Centered around a town and its strange and creepy happenings. 

Being made by the same author both have some similarities and points in common: -Both are crime mangas with a detective as a main character -The detectives must overcome themselves in order to solve the case - Each story has some weird stuff and delusional things -Fantastic draw art, really wonderful  

Through an unraveling, the strange nature of the world reveals itself to the viewer in spectacular fashion. While a lot more contained than 20th Century Boys as well as perhaps a touch darker in content, SOIL is a great mystery all the same. 

Even if Soil is an intricate tightly woven story and Blood Diver Ringo is a bit more light hearted work actually classified as shounen, they both share a surrealistic and psychedelic mystery that brings you on a strange journey.  

Non-traditional art, surrealistic worlds where what is real or not is constantly blurred, aimed at a mature audience.  

Soil and Dorohedoro are both mysteries with extremely chaotic plots that actually are thought through from the beginning to the very end. Soil is a bit more mature in it's plot and humor, but just as Dorohedoro's messy first volume, it's really worth trying to get through the massive wall of salt that will keep you from reading Soil. 

+ Both feature a male and female main character, who are detectives + Both have very similar settings, with strong Mystery undertones + Both take place mainly in 'contemporary' Japanese-style neighbourhoods + Similar 'dark' Seinen atmosphere + Both make use of black humour - Paranoia Street (PS) has a much more light-hearted and casual approach to its plot than Soil does - PS has more elements of the Adventure genre than Soil - PS reads more like a collection of cases, as opposed to Soil's linear plot - Soil has much more character development - The female protagonists have drastically different personalities and physical appearances - The male protagonists have drastically different personalities and physical appearances read more 

If you ever want to know how psychedelic drugs feels without trying them yourself, you can always try reading these two. They are also two of the most underrated mega-seinen works in the scanlation scene. I made up the word "mega-seinen", but you get the idea.
