The story of a young man having a new familial responsibility, foisted upon him, is not a new concept. However Aishiteruze Baby (a Shoujo, Slice of Life, Romance, Drama) is one of the earlier ones that follow this (now) tried and true formula.

Just like in several other shoujo manga, set in a high school; we have Kippei, a student who happens to be a bit of a playboy. Yet instead of being the usual love interest of our mediocre female protagonist, the story forgoes all of that and sticks him in the main driving seat. Sleeping through class and flirting with all the girls who ...

This was, quite possibly, the first manga I ever read from start to finish. When I was finished with it it was easily my favourite manga (at that time it was defaulty my favourite) but still today, after reading just a little bit more manga this is still my favourite.

Story: A womanizing idiot has to take care of his 5 year old cousin. It's a frightening concept at first, but it's done amazingly well. The characters fit in perfectly well and the story proceeds at a very nice pace. There are a few side-stories and a few mini-arcs that are a little ...

Mixed Feelings
Okay, so here I go.
It was not brilliant. It was certainely not a masterpiece, but it was better than, let's say, many of the manga out there.
The story revolves mainly around a flirty playboy, Katakura Kippei, who is one day told be his family to take care of his 5-year old cousin Yuzuyu, whose mother has "disappear" (read this as "run off to God knows where"). Other than this... normal family, some other characters are Sakashita Miki, a cousin of Yuzuyu, Tokunaga Kokoro, a classmate, love interest and later even girlfriend of Kippei, and some of their classmates, of which the most ...

It was such a shame that I just read this wonderful series. Oh well, I'm really glad I'd come to encounter this one.
It was about Kippei, a good-looking boy, whose as expected, is a womanizer. He's slacking days came to an end when Yuzuyu, his little cousin, move to their house. He was in-charge to take good care of the kid. From then on there would be a gradual change in kippei's personality. He came to understand more about the woman's heart and he became thoroughly attached with Yazuyu. It was such a heart-warming manga. I really admire the development in-terms of Kippei's personality. ...

Babysitting. Some of us might have done it, whether it’s one of those odd jobs or it’s being stuck with a younger sibling. Especially when you only want to focus on yourself, something prevalent in just about any age group (but especially during adolescence), having someone else to tend to can be one of the most irksome things to deal with. So let me ask you this—what if you were in high school, enjoying a selfish lifestyle that you’re arguably allowed to have (to an extent), only to have a child dumped on you? This is how Aishiteruze Baby starts, introducing us to the prospect ...

Almost a master piece.

This series was extremely great but, the ending seemed so half assed. The last chapter was horrible. If you wanna enjoy the series, then skip the last 2 chapters and take the anime ending. This last chapter was not very good, but the 2nd to last chapter ties in to well with the last chapter.

In fact, it's only because of the last chapter that I'm not giving this series a 10. It was so rushed, but this series was an overall amazing one and I am glad that I have read it. I wish I have read this sooner.

For those of you looking for a shoujo that will melt your heart with romantic dates and awkward kisses, this probably isn't the series for you. But I wouldn't turn away from it so quickly, as I believe you will find this to be a grade above all of that.

Unlike most other shoujos, the focus of Aishiteruze Baby seemed to be on the development of the characters, more so than the development of a relationship. Though romance is prevalent within the storyline, it's not what the story is meant to feel like, making it one of the greatest shoujos I have ever read.

Not often do ...

As someone who made the mistake of watching the anime first, I was slightly disappointed at the pacing of the story. Of course, there is always more time to carry things out in an episode due to the fact that things are always given more time in anime, as they are about 21-25 minutes long. However, I think there is a pacing issue that lies within the manga. Aishiteruze Baby is a wonderful franchise that will touch you right in the heart, but also has a few things that make it not as great as it should be. I am itching to talk about the ...

This manga was so cute! I probably would have rated it higher but I just finished it and I was disappointed at the end. I was hoping for different outcome than how I suspected it would end....I guess I was hoping the author would surprise me! Oh well, it was still a light and fun read. The characters were really adorable. The male lead was such a sweetheart, I’m pretty sure he was prefect guy. I wish they were made like in real life :D

This was such an amazing and sweet story ! I became emotionally attached to the characters especially kippei and yuzuyu. The ending was very emotional for me and it reminded me of my love for the kids in my life. If you are a brother or sister or even a parent this manga/anime would be great for you !

I did not really have high expectations for this manga, the ratings were not all that high. However I was deeply surprised at how moving the manga was.
The characters were designed well and kept in character. The main ones did not feel shallow and are easy to relate to or like. I thought Yuzuru will be super annoying since I am not all that fond of kids but her cute nature got me. Kippei had became a playboy to a doting parent which was super sweet as well.
The art is cute, it was a bit shabby in the beginning but got better. It is ...

This is an excellent shoujo series that would be a ten in my book if it didn't have an okay ending.

Kippei is a playboy with no real purpose in life but acting cute and sleeping with female students. That is until he is forced to take care of Yuzuru. Through Yuzuru, Kippei manages to grow up and take life a little more seriously. The whole manga has a happy feel so there's not a whole lot of down moments in his period of growth. The girl he falls with doesn't have a lot going for her and seems almost useless to the story as ...
