OP protagonists in both mangas find themselves transported to a world similar to a game world they played in. Another similarity is how theey try to figure out which rules still apply in this new environment. 

Overlord and The New Gate both takes place in fantasy world where the main protagonist encounters many new challenges after being transported. Both series' main protagonist are very powerful as they learn to adapt with their newfound powers. There is decent amount of virtual reality themes in their world and many fantasy elements. In addition, the protagonist develops relationships with other characters with a variety of results.  

-Both MCs got into the game world and everything became real -Both MCs are OP and got OP equipments and items from the game -Both MCs are knowledgeable about the game and the world they are thrown into -In both mangas the world seems to have changed slightly in comparison to the game.

Both series have characters characters that get dropped into a new world and have to learn about the politics and other info. In Tate no Yuusha, the character is totally new as opposed to The New Gate but it's still fun. Tate no Yuusha is a dark-ish take on the 'trapped in a fantasy world that has game like characteristics' story. So instead of it being an MMO with other players it's about integrating into a world that has leveling systems, like DanMachi or Grimgar. You won't regret it!
