This is a really strange manga to describe for me. I feel like I get what they were going for, but I also don't. The core of it seems to be focused on love, parental love, romantic love, etc. of all types and of all combinations. However, its presented in a really strange way, where it's happening randomly and there are a lot of blurred lines that feel really awkward. It was certainly different from anything else I've ever read. The story is primarily about Naoya and Rotte, and that's the relationship that the manga closes on. But the development of that was so strange with her mother and sister and everyone ... else involved and that combined with just the general free tone of the manga made it a very different type of love story I guess. Nothing seems to actually be happening for most of the manga, at least in ways that I can explain, but it's still moving forward sort of. The world itself was pretty generic, though they seemed to focus on aspects different from the ones usually focused on by a large margin which made it somewhat interesting, and the comedy was reasonably solid, though also strange in that it was once again a lot 'freer' for lack of a better word. The art too was decent enough, but it had strange elements to it, especially the framing. Ultimately, I don't particularly feel that it was that good or that bad, rather it was just strange.  

tl;dr: A manga about love that is quite strange and unique though maybe not for the better.

The omnisexual pervert's crumpet, so to speak.

Make no mistake: this is indeed one of those brainless, plot-less "cuties doing cute stuff laden with fan-service" romantic-comedies. For the most part there is no plot and it's just a series of disconnected stories except at the end when there is suddenly an actual plot and then a sudden "conclusion" for the sake of having one which was barely built up towards.

Obviously a comic like this lives or dies by the quality of two things: the fan-service and the cuteness of the relationship between the characters and this succeeds very well in both.

The fan-service primarily focuses on the ... female lolis but it was a welcome surprise in just how diverse it is apart from that. The viewer can expect about 50% female loli fan-service and the other 50% devoted to all the other varied things. We have: buxom, very buxom, bisyounen, incest, hutanari, traps, double-bluff traps (yes), kemonomimi and whatnot of every which gender and age combinations. Yes we have female-to-male bisyounen traps as well of course. It's perverted to the core and makes no apologies for how out-there some of it is.

The relationships are cute; there are three primary characters that due to explicitly stated racial traits experience love regardless of age, gender, species, and familiar bonds: two of which are 10 year old female lolis and one is a 22 year old male bisyounen that looks about 15 that happens to be the parent of one of the former two and _yes_ we get to see the sex scene where 12 year old Naoya conceives a child; don't worry. The series focuses on a relationship between Lotte and Naoya that seems to drift in-between of a love relationship and a parent–child relationship and Asuha is frequently heavily implied to have sexual feelings for both of the former two (seems oddly talkative and knowledgeable about the parental phallus and also makes out with both on more than one occasion). This is the nice thing about many relationships in the series: they're left suitably ambiguous and a mixture of a variety of things but still remain cute — they don't seem to need to put themselves into a box.

In the end the Lotte–Naoya relationship is a standard tundere-type relationship where Lotte has a hard time admitting growing affection for Naoya and insists on calling the latter merely a "toy" but gets over that somewhat quickly.

The humor is nothing burst-out-laughing and mostly just a vessel for the fan-service typically revolving around embarrassing situations where characters are left with no underwear. (the comic shows buttocks in full but never genitals or female-præsenting nipples) — it's not unfunny but nothing genius.

For many years, Succubi have been a source of many an erotic fantasy. Often pictured as beautiful women, they take a mans essence as a source of sustenance. But the glorious land of Japan was not happy with leaving this as it was. They needed something else... something more...

And this new development was to make the succubus a 10-year-old girl.

The keen eyed among you will have noticed that this manga, with several underage characters, is listed with an ecchi tag. As one might expect, these two facts lead to more than one uncomfortable moment.

However, the story, characters and humour, if you can look past the ... uncomfortable air that this manga produces, are first-rate. There is many a cute moment, and a constant supply of humourous events.

Story - as said above, the story revolves around a 10-year-old succubus, rotte, and her first harem candidate, the canonically large cannoned Naoya. Having only, at this point, read 50 of the 70 chapters, I can say that it is an enjoyable story which progresses well and allows for the development of involved characters, relationships and plotlines.

Art - I am no art critic, and can get by with stick figures if the story is good enough, but this art is consistently cute.

Characters - The cast of characters are mostly memorable, and rarely boring or annoying. A new character is introduced every few chapters, either as a new main or a recurring side character. All of the characters seem to have some kind of development, but not a great deal. This is basically a slice-of-life after all.

Enjoyment - other than when the 10-year-old characters meet the ecchi tag, this is a cute and quite heartwarming manga, with a few twists from time-to-time to keep it interesting. There aren't many sad moments, if that's what you're in to, but there is a lot of humour.

Overall - This manga may have a questionable premise, but it is still worth the read, and i would recommend it to anyone who can see past the discomforting themes.


I have read this and am likely on a watch list with some government agency.

I have finished the anime and have just finished with the manga. I would say that even with most of their stories the same the ending path the anime pursue and what the manga pursue is quite different. You can think of the anime's ending just another story before it reach the manga ending.

For those of you who are asking where to start reading after the anime, I would suggest read from the start, because the stories depicted in the anime is kind of not complete or a little different from the manga and the anime stories are not in the same order as ... of the manga, its more like it takes bits and bits of the manga and make it into an episode not only that but it add small talking scenes that they deem would be more complete or more appropriate etc. So you can watch the anime first and read the manga from 1-the end because that way you will be able to truly complete Rotte no Omocha. Just a friendly suggestion for someone who finished the whole series.

Now into the review portion, what I think of the manga as a whole is not really interesting, you can only see the development at the very end, and that development is not something you will go WOOWWWW for, but its more like a quick happy ending. The whole story is really pale and there really isnt anything to look forward to and nothing to be particularly excited for, unless your a hen*** freak (hopefully not ^^). Though throughout the whole manga there is only one thing that Im really hoping that the little princess and our handsome MC will say, and they indeed said it at the end, so quite satisfying in my part at least the author did give me a closure, and reassurance that the princess didnt take after her mother (you will know what Im saying if you read the manga hehe). Enjoy guys, I dont hat the manga but its just a good manga to pass time.
