I decided to take it upon myself to be the 1st person to write a review on this manga so here we go.

DISCLAIMER: if you are sensitive to rape,pedophilia,drug use,abuse,violence or in general yaoi this is not for you.

If you are familiar with Harada's work you would know all of her manga and doujinshis are quite how should I put this.... erotic i guess with all of the things mentioned in the disclaimer.Even with all that most of her works are comedy as well, and this is one of them.

STORY:
Now before you read Yatamomo you should read the one-shot prequel Sumomo to get a better ... grasp of the story. The story follows a 25 year old baby faced guy who has been selling his body off for a living and usually does so by having sponsors aka some old guy that gets to do what they want with him and in return he gets a place to stay,money,food etc... and that part of his life is mosty shown in Sumomo. I find this story for a yaoi manga quite refreshing because if you are a yaoi fanatic like myself you know how most of them surround some 2 guys that have a romanticized rapey relationship with the "uke" usually saying no to everything but the "seme" carries on anyways and later they have a perfectly normal and healthy relationship or one of them dies or something i don't know. I'll try not to spoil anything but this part is about Momo moving away from that kind of life style and meeting a person he actually likes and wants to be with.

CHARACTERS:
The characters feel real and not like some shallow sex robots or the generic yaoi characters that say every 2 seconds how their not gay to prove how "taboo" their urges are. Everything that happens in the story effects the characters and their decisions and its not just brushed off.

ART:
I hate to keep comparing other work for the sake of this review but i just find myself to be hating the art in most yaoi with the undetailed backgrounds sometimes no backgrounds whats so ever, really ugly looking characters that all appear the same with just different hair styles. Harada's art is very unique and it just keeps getting better as the series goes on.

ENJOYMENT:
I don't know if I'm just a sick person but I really enjoyed this and I usually hate when authors use rape as a plot device or to earn our sympathy for a character but Harada just makes it work and every part of this story was amazing.

OVERALL:
If you enjoy sick twisted yaoi without it being edgy or whatever this is for you and i give this manga a shiny 10.

Yatamomo is brilliant.

It delivers a brilliant character development and it's s story that gets you interested.
It manages to combine sex and good plot together in one yaoi. You only have to read until v2 to feel complete.

Overal:
This manga is worth a read and should be shown love and support through its brilliant and quick story telling. Unlike other yaoi's that only show the sex, rape, or basic and comfy story line. This yaoi doesn't even discriminate by how the uke or seme don't question about being gay or confused about changing sexuality.

If you want to read a yaoi that will fill a hole ... inside you that you never knew existed. then read Yatamomo.

Well, first of all, I must say this story is one of the best from Harada-sensei. Harada is specialized in yaoi and yaoi doujinshi. I can't find any Harada profile online so I have completely no idea if sensei is a man or woman. However, I have a strong feeling that sensei is a smart-looking modern woman, so I will refer to sensei as "she" if you don't mind.
In general, Harada works are full of explicit sex scenes which are exciting and sweet at the same time. If you find this disturbing, then please keep in mind that when it comes to yaoi, sex sells. ... Haha. Enough of chit chat, let's go straight into details.

One night, Yata went joggind and accidentally found Momo clearing c*m out of his a$$ in a public toilet. Momo offered Yata a BJ in exchange for money since he had gone broken few minutes ago. Instead of feeling disgusting and running away, Yata gently cheered Momo up and gave him his jacket together with his address. "If you completely have no place to stay, I can let you stay at mine for just one night." That's when the story began.

To make it short, it's a story about saved and savior. The kind and warm-hearted Yata truly changed Momo deep from the bottom of his heart. Momo gave up his sad and empty life as a f*ckboy to set up a serious relationship with Yata. Together, they went through all the hardships awaiting, then reached the happy ending.
Harada is very famous for "her" psycho characters, which make up outstanding plot twist and character buildings. You will never run out of surprise, joy, excitement, "aww so cute!" and "hahaha this part really killed me". Above all, the story is short enough to enjoy for a single night.
I swear you will love it even if you're not really into yaoi!

This manga has everything and a little bit more: hot sex scenes, lots of drama, and some comic relief. I was in awe at how neatly it is laid out, you get a taste of everything without feeling like one is overpowering. Sometimes the mood changes in the blink of an eye and you are thrown into a whirlpool. Harada really wrote a brilliant manga.

The last thing I expected from YataMomo was to be emotional. The plot is awesome, and the characters more so. Yata is a lovely guy, looks mean, but he’s actually kind (with a weakness for everything cute). He is also a very… ... energetic man. Momo is the type of character you might not expect to like. He doesn’t value himself, he doesn’t (didn’t) make an effort, he gambles, he is willing to do anything for money and he laughs everything off like it’s not a big deal. The laughing off part is what made me want to hug him and don’t let go. Luckily, Yata had the same impulse.

Despite Momo’s personality it’s almost impossible to not like him and Yata doesn’t leave his side. Even more, he sees through Momo’s façade and sneaks right through the cracks. It was great to read about everything Yata and Momo went through and I plan on looking up some more of Harada’s works. If YataMomo is this good, I want to know what else is out there.

Oh Harada sensei !!! Well this he is my first time reading a Harada sensei's work people have been praising her online so many times and now finally I have decided to read her work yatamomo which is so beautiful I have read only one volume of the Manga but I just couldn't stop reading it the story is little bit clichè but it's not your typical seme and uke this uke is not that typical cry baby one but he is unique and a complete slut I just enjoy this Manga alot if you have been reading yaoi for a long time you know ... the couples are literally like a staight couple just that both are men but this manga is different and I am going on a marathon of reading other sensei's work like one room Angel, happy crappy life, colour recipe, nii-chan .
