Murcielago is hard to describe. It's got sex, gore, violence, lesbians, and more. Somehow or other, Murcielago manages to mesh all these things together to make a pretty crazy but entertaining read.
Story 7/10
So far, the story has been interesting, with new developments occurring with each case. Although the story is mostly divided up into "murder cases" there are plenty of strings that connect and foreshadow plot points to come. Not much has happened yet, but it's been a good setup and entertaining so far.
Art 8/10
For the most part, the art has been smooth and rather straightforward. What really stands out however are the character designs.

What do you have when you two cops, one is a lesbian with huge boobs and totally crazy, the other a derpy spazz who's also pretty crazy and also a lesbian. You have this wonderful Manga!
Story 9/10: The story is set up basically like a police case, random pyscho or freak causing trouble, and our heroines have to kill them. I find this set up interesting, we always get to what kind of messed up fucker(s) they are up against and it's always interesting. Despite all the brutality, blood, and occasional (hot) lesbian sex scene, this manga is surprisingly really funny. Art 9/10: The artwork ... Aug 2, 2020
This manga is the Mount Rushmore of internal-misogyny. It depicts women as perverts, manipulators, victims, crazies, and cold-blooded killers. Worst of all, it’s mostly toward their gender. I stopped reading after chapter 22. An event occurred, which made my jaw drop. It ruined a female-only space that seemed like a lesbian utopia.
Without spoiling too much, there’s much female-on-female crime that happens in this manga. There’s no “sisterhood” at all. The female x female crime isn’t depicted realistically either. I understand that women are catty towards each other, but they are rarely, if ever, homicidal. They fill this manga with Yuri scenes, so it wants us ... Jan 11, 2016
Please....please be easy on me It's my first manga review on this site. Anyways Most of the other besides the main lead characters are pretty forgettable or dead (if you are a villain). The best thing about this series is the art from the design of the main character Kuroko and cute moe girl Hinako and how it handles it's blood & gore I forgot to mention this series has a LOT OF IT. Including Lots of fanservice including lesbian sex (hey the main character is a lesbian after all). Most of the problems goes to the pacing of the story. Why because if the

This review will contain some mild spoilers
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- First of all Murcielago isn't a manga for everyone. It's filled to the brim with gore, sex and murders and mangaka doesn't shy away from killing children so it won't be everyone's cup of tea especially when you consider main character Kuroko is a psychopathic lesbian serial killer who's also a pedophile and prays on under age or/and emotionally unstable and vulnerable women and girls. Now if you're still here after all of this then you'll probably enjoy first volumes Murcielago, ... Jun 4, 2022
The short version: Although this manga may not be the thing for everyone, i love it to the core.
What makes this manga so good is the strong connection between the story, the world and the exceptionally well-written complex characters. The people aren't just black and white, but have many sides to them. A lot of them also have their own unique role in the story. That goes for the protagonists as well as the antagonists. I was able to sympathize with many of the evil guys because they give you the feeling that they are not evil in their hearts, but forced to do the ... Aug 24, 2016
I felt that this manga was a train wreck from the start. The plot didn't interest me, a lot of the characters designs were incredibly hard to distinguish and had almost nothing going for them in the story.
This series heavily relies on using lots of blood/gore and sex to try and keep the readers attention, with every arc starting with some kind of lesbian sex scene and ending with a huge blood bath. This can be fine if the style of the drawings are unique and cool and the things that happen are so over the top that you can actually like it (Rule of ... Nov 23, 2017
I'm going to start my review off by saying Murcielago is not a manga for everyone. You're either going to love how ridiculous it is or you're going to find it off-putting. It's certainly an edgy manga so if that's not your thing I wouldn't bother reading it.
That being said, if you love ridiculous action, horror and comedy all mixed together you'll probably enjoy Murcielago. STORY: 8 The premise of Murcielago for the unaware is that serial killer Kuroko Koumori is spared the death penalty to hunt down people like herself. Murcielago tells it's story in arcs with each arc being a new "case" ... May 27, 2018
Updated review (40 chapters in)
To summarize, this is a manga I very much enjoy and look forward to collecting the entire series as it releases. It's a personal favorite of mine, mainly due to the main character. She really ties it all together with her aesthetic and personality and is easily one of my favorite characters of all time. She's a borderline psychopath ex killer hired by the state to track down and kill high profile murderers. She sports long black hair with butchered bangs and baggy eyes that always have a sinister but cutesy look to them. She occasionally tilts her head completely sideways ... |
