The Shogakukan Manga Award (小学館漫画賞, Shōgakukan Mangashō) is one of Japan's major manga awards, sponsored by Shogakukan Publishing. It has been awarded annually for serialized manga since 1955 and features candidates from a number of publishers. Each winning work will be honored with a bronze statuette and a prize of 1 million yen (about US$9,000). Special awards are also occasionally given out for outstanding work, lifetime achievement, and so forth. ![]() ![]() List of SOME mangas that has winning awards in the past. ![]() ![]() These are works that quite stood out to me in how dynamics between friends were portrayed. Some titles have their own style added into the manga, this is totally fine - so cartoonish features and anatomically incorrect proportions are fine - so long as backgrounds or character art is high quality and reminiscent of realistic imagery/CGI then its eligible for this list. ![]() ![]() Tragedy is a genre of drama based on human suffering and, mainly, the terrible or sorrowful events that befall a main character. In these manga, the Protagonist experiences trauma from war or apocalyptic-like scenarios. These deal with realistic portrayals of the mental and physical effects war has left many lives with as well as those whom are ripped from their lives and may never return again... ![]() ![]() Mangaby

There are many supernatural mangas that I love, however, these are the ones that not only do I love, I consider them truly unique whether that be referring to the world setting, story concept, or characters. ![]() ![]() "To be running breathlessly, but not yet arrived, is itself delightful, a suspended moment of living hope." ![]() ![]() what is the hottest manga to read this year? Today, I’d like to introduce 13 most popular manga of 2022 including the worldly less-known but domestically trendy series and the must-read comic books newly serialized. ![]() ![]() tracing lineages of manga through assistantships can be an incredibly interesting way to discover manga, draw comparisons between artists, and track the vicissitudes of style and technique through the history of the medium. surely there must be quite a lot to learn for an artist who is protégé to inio asano, whose iconic style, deft storytelling, and progressive techniques have brought him warranted praise as perhaps "the voice of his generation" in manga. ![]() ![]() My favorite genre ![]() ![]() All of these are extraordinary, impactful, enjoyable or just a crazy read |
