Apart from having beautiful art (and gorgeous bishies), both series take place in the world of fashion - while one MC creates beautiful high heels, the other creates stunning hats. Both also happen to be the uke in the relationship (huehuehuehue)

I'm actually recommending Canis for how similar (aka non-manga like) its art is to Liqour's art. Not to mention a gorgeous long and dark haired bishie, who, despite his breathtakingly gorgeous looks, is actually a complete sweetheart and totally devoted to the man he's fallen in love with.

I mostly associate these manga because they have absolutely beautiful art styles and absolutely gorgeous panel compositions as well as major LGBT themes. While Shimanami Tasogare is of a coming of age story for a young boy and Canis an adult drama, both series have major themes about their male coming to terms with being gay, which is examined by the author in a really mature way.

In both the manga, there's a mature man who works professionally in the fashion industry (clothes/hats), has considerable experience and has made a name for himself in the said field. One day, a very young MC is exposed to a world he didn't know existed, and he immediately becomes fascinated with it. It's also this MC who realizes his feelings for the mature man first.

Similar stories - a light haired MC who works as a designer, meets our dark haired MC2 who's a gorgeous model. MC2 decides to work for MC1, while eventually falling for him. He is also the one who pursues MC1. But while Canis is more serious, He Is Beautiful is a lot more lighthearted (and pretty cliched in some parts). All in all, both are fun and fluffy reads.

The plot lines are pretty different, but the protagonists are both middle-aged men (who act like they're elderly) with very loud personalities. Both series also have the same type of humor and pacing.

It's a little difficult to explain why I'm recommending this manga, bc on the surface, these two are very different. While Saezuru deals entirely with the world of the yakuza, Canis deals with the yakuza as its background - with more focus being on the relationships between the MCs. If I had to point out similarities, then it would be how well written the MCs of both the manga are, and how fantastic the art in both of them is! And ofc, the fact that they're both ongoing :/

Both of these are slice-of-life stories that follow the development of a relationship. The progression of the relationship is what drives the story and the moment of realization for the party in denial brought tears to my eyes in both cases. The characters are relatable and endearing. The adult setting (meaning, not a high school setting) was refreshing. The men are men, no blushing maidens, and not necessarily typical of their roles. If you want a sweet story that will make you smile and cry at the same time .... This is the one.
