I knew what I was getting into when I opened Zannen nagara Chigaimasu, and I was not disappointed.

What you should know before reading this:
It takes about 4 minutes to read. Be prepared to laugh and/or shriek.

Story: A+++; either the epitome or the worst atrocity of the shoujo genre
Art: C-; decent at best, but the expressions of the characters are very intense (and look awkward) at moments. (That adds to the enjoyment of this series, though.)
Character: F+; flat as pancakes, but the flatness of the two protagonists makes this series even funnier.
Enjoyment: S+++; I had such a good laugh, because of this oneshot.

I rated it ... a 10 overall, because I want people to give it a second look. Immediately dismiss this if you're looking for any good shoujo series. However, if you want a good laugh and appreciate the humor in poking fun at shoujo cliches, look no further than Zannen nagara Chigaimasu.

When I finished reading this short one-shot, I was laughing my guts out, not like there was any funny scenes, but I was laughing at how absolutely horrible this was. Despite only being 20 pages, there's at least four or five times in this one shot that make you go, "What the fuck?! Haha, that's crazy!" And I hope that this is a one-shot that was made as a joke and not an actual manga (I apologize for my blunt harshness but it's true.)

Story (3): I guess you could call this story a "Love at First Sight" kind of story. The boy (or man, ... I should say) literally saw the girl and became lusted by her looks, then asked her to meet him on the top floor near the escalator. What's even more funny about this is that she agrees to it and willingly takes the time to walk to him even though she had never seen him before in her whole entire life. And not even knowing his name, she's seemingly in absolutely love with him. The rest of the plot escalates quickly from there and it's quite amusing to read.

The story does probably deserves something lower than a 3 since the story line is absolutely atrocious, but because of how funny the author handled the situation, I'd rate it a 3 at best.

Art (2): I honestly don't even know what to say about the art. It looks like some 2002 shoujo line art gone wrong. It's not mad cringy but you'll probably be surprised when you first see it, and not in a positive way. Though, I did fairly like the usage of the screentones.

Character (1): The characters are very plain. We know extremely little about them (though that's common for a one-shot) and both of them are pretty dense. The man sounds like an arrogant pervert who only wants the girl for her body, not to mention that he's 11 years older than her. The girl acts a little childish, though she is 18 years old and still in high school. She's naive and seems to fall in love wayyy too easily, which could be a good thing, if only they hadn't, literally, JUST met each other.

Enjoyment (4): From my personal opinion, it wasn't something that made me shiver from head to toe in absolute disgust. There were a lot of parts that I didn't like and some parts that I found myself laughing at; this whole thing just kind of felt like a crack manga. Pretty much the whole reason why I'm giving it a 4 is because it made me laugh a lot.

Overall (2.5): I'd rate this a 2.5. (MAL doesn't have decimals so I rounded the overall score to a 3.) I wouldn't really recommend reading this unless you wanna be plagued by bad art and a horrible story line, but that's up to you. The only real thing that would make this one-shot worth reading is the tiny bits of humor in it and the overall laughter of how poorly written this was. I can't even guarantee that you'd laugh to be honest. This may be an okay read if you're looking for a quick read on something light and nonsensical (while still SOMEHOW managing to retain a plot) but if you're looking for an actual GOOD shoujo, then you should look elsewhere.

From my memory, this was another "so bad, it's good".

... It isn't as bad as MAL will tell you btw.

The story makes little sense.

Well actually it does, but nothing gets time to develop. So it ends up being incredibly stupid.

So logically thinking, this gets a 2/10. It did the very basics of storytelling right. Beginning, Middle, End.

That's about it.

The art is basically ever shoujo ever. The diversity in this genre is incredible lol.

Now. I really enjoyed this. This was so damn stupid that it was just hilarious lol.

The unnamed dude comes and swipes the girl, and start making out.

No names. They even wanted to get married.

Why did this happen? No clue.

But the idiotic speed through this just made this so damn funny.

