a pair or a group. Failure leads to a isolation room or punishment, which is very much emphasised for ... rule breakers, albeit they are just empty threats. There are mysterious moments, but nothing notable or unpredictable.

Art: cutesy art, almost reminds me of a shoujo, they try to throw in some "horror" elements occasionally (head tilts, enlarged eyes). but it's nothing too extreme.

Characters: Each character has a backstory and personality (teenage angst?), which some can be seen as "dark". Kind of cliché and predictable in a sense. They have their own rooms and things in this world, and essentially get whatever they want if they ask.

Overall/Enjoyment: It was ok, not what I was expecting. The plot trails off. Has it's random, funny moments.
I think the manga is on hiatus/discontinued at chapter 48.

This story is great and horrible at the same time. The author managed to write pretty compelling characters yet they are given quite bland backstories, she wrote interesting plot events, but the reasoning behind it is anticlimactic. The manga is executed incredibly well, but the plot kind of sucks. I feel like the author chose a premise that is extremely lacking but has pretty good writing skills so she managed to make it into something. However, as the story goes on, the more apparent it is that the plot has nowhere to reasonably go.

Honestly though, it's not bad at all. I'm still hoping it comes ... back from hiatus because it was so fun to read.

The most endearing part about this manga is the cast and their backstories. Often people tend to absolutely despise consistent flashbacks or backstories but in this they play a direct role into the story. A character does something that seems out of character at first? The backstory gives context and pretense or better yet, doesn't. Sometimes the backstory is there to bring the characters closer and when the backstory says nothing about the characters it feels so distant.

This happens a ton in this manga and without a doubt the main focus is the characters. Sure the crazy situations they're put into are also pretty ... insane and the plot develops at a relatively good pace but the best part IS THE CHARACTERS.

The art is also really nice, a fair amount of chapters in and the art starts to play around with it style to match the emotions or some deep-rooted issue a person may be feeling.

My favorite part about this is the way that it wastes nothing it introduces. Introduce a plot point literally chapter 2 or 3? It comes back 30-40 chapters later in a big way, this character has some resembling feature about them that was passed off-handedly at the beginning of a plot point three challenges ago? It's back. For readers who aren't binging it might not make much of an impact but for someone who binged the 48 chapters it really does. They do this with characters to, chekov's gun type shit but they do it correctly.

Obviously it has it's fair share of problems, typical tropes, overly-imflated climax (can't really say about this one yet because it's not finished but it feels that way to me), character designs that are way too similar along with names being hard to differentiate, some parts feel too complex while others feel to simple, etc etc but all in all a fun, worthwhile read.

Edit: Unfortunately doesn't seem like this manga will be getting another chapter as the last one was 300 or so days ago. Truly unfortunate to be left on a cliffhanger this bad, 6/10.
