Both take place in a school, both have a female lead. Barajou no Kiss the main character has to kiss cards for her knights to use their powers. In Kigurumi Guardians she has to kiss the giant stuffed animal to turn him into a man so he can use his powers to protect her.

Both main characters team up with a group known as 'the Guardians' in order to rescue people's hearts. The key difference is that Amu is a magical girl with a string of transformations and Hakka is, if anything, an accessory to Ginger. Both were also published in the shoujo magazine Nakayoshi, therefore they're aimed at the exact same demographic.

These works are very different in spirit but share some topics. Similarities are mostly in the fantasy elements: - Costumed characters, that are actually living and breathing; - The characters, who transform into these living dolls, battle; - The transformation power seems to be of a no good kind; - A partner takes part in the transformation; - The action that the partner performs is embarrassing and mildly sexual, which is the source of fanservice; - One side of the pair is forceful (the source of rapey undertones fanservice). Both manga feature pairs of supernatural beings or gifted beings whose sole purpose is to defeat approaching enemies. They both have that "master and servant" kind of relationships. While Kigurumi Guardians has humans with pure hearts paired with supernatural beings, Inu x Boku SS has both master and servant that have powers. The main pairs are also between an older male and a younger female.

***NOTE: I'm comparing this to the Princess Tutu ANIME. The manga is pretty garbage.*** It's hard to pinpoint the exact things that make me want to relate the two. There's the magical elements intertwined with a regular every day setting, the grounded relationships, the spot on cute and goofy humour and similar motifs regarding hearts, but more than that I just get the same Feeling when consuming both works. One that is hard to describe. All I can say is if you enjoyed one, at least try out the other. I think, like me, you'll enjoy both! :)