You need humour like mine or you are not going to see as I do.

8/10 overall, wasn't true trash, ended up being hilariously bad.

I only gave it a 3/10 because it made me laugh so god damn hard. There are no intentionally funny scenes in this manga though, but the sheer incompetence at writing anything remotely similar to a dramatic shoujo was extremely hilarious to me.

The characters are basically non-existent, they're the typical 'stoic older guy' and 'younger naive girl' archetypes done in shoujo a million times before. The story makes no sense at all, especially the marriage component. The art is standard shoujo style number 3, that every other shoujo manga has. Seriously, this has nothing in value except for unintentional comedy.

I don't think there is ... anything more to write here. Just read it for yourself, it's short and very much worth it, if you like the 'so bad it's good' genre that is.

I was recommended this by a fellow mal user and I must say. This is absolutely one of the worst stories i have ever read, it dumbfounds me how someone could create this piece of literature, i shall crucify my friend to even having the thought of recommending this garbage to me.

Art: 6.5/10
It was the greatest factor about this despicable unconceivable piece of modern ''romantic" literature, the main love interest kept the same dull frustrated expression along with his plain resting bitch face. The main lead was either gasping or extremely embarrassed during the entire ordeal.

Story: 0/10
What story? It was practically non existent, if you ... called what was there an actual coherent narrative, i question your taste in the media you consume.

Character: 1/10
Don't even ask how were the characters, they were downright disgraceful. The main love interest came across as a pure creep, HELLOOO HISOKA. "OH WE'RE SO COOL, WE MET PROBABLY AN HOUR AGO AND ARE NOW SIGNING A MARRIAGE LEGISLATION, did we forget to mention we are 11 years apart", the main lead was nothing to write home about, due to the length of one chapter diminishing any sense of development or knowing anything about the characters, but to be quite frank I would honestly not like more chapters of this monstrosity.

Enjoyment: 2/10
This can only receive a 2 out of 10 due to the sheer amount of discomfort but also amusement of how awful this story was. Nothing is able to describe the amount of disappointment I experienced.

Overall: 10/10
Would recommend again when i need to feel disappointed in humanity.

And today's romance tip of the day is, "Don't rush into things!" I mean, if you're going to fall in love with someone, you should at least take the time to get to know them before deciding that you want to be with them for the rest of your life. Unfortunately, some people don't even seem to realize this simple fact, as a specific one-shot manga demonstrates. To be perfectly honest, I only read this one-shot in the first place because of how low of a score it has on MAL; it's the second-lowest-rated manga on MAL, as a matter of fact, right above the ... manga adaptation of "High School Musical"! It felt like the obvious choice was to read it and see how bad it was (also demonstrating how much I tend to make bad decisions)....and holy crud, do I have some things to say about it now that I have!

Ladies and gentlemen, please pay attention as I explain how "Zannen nagara Chigaimasu" teaches us about the pacing of relationships.

One day, while going up an escalator, a girl has a "chance encounter" with a guy who tells her to meet him at the top of the escalator. (I honestly can't remember either of their names, which is actually kind of funny for reasons that I will explain later.) When they do meet up, it turns out that the girl is still in high school while the guy is 29, meaning that they're over a decade apart in age; however, from this encounter alone, the two come to the conclusion that they can't be without each other. Thus, they fill out a marriage application, but get this; they don't even know each other's names before they decide to get married! (Now you know why it's funny that I can't remember their names. Haha.) Then, they kiss, and it's implied that they have sex. The end.

I'm sorry, but it's really hard to take a plot like this seriously. I mean, they literally just met each other and took no time to get to know each other, and then, bada-bing bada-boom, they're getting married? These two skipped so many crucial steps in making a relationship work that it's kind of hard NOT to make fun of it! Because of this, I don't hate the story as much as I could be hating it, but there's no excusing how rushed this one-shot is, whether it's the story or the relationship. I know that the manga artist only had a few pages to tell a one-chapter story, but couldn't a FEW of those pages been used to allow them to get to know each other better instead of the whole "I have to be with you forever even though I literally just met you" crap?

