Modern BL manga that received top accolades in 2020 to the present, which will grow over time as more titles become 1st place award winners, #1 bestsellers, and receive other top accolades. Some manga pre-date this time frame but are included if they won an award or topped a list in the past few years.

BL/Yaoi/Shounen Ai manga are fiction but some hit too close to home for how realistic the situation, environment, and/or characters they have. Because of this, they tend to be on the mature side and tackles the situations that people in same sex relationships experiences in real life.

Live-action adaptations often leave a bad impression on anyone who has read or watched the source material. Many are even quick to say that they just should never exist. But I beg to differ—these kind of shows helps us look at things in another perspective. WILL your interpretation of [manga] be different if it is acted by people? I don't want to say live-actions are good, in fact I'm still cringing most of the time, but they give fresh air at least.

-Manga that deals with real life problems of gay people.
-Some of the manga in the stack are just fluffy that are portrayed in a more realistic way.

PS: Ao No Flag and Shimanami Tasogare are queer/lgbt themed manga not BL but I still added it here so it could get more recognition.
