The Manga Taisho (マンガ大賞) is an annual Japanese manga award. The award is limited to series with eight or fewer collected volumes, in order to promote newer titles. The nominating committee, composed of staff members from bookstores, each initially vote for five series and the titles with the top ten number of votes become the official nominees of the year. Finally a second round of voting determines the winner, as well as second and third place. Mangaby

Named after Osamu Tezuka, the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize (手塚治虫文化賞, Tezuka Osamu Bunkashō) is a yearly manga prize awarded to manga artists or their works that follow the Osamu Tezuka manga approach founded and sponsored by Asahi Shimbun. The prize has been awarded since 1997, in Tokyo, Japan. Some manga that can make you distrust anyone's intentions, because you'll get trust issues if you do take it on face value. List of SOME mangas that has winning awards in the past. For part 2: https://myanimelist.net/stacks/19694 There are manga that are so amazingly well done that they set the bar a tad too high for any anime adaptation. But then there are attempts to bring them to the screen that go beyond that and don't stop at failing to meet expectations: they're outright lazy, shoddy, phoned-in cash grabs that drain the source material of what made it so good to begin with. Number of sales and date that number was acquired from in notes for each. Some of them I have personally estimated a higher figure than the date says. What is the first thing you think about, when you think of Japan? Seinen manga is targeted to males, has action, philosophy, psychological elements, maybe some realistic romance. After finishing Blade of the Immortal I read an interview of the mangaka, Hiroaki Samura. He talked about how Manji and Rin’s relationship works. They are a team. Too much age gap to be “partners”. Or is there? That thought adds a dynamic to the story. Manservice delivered on a Silver Platter. This list contains queer male-oriented representation, ordered by how I rate the manga in general. Some of the content is straight-up Bara while other entries merely have great manservice or gay representation. While it might look like you don't really need to know all of this, you never know when it will be useful: for instance with quizzes, random questions that you wouldn't know the answer to otherwise, fun facts to tell someone else, or if there's trouble or necessity of intervention in your vicinity. |