Ironically, not only does the couple not take the time to get to know each other, we, the readers, barely get to know either of the two characters other than their ages and their feelings for each other; heck, we barely get to know their names! As a result of this lack of characterization, I found myself not caring about either character. What's worse, however, is their chemistry; I feel no sparks between them, and they don't look like their "marriage" is going to work out in the long run. Speaking of looks, although the artwork is the best part of the whole manga, it's not by much; although it's mostly just standard shoujo manga artwork, there are some moments, the escalator scene in particular, where the proportions and angles look kind of off. Really, Kotomi Aoki? You've worked on plenty of shoujo manga before this one; shouldn't your art have improved from all of that experience?

If Houkago no Shokuinshitsu is the short anime you should watch only if you're in the mood for making fun of something, then Zannen nagara Chigaimasu is the short manga you should read for that same purpose; one may be yaoi while the other is hetero, but both of them are "love stories" you can't take seriously about couples with zero chemistry. With that being said, go ahead and read Zannen nagara Chigaimasu if that's your agenda, but otherwise, stay as far away from it as possible. After all, if you're going to expect a manga about a couple getting married without even knowing each other's names to actually be good, not only will you be disappointed, but you will be questioning everything you have ever known about the pacing of relationships.

To be totally honest, I'm a bit too confused to review this story. I must admit, I only picked it up because of the extremely low score that was shown, so it sparked my curiosity, so I wanted to see if it was really so bad.
The thing is... it was so hilarious! It assembles all the worst cliches present in the shoujo genre in less than twenty pages, so it should be a parody, right?
But after consumming so many terrible shoujos, I can't know for sure...
Anyway, it's only around 20 pages long, so if it is meant to be a parody poking fun at the ... worst elements of the genre, it's quite entertaining.

If this was written as satire, it is one of the funniest ones ever written. If not, it is the laziest story ever made. The plot is non-existent, the characters literally not even having names. Our protagonists literally randomly bump into each other and immediately decide to get married. This sounds like I'm exaggerating, but I'm not. They literally just look at each other and it's like they're being mind-controlled into marriage for literally no reason whatsoever. The mangaka of this ones-shot has written several series that seem to have at least decent reviews, which would make it strange for her to write this on ... an absolute whim. I can only conclude it is a ridiculously and absurdist mockery of Shojo in the same way "Destroy!" by Scott McCloud is for Dark Age superhero comics. In that case, it deserves a 10/10

Someone told me to read the worst shoujo manga on earth, and so I did. To my surprise, I didn't hate it, but I didn't like it, either. It's much too short for me to completely loathe it, and it's also too brief for me to say anything good about it.

The story is mainly a love at first sight and pretty unrealistic and strange. I would say more but it would be too easy to spoil it.

Someone mentioned to me that the characters' faces looked like balloons with the air let out of them and eyeballs attached. I really do not think they are that ... bad; their eyes are smooth and a little bit too big, is all I'd say. Otherwise it's pretty normal for shoujo.

There isn't very much to say about the characters from the 20 or so pages this manga lasted. They both seem to be impulsive airheads, I guess.

Well, it's not like I gouged my eyes out reading this. (I actually have another shoujo manga that I completely hate with all my being.) It's simply a oneshot that has a very questionable plot, and the super unrealistic situation it encompasses makes it difficult to like. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, especially someone who hasn't read shoujo before, because I wouldn't want someone to get a bad first impression. Please go read something else.

Ok, the plan was to review Trinity Seven but i found this one and i'm going to do it instead.

The first issue i have with this one is that it's not as bad as i expected, don't get me wrong, the 4 you see there is deserved in my opinion, but it's not a 3 or 2 as the second worst manga here deserves to be.

