Do you like videogames? These girls sure as hell do! Welcome to New Game, a 4-koma where you will follow the lovable Aoba Suzukaze in her adventures in the videogame industry.
New Game does a great job in providing scenes typical of the cute girls genre while keeping a plot with development and some more serious moments, always keeping a lighthearted tone. It never gets stale because things are always in motion, and you can see the characters working hard to achieve their objectives while having fun moments and getting closer to the others. This manga features a very likeable cast of characters with their ways to ... Jun 5, 2023
An adorable story following a cast of women and their passion for video games and respecting and working together in the workplace
This manga has the usual little bit of fanservice (which is more than fine because for once the cast are all adults for once) and cute scenes between the cast, but it is more than what it looks like at first glance. New Game touches on the difficulties and significance of compliance, sacrifices, independence, teamwork, competitiveness, strong will, inspiration, and encouragement in a creative workplace. I'm going to be honest, I've dropped this before. I only finished it after needing a palate cleanser from the last, way more dramatic manga I read.
Story: 6/10 There's kind of a story? It more about Aoba's career progress really. There are some mini-arcs though. Not anything bad, but nothing particularly good either, just what's needed to have progression in Aoba's character. It's not really a problem of course, you aren't reading this for the riveting plot, are you? The author always makes sure to keep things in motion to prevent it becoming to static. For example, new characters are introduced every so often and the ... Oct 31, 2022
A phenomenal story about working towards your dreams, overcoming obstacles, achieving your dreams, then helping others do the same thing.
The character development in this is excellent; starting from such a small beginning, to ending; much larger, and greater of an impact. This is what people imagine working towards your dreams would be like. The story itself is able to teach you lessons, while filling you with some funny, & wholesome moments... it's the ideal job experience that anyone would want. It's very unique in many regards, this manga will introduce things that wouldn't be expected from it's description. Worth the read, would recommend it to anyone. |
