Seaside Stranger is a gay manga between Mio, A high school student who recently lost his parents and spends his days by the sea and Shun, An openly gay novelist who has been living with his aunt since his parents disowned him. Mio and Shuns relationship moves fast so it goes by fast but we get more material of the couple together, they go through many hardships together and stick with each other through it all. The manga is NOT for minors as it is explicit. However, if you are over 18 I think it would be a great read for any BL lover. If ... you like BL, romance, slice of life, age gap, and explicit scenes this is a good one to read.

Seaside Stranger (also known as The Stranger by the Shore) is my first BL manga I have read, since the film only covers volume one and I genuinely enjoyed the film I decided to go out and buy volumes 2-6. As. The reason I gave it a 9 is that I wish we got more wholesome content but really it's a lot of Shun having a hard time with life. I just got into BL so I wasn't sure what I was getting into but it was genuinely excellent and I 100% would say read it.

This series is truly an amazing, one-of-a-kind BL series. Taking place right after its Umibe no Étranger counterpart, Harukaze no Étranger continues Mio and Shun's story as they travel from Okinawa to Hokkaido, and the upcoming volumes deal with Shun's family life, and from there, his relationship with Mio.

There aren't many BL manga like this series, ones that don't fetishize guys or homosexuals and are just told as an average romance - despite how horny Mio constantly is, which makes me laugh sometimes. Just like it's prequel story, the manga is very beautiful visually, and focuses a lot more on characters, and their stories ... and relationships between Shun and Mio, and even introduces more prominent and important characters, such as Shun's adoptive brother, his parents, a previous ex, crush, and so many more characters, as well as how gay individuals live in everyday situations with others who may judge them.

Moments can be very cute and funny, as well as serious, deep, and even a bit... sexual. It adds an emotional impact that other yaoi don't have, and honestly, I love it.

There is one thing to beware of about this series, that I know many people will agree with, is the updates for new chapters or tankobons take a while to come out. Depending on where you live, and fan translations of officials, you could be waiting anywhere from one to three years for the next volume to come out, sometimes with setbacks. For example, the newest book in the series, Volume 5 - or Volume 6 in the West as they merged the two series together here - was set to release back in November, then they said December, and now it's March. The previous book came out the November before. So it can be pretty crazy, and there aren't many places to read it online.

If you can get past that, Harukaze no Étranger is a great, romantic, and beautiful BL series that should be read by any lover of the genre.

I found a random BL manga that interested me but dropped it due to boredom and uninterest as I kept reading.

It's a good manga, the art is the most vital part, it feels light and detailed at the same time with characters looking really good and with great natural backgrounds like snow or beaches. Mio and Shun's relationship is another great part of it, however, it's covered with all this filler bullshit that could make it so much more. I love how wholesome and cute and how much depth there is to the relationship but I wish it could get more to the point so ... I didn't feel like I was wasting my time.

I have it dropped, but I could see myself coming back and picking it up again at some point. Its weaknesses out weight its strengths a lot which hurts me a lot for some reason

7/10, good but could be much better. (Maybe 9/10)
