Day 20/30 of the Yurithon:
This might be the most vile and depraved piece of fiction I have ever laid my eyes on. And I'm so glad I did. "Murciélago" is simply a work of fine literature that belongs in the Library of Congress. This is a far superior "Gushing over Magical Girls" in every facet imaginable. I really enjoyed the villain-of-the-week-esque plot progression, with Kuroko and Hinako dealing with the most outlandish cases imaginable. From roided-up wrestlers reliving their glory days to sapphic sects having sesbian lex and holding sacrifices, I enjoyed seeing how our main duo handled (and in some cases, dodged) their oncoming ... problems. This was truly dumb fun to a T. And it's helped so much by the stunning art. Seriously, some of the action looked like it was drawn by Murata with a hint of Shindo L. The main duo of Kuroko and Hinako had really great chemistry and they aren't even supposed to be a couple. I know this is the Yurithon, but I was in awe of how good this yuri was, in spite of lacking a wuh-luh-wuh relationship at the core of the story. I honestly think that may have contributed to my enjoyment of this yuri more than others; not having to give a shit about romance really saved my ass. That being said, I do wish the audience got to take a deeper look into the psyche of Kuroko and Hinako. These girls are straight-up (not exactly sure about "straight") sociopaths and I was interested in seeing how they turned out this way. In the 27 chapters I read, I was hoping to at least see a crack in their exuberant personalities. Unfortunately, this never came to fruition, but I could definitely settle for the violence and horniness. "Murciélago" sits on the Judas cradle between eight-out-of-ten and nine-out-of-ten in my opinion. On a good day, I'd say this manga was an nine, and on a bad day I'd say eight. But considering that I read this masterpiece today, call me the dude that sentenced OJ Simpson for armed robbery, because "Murciélago" gets a nine. This manga brought me blood, guts and sex with no nuts. What more could I have asked for?

First of all Murcielago isn't a manga for everyone. It's filled to the brim with gore, sex and murders and mangaka doesn't shy away from killing children so it won't be everyone's cup of tea especially when you consider main character Kuroko is a psychopathic lesbian serial killer who's also a pedophile and prays on under age or/and emotionally unstable and vulnerable women and girls.
Now if you're still here after all of this then you'll probably enjoy first volumes Murcielago, ... it's just Kuroko killing other serial killers and gets some bitches as the kids say these days. However, as the volumes progress the mangaka tries to be more "experimental" with their writing style and I'm all for that but this mangaka just can't handle arcs nor set up a mystery to save their lives. The only arc in this manga works is the Rose Marie arc and even that's a rushed mess.
Every other arc is so sluggish, they drag on and on also the characters that are introduced in the are mega uninteresting, none of them have any intriguing personalities nor quirks. They're all as stereotypical as they can get, don't get me wrong the main cast is also tropey and usually one or two notes when it comes to their characteristics but at least the story doesn't treat them seriously, the police force is so boring and I couldn't give less of a shit about them or the cases they do through, the manga is at it's best when Kuroko kills maniacs and flirts with girls to layer have sex with them. I'm not against dumb fun manga trying to expand their story but this one just can't do it. Another thing, and this one is more nit picky, during the school bomber arc, kuroko just kills one of the girls without a hesitation, this is the same girl that just forgave serial killers because they were cute and pretty, it was kinda out of character for her. Other than that this MANGS can be really fun and I would say give it a shot.

This manga is the Mount Rushmore of internal-misogyny. It depicts women as perverts, manipulators, victims, crazies, and cold-blooded killers. Worst of all, it’s mostly toward their gender. I stopped reading after chapter 22. An event occurred, which made my jaw drop. It ruined a female-only space that seemed like a lesbian utopia.

Without spoiling too much, there’s much female-on-female crime that happens in this manga. There’s no “sisterhood” at all. The female x female crime isn’t depicted realistically either. I understand that women are catty towards each other, but they are rarely, if ever, homicidal. They fill this manga with Yuri scenes, so it wants us ... to believe that the women are in love with each other, but then chapters later, women are butchering each other. I am a Yuri fan. I love females, and I love it when females get along and love each other. This manga allured me with its Yuri-Ness. However, I was left shocked and disappointed. I would not recommend to any wholesome Yuri fan out there.

If you are a yuri fan, you love it when girls are romantic. There is no room for homicidal maniacs in yuri works, especially when women commit a crime against their fellow women. If you do not mind the crime/horror aspect, then this would be the manga.
