To get it out of the way I was pretty frustrated with a few of the elements of the story. For some parts the characters acted irrational or it didn't really make sense why they did certain things to remain spoiler free to say. I think what saves this manga was the fact that it is relatively short (17 chapters) and has a satisfying ending. If they just dragged it out, it would have started to seem too repetitive.
From the perspective of Yuka (the MC) it makes sense why she continues to do things that she is uncomfortable with because she loves writing. She

Aikatsu Planet!
(Anime)
add
Aikatsu Planet is definitely a unique form of media as it is a hybrid of both real life acting and anime. The way it works is that the idols in this world can enter a virtual world where they perform their 'Aikatsu' (a combination word made from both Idol and activities). It may seem unappealing but I found it to be interesting as being able to put a face to the singer and because of the difference between the worlds it makes it easy to understand the double life that Mao (main MC) deals with.
From a 'no knowledge' about Aikatsu perspective, I would say to ... Dec 3, 2020
Kirai ni Narimasu, Sayama-kun!

Has an interesting premise where the girl mc, Ayu, confesses to her crush and he, Sayama, says that they can date IF she can come to hate him. Thus it starts this sort of weird relationship where he is aware of her feelings and her trying her best to find a way to hate him.
This is a short (17chapters, complete) shoujo romance that is pretty cute seeing as Ayu is very pure and just really likes him. She is trying her best to hate him but keeps falling for him more as she knows more about him. (Not to mention that the second male lead ... Nov 9, 2020
Shiraishi-kun no Doukyuusei

Since there's, currently, no summary here's a short one. Basically our MC Shiraishi Atoi has extreme difficultly talking to people so much that people often think he's glaring at them. Because of this his parents think it's a good idea to transfer to a rural school where he gets put into class- P for special students. What makes this class special is that all the students had experienced a strange incident that gave them the ability to turn into animals at will. Slowly Atoi is adjusting to making new friends under these strange circumstances.
Honestly this story is just filled with cute fluff that is so ... Oct 8, 2020

Despite being label a shoujo under Ribon Magazine this story speaks about important issues like sexual harassments, double standards, idol expectations, gender roles honestly I love it. Yes, it is dark but its realistic. The main character has trauma from being assaulted and is slowly trying to learn more about herself and is even being a supporting figure to other people who are in similar situations. It has the regular cute art style but that doesn't draw away from the real problems at hand.
It's called Not Your Idol in English and is being published under VIZ so I really recommend reading it. Aug 24, 2020
Honey Lemon Soda
(Manga)
add
I love Honey Lemon Soda. It does sound like a typical shoujo manga where shy girls meet bad boy but what I like the most about this is how the characters grow and the nice balance between that having the light fluffiness of a usual shoujo would have.
The main girl character, Uka, is super shy that she doesn't talk much and gets bullied. Through this manga it is a gradual change for her to stand up for herself. Then there is also the main boy character, Kai. He is a not a 'bad boy' per say, I would say that he is someone that enjoys ... May 23, 2020
Runway de Waratte

First thing to say would be to read the manga for the full effect. Though the anime does do a good job at leaving the right impact with the story, the anime does seem a bit rushed in comparison.
Not to say that I hate the anime but in fact I very much enjoyed it. The art is absolutely beautiful that fully captures your attention. Even though I have zero knowledge about fashion, you understand where each character comes from and why they are passionate about what they do. Even though each character has the ability to excel in their fields there are multiple obstacles ... May 23, 2020

Story: The premises does sound a lot like SAO but the characters are tasked to complete games in order to gain views to reach their 1 hundred million view goal. Each game is different and potentially leaves their lives in danger. There is a sense of danger with everything not just with the games but with each other as well as each of them has a secret that may even be connected to the whole game history.
Art: It's nice and clean and is easy to see what is happening. It definitely has impact as well. Whenever the story becomes more intense it could be seen ... |
