Splatoon and Yo-Kai Watch are two kodomo manga series that are based off of relatively known Nintendo game series, loosely featuring aspects present in the actual games to make more room for some kind of narrative and mostly comedic gags. The comedy is pretty cartoony and not unlike what you can kind in some manga in the same demographic, and non-human characters have similar roles of straight man, wacky types, and ambiguously antagonistic types.

Yo-Kai Watch and Pokémon Horizon are two kodomo manga series based off of popular Nintendo-associated video game series that feature adorable and cool monster characters alongside humans. The main character in both series is a regular human boy who wasn't really familiar with these creatures until he gets to see one up close and gets a white watch/bracelet with mysterious abilities related to these monsters. Lots of themes of never giving up and positivity, though the latter series isn't as gag-oriented as the former.

Yo-Kai Watch and Stitch are two gag manga series based on relatively popular characters from other forms of media (game for former and movie for latter). The main character of the series is a regular Japanese elementary school student who then meets a non-human creature and somehow ends up being friends with it, starting a whole bunch of adventures that feature other non-human creatures as well. Relatively kid-friendly and may be easy to find in your local bookstore.

Yo-Kai Watch and Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure are two kodomo manga with similar types of gag humor and featuring monster characters from popular Nintendo-associated video game series. The main character is an ordinary human boy who seems to have some connection to the fictional monsters that other humans do not, and ends up meeting and befriending all kinds of wacky and fun creatures. There are some seriously dangerous moments at times, but much of it is still fine for a kid to handle.

In some ways, Yo-Kai Watch is kind of like a kiddie version of xxxHOLiC; the main character is a boy who has the ability to see youkai and/or the supernatural all around him in some way, and many chapters has him trying to solve problems related to them, further strengthening bonds between humanity and the supernatural. There's a bit of silliness with some of the dramatic moments here and there too, though the former series is more focused on comedy and the latter is very stylish and can be rather morbid at times.

Yo-Kai Watch and Magical Pokémon Journey are two kid-friendly manga series that are based off of popular Nintendo-associated game series centered around catching fantasy monsters. The main protagonist of both series is a human who befriends these creatures (including ghostly beings which is mainly the focus in Yo-Kai Watch) in many comedic and adventurous chapters. Both series share a similar sense of humor somewhat, though the former is more goofier and the latter is more cutesy.

Both books are based on silly video game series. If you enjoyed reading one of these books then will you probably enjoy the other. They both have a similar type of comedy and full of outrageous expressions.
