These fantasy stories have mythical dragons coming to aide a fighter, swordsmen and battles. In each there is a vow from the past of a dragon coming to the aide of the nobles. The art in each story is good and sets the tone of the mythical fantasies well. They both have handsome heroes. A difference is that Yasashii Ryuu is a shounen-ai - while Akatsuki no Yona is a shoujo but I think that both are a treat to fans of fantasy art.

Both of these works are fantasy stories with mild BL elements. Like its prequel, Tokaido HISAME -Kagerou- is lighter fare, but the story focus is expanded, making it a more worldly adventure like Yasashii Ryuu no Koroshikata. Both are good stories that contain self-appointed and not necessarily invited bodyguards.

Both of these works are fantasy stories with mild BL elements. Yasashii Ryuu no Koroshikata tends to be more developed and has a wider focus, dealing with the world’s state and politics. Tokaido HISAME is a bit lighter and has more comedic moments. The story mostly revolves around the main characters and their immediate surroundings (and anyone who needs help within them). Both are good stories that contain self-appointed and not necessarily invited bodyguards.
