Both are lighthearted manga that will make you laugh and maybe also shed a tear. While Ouji Romantica is a collection of one-shots and 99% Cacao is a 3 chapter story they are both enjoyable. Both stories put a little spin on the typical Shoujo manga. I personally enjoy female leads who think for themselves and a stronger and more masculine male lead who also proves to have some real character. I think both of these mangas showcase these types of characters. 

kodomo no omocha or kodocha is vwry long with 10 volumes and 102 episodes for the anime.But basically it has the girl sana softening the heart of the boy. But sana takes alot longer to get with akito.But it is serious in some parts and light in others and also has alot of comedy i read it before this so i just hope you like it. 

The main girls are very similar. Both nice...but very ditsy. I can imagine them getting into the same situations. The art in Cocoa is better(tho less original), but the story in fruit basket is much better and more detailed.