(Story) 4/10

The guy and girl see each other faces and fall in love at the spot but there is an issue, he is 12 years older than her and she is still in high school (she is legal though), but ... after a short talk he wants to have sex with her, she agrees and they go do their business.
Now as someone who likes age gaps romances this should be good, i like the ones with younger males better but this is fine as well, but add confusing dialogue, characters jumping from a trait to the opposite

(Characters) 3/10

-The guy: His face for most time is stuck at an agree expression which can make him look funny, he have a weird switch wher"e at one point when he knows her age he is shocked and afraid but suddenly he wants to have sex with her, weird, add that according him he can't break any law yet he was willing to take have sex with her even before knowing she is legal.

-The girl: She is meh, not as funny as the guy, but she isn't annoying as well, so i don't dislike her.

(Art) 6/10

Now i like shoujo art but this isn't the reason why i gave it 6, the reason is the face he made when he stared her the first time.

(Enjoyment) 6/10

It was fun, not bad (actually i imagine it would have done if it continued) but not good as well, but since i had some good laughts and was interested with what was going on i can say i like it.

This review has spoilers, not that I think anyone will care given how completely appalling this manga was.

"Oh, what's your name?" The almost 30 year old asks the 18 year old, while filling out a marriage application.

That is the entire story, and it happened after meeting each other maybe a few hours before. I read this hoping it would be funny, but no, it's just terrible. The only funny thing about this is how bad it is. The only good thing about it was the art, which still isn't the best, but it is GODLY compared to the contents of this "romance." I will ... never get the 5 minutes that I spent reading this back.

If you still want to read it, go ahead, good luck. But if you're searching for something even slightly good, look somewhere else.

Let me be perfectly honest here- There's bad, and there's really bad.
This isn't really bad it's just regular vanilla bad, and I don't think it deserves to be as low as it is down this list.
The story sucks, the characters suck, but the art is decent, and I was able to laugh at the absurdity. In comparison, there are manga I have read that I couldn't even laugh at, I could just stare blankly into abyss as I either felt myself fill with pure disgust, rage, or both, preventing me from even gaining ironic enjoyment from them.
This manga deserves to be ranked low, but 2nd ... lowest rated on MAL (as of my writing this.)? Not even remotely.

This right here is what we call “Peak” ladies and gentlemen. This manga is the pinnacle of quality, not just in the shoujo genre, but in all genres in the entire medium of manga!

The storytelling has “Berserk” levels of depth to it, with characters so fleshed out that you’ll think you’re actually close with them irl after you’ve finished reading.

The art style is reminiscent of the greats, like “One Punch Man” and any of Uziga Waita’s early works. In other words, this manga radiates with sheer beauty and charm that I’m sure anyone would fall for.

The best part is that it’s a oneshot, ... but clearly outclasses all mangas by comparison. If you don’t believe me, read this shi- I mean read this masterpiece for yourself, and experience the enlightenment that me and others like “MadaMada” have been shown my brothers and sisters!

No stupid third parties meddle with our couple
No unnecessary jealousy/possessiveness
No unnecessary stretched story
No annoying misunderstandings

Well... there is literally NOTHING, actually –except the peak comedy ofc, which is the manga itself. Age gap, a man, a high school girl, marriage. Now imagine it with a classic shoujo art style. There, you just kinda read the whole story. Don't bother to find it yourself anymore. :p

I love how the mangaka avoid all the troubles and complexities that this kind of relationship will bring and keep the story really simple and short for us lol But seriously though, wouldn't it be better if things work easily like that ... in real life too? If we weren't have to think at all?? I mean, i wish i was this determined and decisive at anything, like these characters, really. I can't even pick a pencil without thinking throughly, worrying if i regret buying it. But look what we have here...

Also, what was that marriage settlement he pulled out of his pocket randomly? About how many years were you expecting a random, marriagable high schooler to show up before you, sir??

I read it out of curiosity (thanks to these reviews and comments), and am left with a little question: "WHAT 👏🏼 WAS 👏🏼 THE👏🏼 REASON👏🏼??"
